You would expect an Irishman to weave tales worth listening to, but our guide Kieran far surpassed my expectations! Rather than a litany of dates and names, we heard personal stories about Cobh characters from the 18th century through independence in the early 20th! One of the best historical tours I have ever taken!

Very good tour I would highly recommend this small group walking tour. A great historical overview was provided by the guide. My husband and I are in our late 60s and we had no problem keeping up with this tour guide. However, due to some steep hills I would not recommend this tour for people with mobility issues. Guide was interactive and answered questions.

We knew cobh mainly because of the titanic associations. But this tour turned out to be the highlight of our day trip to Cobh. This tour shows very well how much Cobh, a relatively small town, was embedded in world history and how it affected its citizens. It is very well told, gives you a lot of insights in irish history, and you see a lot of the town.

Kieran was so passionate about Cobh’s rebel history and lovingly took us through rain and shine to some of the most important sites in the city. Some of the most detailed and meticulous retellings of historical events I’ve ever experienced in a walking tour! Kieran’s passion and revolutionary spirit truly made the experience unforgettable. A great tour for those interested in the Irish War of Independence. The tour contains a lot of background information, and one of our party (who knew less about this time period) commented on how helpful that was for his understanding. Excellent tour, so much information shared, and all of it relevant. We discussed the history of the area, of Ireland, the UK, Europe and the rest of the world - and how the links and interactions have led to where things are now. Although this tour focused on the Irish republican perspective, our guide was able to put this into a balanced context throughout. His interactive presentation style was relaxed and fun, but also very thought provoking. We enjoyed our visit to Cobh, the understanding of the city and it’s people that we gained from this tour made this a special day.

We had a great walking tour around Cobh. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and brought the history of this port to life. We can a great time and cannot recommend it enough. We arrived by cruise ship into the port and if you are doing the same this walking tour is highly recommend. You meet the guide right in the port where the ship docks a matter of 5 minutes walk. This is of great benefit when you have a limited time on shore and saves having to make extra travel arrangements (& costs) to start your shore excursion. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour. A perfect overview of the history of Cobh. Guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made a point to go over several notable periods of Irish history. Topics included emigration to America, the Titanic disaster and the struggle for Irish independence. Meeting place is particularly easy to find if you are traveling via cruise ship. Well worth the price!

This was one of the best walking tours we ever took. Very historic and educational. It was all covered from a local perspective. You do have stairs and some hills to climb so you need to be prepared for that.
