The Water Walks tour of Amer Fort and Mahal was one of my finest experiences in Jaipur. Mr Neeraj, who is extremely passionate about water management in Rajasthan, explains the history and legacy of Amer by keeping water as the central focus. This tour gives a unique perspective and helps us understand the place with even more awe and clarity. It is a must for anyone who wants to understand the significance of Amer beyond the casual visit. The visits to the restricted areas of the fort are a bonus!

I cannot overstate how brilliant this tour was. Neeraj's passion for this project -- much like the passion of the engineers and royalty who built Rajasthan's grand structures -- makes it a unique experience. In more traditional parlance, it is simply unmissable. Neeraj takes you into Amber palace-fort, and then guides you a little away from the bustling crowd. And from a perch overlooking the lake, he starts telling a story. A story of Rajasthan, its history, its royalty, its architecture, and art -- but with water as his protagonist. It is a story that reveals the miraculous and the ingenuity that is seemingly invisible in front of you. A story of how managing water has built what is otherwise impossible. Through it, we progress through the palace-fort. Through dusty corridors and precarious steps into dimly lit underground chambers, all following water. We enter the more renowned palace areas illuminated by a new understanding. In the role of a more traditional tour guide, Neeraj also clicks photos of you -- and they are to be treasured as is the entire tour.

The blend of political and cultural history with information about the water management in the fort made it a really interesting and comprehensive session! A must-do if you are visiting Jaipur!

what an interesting way to learn about the history of Amber - facts told in a gentle story like manner by Neeraj. I had been to Amber many times growing up but got to know of things I had never heard or seen before. Overall loved the experience .

Had an amazing experience overall. Got the answers to so many questions I'd as a student of architecture. The walk was well structured and full of fascinating facts and stories.

Phenomenal tour by Neeraj- it would have been a totally different story without special access to the interior chambers. Neeraj was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about Jaipur/rajasthan. One of the best tours I’ve been on anywhere! Hands down recommend!

Neeraj showed us Amber as we have never seen it before. It was a fascinating tour covering the history of Rajasthan and Amber, the intricate ancient water systems in the fort and all the beautiful palaces. It was interesting to see many aspects of the fort which are not accessible to general visitors. This tour is a must for visitors to Jaipur and also for those who have lived in Jaipur for many years and don't know about the marvels of engineering and architecture in Amber.

Neeraj has done a lot of research on Amber Palace and that comes through in his talks during the walks. The best part is that we get access to see parts of the palace that are normally not available to the general public and have a deeper understanding of how people managed the most important natural resource - in the ancient times, both for drinking and for pleasure

Definitely a must do for Jaipurites and tourists. Such rich Heritage explained with detail and fact verification. We all felt that we were tele-ported back in 1700s during this unbelievable and well curated tour. We got to visit the special parts of the palace and see some unique and beautiful rooms. What was most striking was how water, the most basic of requirements, was managed in Amber to ensure a town could flourish in the desert region. Places today with electricity and technology struggle, but Jaipur/ Amber was the epicenter of trade, tourism and power.

A very different perspective to the History of Amer, but would have appreciated a little more information on the Royal history along with the technical part

I would highly recommend this tour of the Amber Fort for anyone interested in the Amber Fort and it’s water history and architecture. We learned about the opulent rooms of the palace AND the back rooms and tanks of the water system. Neeraj was highly knowledgable about the subject matter and wove it all together in an engaging manner.

Neeraj went out of his way to pick us up from where we were staying even though we were late. During the tour, he was super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole tour run very smoothly. I would definitely recommend him as a guide in the future.

The tour was fantastic. I was expecting a boring walk through of the typical tour route. This tour was not typical or boring. Mr Doshi has put together a deeply engaging and educational tour into the medievel water management of the Amber Fort. We went deep into parts of the Fort that are not usually open to the public to see the inner workings of the water distribution. If medievel water management does not sound intertesting to you, the opportunity to walk through the inner passage ways of the Fort is an experience not to be missed.

Our tour with Neeraj around the Amber fort was unique and unforgettable. He is such an experienced guide and enthusiastic about the subject matter, I left wishing that my friends and family back home could have been on the tour with me! His tour gets your away from the crowds and provides an alternative perspective while covering everything in the Amber fort one could possibly want to see.

Having already tried Neeraj's Nahargarh water walk tour we were back again for Amer one in the same trip because we loved the tour so much. This time he took us on an exploration of the locked away hidden sides of Amer fort where there is no common access. We saw some engineering Marvel's of their time and old customs still being followed in present. It was an amazing experience to see the never say die spirit of locals and how they made something out of nothing back in the day! Thank you for having us Neeraj! It was a pleasure and we hope to complete the last left tour on our next visit to Jaipur.

Neeraj took us around Amber fort and explained to us the brilliant water systems in place there. The tour included access to hidden places in the fort that is the specialty of this tour . Neeraj beautifully explains with really interesting anecdotes how everything in Rajasthan from its daily life nuances , festivals to the planning of the city has always revolved around water as it is scarce resource . Would definitely recommend this tour to Architects, Urban planners , and history Enthusiasts in general
