This was definitely a trip of a lifetime! We had an amazing journey, full of incredible views, animals and emotions! I am a frequent traveller and, with my parents, this was our third safari in sub-Saharan Africa, having previously done Kenya and South Africa with other companies. This trip with Savannah Explorers, by far, was the best! I would thoroughly recommend them and have already done so to friends, family, and even fellow travellers in Zanzibar! We worked with Agustin at Savannah to create a 10 day itinerary with accommodation that would work for us and our needs as a diverse group in age and also with dietary requirements. Agustin gave us suggestions but was lovely, responsive, and also open to our ideas. Our trip started in Arusha and the Tarangire National Park, we then went to the Central and Northern Serengeti for the migration, back down to Central Serengeti, and then to Ngorongoro, before heading to Zanzibar for a few days. We stayed in a range of accommodation types from hotels to lodges to camps, and had a fantastic experience. Absolutely everything was taken care of by Agustin as agreed, and our driver/guide, Maulidi was just brilliant - friendly, relaxed, and knowledgeable. He is a very safe driver, who went above and beyond and engaged with us to make sure we got the most out of our safari, including ensuring our group had patience! (Mateso bila chuki! haha) We saw the big 5, and everything else... and he had the utmost respect for the animals and the environment, which is super important. Zanzibar was also spectacular, with so much to do and see, but also a much needed rest after our exciting safari. Our only regret was that we didn't stay in Tanzania and Zanzibar longer. In the wonderful parks, we saw many animals, much more than we had hoped before departure! Kinaro was a very professional and cautious driver, and a competent and expert guide, too. Hilary a nice, friendly and competent guide who speaks Italian very well. We were very happy to having met them and we spent a very good time. Wonderful beaches in Zanzibar, snorkeling and hiking in the forest Jozani!

Incredible experience from start to finish. 12 days Ngorogoro Serengeti and Zanzibar. Started at Tarangire National park then on to lake Manyara national park. From there we spent two days at the Ngorongoro Crater where we saw everything from lions, elephants, zebra and the black Rhino. Next up was the Ngorongoro conservation area, Serona, northern Serengeti and Nungwi. We saw every animal up close. Lions, elephants zebra, wildebeast, hippos, cheetah etc. accommodations were excellent and we had more food than we knew what to do with. Our guide was excellent! Would highly recommend this group.

What a wonderful experience led by our guide, Jackson. Every day was filled with amazing views & lots of local information shared by Jackson. We wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way!

What an amazing trip of a lifetime. We had a large group of friends, 28 of us, and Savanah Explorers did a fantastic job keeping us all happy. The game drives were fabulous! Bumpy, dusty roads and all! We saw it all! Lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, giraffes and some of us were lucky enough to see a rhino! Our driver was Abbi and he was just wonderful. Informative, kind and always happy. The lodges and bush camps were all outstanding and we always felt safe. The balloon ride was awesome! Well worth the expense. I would definitely recommend Savanah Explorers for your safari adventure!

Unbelievable experience! Savannah Explorers and our guide John Absalum were exceptional! I knew this would be a trip of a lifetime, but it also exceeded all of my expectations as far as accommodations and helpful guides. We got soooo close to the animals it was just unreal! Highly recommend!!! ♥️

Our driver Emmanuel was wonderful and had a great sense of humor! He tried to find us as many animals as possible and was very knowledgable. I loved the lodging we had at Ngorongoro Crater and both of our bush camps. Temperature wasnt bad and very few bugs. This was an amazing trip

I like to travel internationally and I am always looking for something new and exciting. About 2 years ago I decided to go on Safari so started planning. I researched companies in Tanzania and found Savannah Explorers. From the beginning the whole experience was top notch. This was complicated trip as I was leading a group of 28 people. Savannah Explorers executed the trip flawlessly. The entire experience from the day they picked us up to the day they dropped us at the airport was excellent. As one can imagine, running a trip with 28 people presents its own set of issues. In two years I sent and received over 500 emails working on this trip. The folks at Savannah met the challenge and never made it seem like I was being a bother. The choice of lodges and camps were perfect for our group. That being said, the actually safari was astounding. We say all of the big 5 including a fairly close encounter with a Rhino. Our group had 4 guide/drivers and although my experience was with Abyia, who was excellent, all of the other vehicles had equally glowing reviews of their guides/drivers. I rarely write reviews on trips. I think that people tend to write about the things they do not like but I have zero negative comments about this operation

Modi is an excellent guide.. he spotted every animal and made sure we had time to take photos. Modi was ready to accommodate any requests we had! Would definitely recommend this tour and Modi as a guide!

