Great tour. We saw many neighborhoods not visited by most tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with.

Our driver Dimitrios was extremely knowledgeable about the Apostle Paul’s life… and so very friendly… My disappointment, and reason I did not provide it 5 stars, was that the trip details identified that beverages were to be provided, and none were.., it was getting hot outside and I needed to buy water myself at two stops…

We enjoyed our tour of several areas in Athens. Andy was an excellent historian of the various areas. She was very pleasant, and lots of fun. We were able to tour at our own pace, take pictures and ask questions. I would recommend this tour.

We had an amazing tour guided by the wonderful Antigoni. It all began at Syntagma Square, right in the heart of Greece. From there, we ventured to the Syntagma metro station and witnessed the changing of the guards at the Parliament building. Antigoni then led us through various neighborhoods, from the upscale area of Kolonaki to the vibrant anarchist district of Exarchia, where we explored its bars, cafes, and open-air movie theaters along Panepestimiou Avenue. We also visited Omonia, where we checked out the bustling meat and fish market, and strolled through streets lined with charming local spice stores and exotic ingredients. Our journey continued through Psiri, home to artisanal shops, before concluding at Monastiraki Place. Antigoni truly made the tour exceptional. Her deep knowledge of Greek and Athenian history enriched our experience, and I appreciated how she also delved into social, economic, and political aspects of Greek life, sharing personal stories that connected us to the places we visited. I highly recommend this off-the-beaten-path tour of Athens, especially with Antigoni as your guide!

This tour was amazing. Our guide, Pavlina, was super knowledgeable, interesting, informative and friendly. We got to visit several different neighborhoods and had a few very unique experiences.

If you would like to see other less touristic parts of Athens, take this tour. It is very interesting. Our tour guide Elissavet was great, very enthusiastic and had a lot of insider knowledge of this vibrant city.

Wonderful tour. The tour guide was Antigoni Dionisiadou and she was very good. Delightful. We walked over 4 miles through several interesting areas from the very posh to the working class areas. The tour was away from most of the tourist areas and exactly what we wanted to do.

Amazing tour. Saw parts of Athens we never would have seen without a tour. Our tour guide Elena was fantastic, encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of each area and filled in all local information as well. Great tour.

Our tour around Athens was a great experience. Andreas was a very knowledgable guide, his english was excellent. He gave us a understanding for the more recent history of Athens, as well as its ancient past. We experienced the different areas of central Athens, and their differrent political experiences. Altogether highly recommended.

Elisabeth led our tour through several of the distinctive neighborhoods of Athens. She was extremely knowledgeable about local history and the area. My favorite stop was in the national garden behind the parliament building, but all of the tour was very informative. Be sure to have comfortable walking shoes!

We had a fantastic neighborhood walking tour with Andreas and Alternative Athens. It was a fantastic way to orient ourselves at the start of our trip and learn some history about the city and the modern day dynamics of different neighborhoods. We discovered new neighborhoods for dining and shopping that we might have missed otherwise. Andreas is a fantastic guide - highly recommend.

This was a fantastic way to see the less touristy side of Athens, really interesting places we would never have found without our guide, Mary-Kate. She was so knowledgable and told us some fascinating things, especially about architecture. Would highly recommend.
