Halfway through our whirlwind European tour, we found ourselves in the oasis of Vienna, and, for 2.5 hours, in the very pleasant company of Yue. Well-versed in all things Vienna, Yue's familiarity with the city was augmented by her deep understanding of broader European history and the pivotal role Austria has played. Quick with a smile and a laugh, Yue was just as equally blessed with an eye for a unique photo or two, highlighting clever angles, and volunteering to take group photos of our little party as we toured the city. It's a rare thing in the hustle and bustle of touristing, to find such a relaxing opportunity to experience history and to absorb beauty. Yue made that possible.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Vienna Highlight tour with Yue. She is a seasoned guide who knows exactly how to pace the narrative of the city and it's highlights during the two-hour walking tour. She's witty, funny, and she even gives away prizes for those who actively listen and respond to pop quiz questions correctly. Don't worry, she allows multiple attempts to receive some local goodies. Aside from the heat in Wien today, the tour was exceptional. Yue also had good suggestions for us following the tour using her itinerary posted on her tour group's site. We enjoyed all recommendations, including local fare for lunch, dessert and afternoon coffee. Would highly recommend.

A highlight on my last trip to Vienna was a visit to the old Vienna University of Economics and Business (Alte WU Wien) Augasse 2-6 1090 Alsergrund. Next tot he subway station Spittelau. Here is the European biggest mosaic from this century, created by Helmut Leherb. The good thing is you can visit this university for free. Its open to the public. Here you can admire 6 continents displayed of 6 walls each reaching 8 x 8 meters. This piece should be in a museum but I guess most museums don’t have the place for this. I think it’s a hidden treasure for people that visit Vienna and want to do something out of the ordinary.

Yue did a great job showing us round the historic centre of Vienna. She had lots of amusing stories and the time flew by.

Our tour guide, Yue, was amazing. She was punctual, joyful, and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot of history in detail throughout the tour. She explained how the sites we visited were related to one another, so we understand the big picture of how and why things happened. We enjoyed it so much that we booked another tour (Schonbrunn Palace tour) with her! She also provided us with recommended places to check out and restaurant to try at the end of the tour. In our Schonbrunn Palace tour, Yue provided excellent description of what was going on in every room that we went through during the tour. She described the names, personalities, situations of each room in detail including the relationships among the palace residence, and happily explain any questions we had. We were so glad to have her as our tour guide.

Yue was very friendly (and funny) as a host.. her stories and descriptions were amazing, and would likely remain with us forever.. we were also able to cover key historical elements in a short while..

Vienna Highlight Tour met our expectations. Our tour guide, Yu, was very good, not outstanding. She did take us to the major city tourist highlights with some historical notes. We especially enjoyed the Habsburg stories, viewing the winter palace, and seeing at a distance the Lipizzan Horses.