We went on a family 5 day Safari in Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Nogorongoro crater plus 3 nights in Zanzibar. Thanks to Savannah Explorers we had an amazing experience!!! Agustin in the office was great and made the whole booking process a breeze. Everything went perfect! Our Safari guide Felix was simply the best, very experienced and determined to show us all the animals. We saw the big five and much more…. Felix was like family by the end of our safari!! Can’t wait to go back for more.

Mickey, arranged our safari for our family of 16. This included 8 children ages 9 to 15. It was a fabulous experience. The trip included the Ngorongoro crater, which truly is the garden of Eden, and then the Serengeti. We saw a lion hunt, many different animal species, including a black rhino. A visit to a Masai Village where all of our grandchildren all did the jump jump dance with the villagers. We also encountered the migration of the wildebeest. It was amazing to see literally thousands and thousands of animals marching in a row surrounded by zebras. Heading to and waiting for them were the lions and the crocodiles. we stayed in tent hotels on the Serengeti and enjoyed the sounds of the African night. Finally four days at a resort on Zanzibar, where we could recover from this journey swimming in the Indian ocean. one activity we did here which was a lot of fun was going to a spice farm where we sampled all the different spices directly off the trees, and learned about their culinary and medicinal uses. this was a wonderful experience for everyone, children, adolescents, parents, and grandparents. to do this trip correctly, you need to time it with the migrations and the rainy season to get the best weather and of course to see everything.

Our tour operator was the very best. Felix our guide knew the place to go to see not only the big 5 but so much more. He became a friend. I would recommend Savannah Explorers to anyone considering coming to Tanzania.

I am linving in Africa since long time and I was in doubt to have this trip with a tour operator. Anyway I decided to be supported by Savannah and I am very happy now. They selected very good hotel (fit for the family and Italian's palate ) and an outstanding driver/guide (Babuu). With 2 kids of 2 and 4 years we visited 3 parks and we flow to Zanzibar with zero problems. Thank you guys I hope to come back soon in Tanzania !

Thank you Savannah Explorers for an unforgettable trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. The six days of safari were incredible thanks to our guide Maulid, who showed us the most amazing sights and shared his considerable knowledge with us. We felt completely safe in his hands and he took care of everything. All the accommodation was of a really high standard. And lastly, thank you to Soraiya at head office for her outstanding work. We booked our holiday almost three years ago but due to Covid it was cancelled twice. Each time all communication was excellent and rearrangements were all handled with great care and expertise.

Guide and places visited - Thomas AKA Uncle Thomas was excellent. He helped us see the big 5 and a lot more. He was very friendly and helpful. Thomas took the time to explain the history and the background of each place. He also answered all our questions patiently. One of our kids has mobility issues and so uses the wheelchair. Thomas made sure that our child was as comfortable as possible and even helped with the wheelchair all the time. He also made sure all of us got enough time to take our pictures and videos during the game drives. We visited Mount Kilimanjaro, Tarangire, a Masai village, Southern Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Each of these places had something new to offer us. Operations- Right from the start of the planning, Savannah Explorers had detailed discussions with us to plan our itinerary. All our needs were discussed in detail. After the original planner quit Savannah Explorers, Soraiya took over the planning. She was very meticulous in checking our itinerary and found out a couple of issues and sorted them out by working with us. We are very thankful to Soraiya as well. Everything was well-arranged. The hotels booked were pretty good. All the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The rooms were all well maintained, except for minor issues with the bathroom, phone or a/c. However, we had two hiccups which made us lose a few hours on two days (one, at the NCA gate where our permits had not been paid for and two, with the hot air balloon organization whose guys came almost 2 hours late and so we had to miss it the first day and fly the second day which reduced our Ngorongoro game drive time). We understand they were partner organizations that had the issue. Savannah Explorers did their best to resolve it in time. But we still lost precious hours. All said, this was a fantastic trip and something all of us will cherish the rest of our lives. We highly recommend this trip (keep in mind it is a very expensive trip and it may be cheaper to go at other times of the year. We did this trip during the last week of December and the first week of January).

We selected Savannah Explorers after reading a lot of reviews for our safari trip in Tanzania with extension in Zanzibar! Our selection was the best. From the beginning, the communication with the office staff (Thank you Micky!) was really smooth, they helped us plan the best possible trip for our needs! Also within our trip, whenever we wished some help from them, they responded very quickly! And then our safari guide, Maulid! What to say about this man! He is the best! Except for being a great guide that assisted seeing the Big Five and all other animals with his great skills, he is a great person to be with for days! We earned a good friend after all!
