Michael and our driver Mr Wong were great. Michael English was very good. He gave us lots of tips on where to eat and what to do around our hotel. We were travelling around China for a bit and Michael gave us information on them as well. We were told 2 days in Xi’an would be enough. We had 3 and wish we had added another day. So I would recommend 4 nights and do this 2 full on days in between. There was so much to take in and Michael was full of information. One of my favourite places in China. It was great not having to work out where to get lunch as well. Had 2 nice lunches. This tour is a must in Xi’an. Another bonus was both men didn’t smoke which isn’t like most Chinese.

We had Cathy as our tour guide for 2 days in Xi’An. She was really patient with telling us stories on ancient Chinese history and how Xi’an was an important capital city for many dynasties. She also recommended us some really good local cuisines over the 2 days. We had a really good time overall!

Xi'an Tour with Michael was a great moment and educative time. Michael was very friendly and elaborated and clearly explain the History regarding the city of Xi'an. He gave us detailled information and interresting background stories. He was comfortably able to answer all our questions regarding the rich History of China. Michael is a walking encyclopaedia. Throughout the tour, he did not miss a beat to provide us with the most precious details behind every artefact, site or monument. The rich knowledge of history as well as the convenient transportation made this tour one that I can recommend to anyone visiting Xi’an.

The highlight of this tour was the historical sites of the two terracotta armies. There is so much history in Xi’an and our tour guide was professional and provided very good explanation. Our tour guide and the drive provided excellent services. Our group totally enjoyed this two-day tour. The only improvement I want to suggest would be more timely response from the tour operator. I was asked to communicate via WhatsApp. I sent a couple of messages to the tour operator and noticed after 24+ hours that the messages were still not being read. Eventually, I asked the tour guide to relate my messages to the tour operator and obtained the answers through the tour guide.

Shine was our tour guide and was amazing from the airport pick up and throughout the entire trip. We visited the Han Mausoleum, Muslim Food Quarter for sites and tastes, Terracotta Army, Large Wild Goose Pagoda, Xi'an City Wall bike tour, Art Street, Han food market, and Xi'an Museum. Shine spoke excellent Englisha and had a great sense of humour! She is knowledgeable and intelligent and gave us a fascinating insight into the history and beauty of Xi'an. Would 100% recommend Shine as a guide. Jack and Becky

I travelled with my husband and 3 kids (10,8,5), I was a little worried at first due to the kids age and attention. However our guide Jackie made it so easy. It kept the childrens attention with lots of 'fun facts'. We saw some amazing sites, Terracotta warriors, Xian city wall, Big Goose Pagoda and so much more. We go to taste some local cuisine. I would not travel any other way, I would highly recommend this tour for families, it is so worth it.

Our tour guide Cathy was absolutely fantastic. Her English was fantastic and her knowledge of her home town of Xi’an. She was able to adapt our tour schedule between the two days to accommodate our pace (spent a bit longer than normal at the Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum), and weather (rained the second day. She fearlessly led us through the Muslim Food Street and knew the best ways to get us in and out of the sites quickly. Can’t say enough about this tour. Must do.

Xi'an is an excellent place to visit to see the China's past. President Xi once said, "If you want to see past of China, visit Xi'an; if you want to see China's today visit Beijing; and if you want to see future of China visit Shanghai." I am truly impressed by the city and its people. I did not hire services except a tour guide at the Tetra Cotta Soldiers site. It takes about 45 minutes from city to site, so taxi will cost around 200 yuan. I stayed in the Holiday Inn very close to Wild Goose Pagoda and everything was close.

Michael was a fantastic tour guide. He was extremely well versed in Chinese history and was able to give us the background information we needed to fully enjoy the experience. He was always smiling and went out of his way to make sure we got the most from our experience. For example, my husband's flight was cancelled the night prior to the tour, so he ended up taking a train from Beijing. Rather than sticking with the original itinerary which would have meant my husband would miss the entire first day, Michael offered to rearrange things so that we could pick up my husband at the train station so that he only missed one activity! In addition, when Michael discovered that I had never used chopsticks and the restaurant did not have any forks, he disappeared for a few minutes and returned with a bag of ramen noodles which included a fold-up fork which I could use. Talk about going above and beyond! I would highly recommend this tour as it hits the “must-see” places in Xi’an, and if you are lucky enough to get Michael, you’ll be in for a real treat!

Our guide Jackie brought the history of Xi'an to life. He gave a very informative tour of the Terracotta Soliders and spent time explaining the time line of historical events- a lot to take in! He took us to a local resturant and carefully helped with the food selection - which was great - but big portions! Our time was well spent on the tour with plenty of time for photos and questions. The second day was spent in within and on the city walls , exploring the Musilim quarter and Big Goose Pagoda .Yes you could do this yourself but would miss out on the information well explained by Jackie. We were pleased with the tour , and grateful that the time was well judged and fortunate that our holiday was at a quieter period so not as many tourists so we were able to to get close to the sights. Great to have the personal touch, Jackie spoke good English, so communication was easy. Thank you

We had booked the Two Day Xian Heritage Tour with Lily's Tours. Our tour booking and communications with Ms. Lily Sun via email were all very professionally and promptly handled. We had booked airport transfers as well and our driver Mr. Wong was waiting outside the airport to receive us and he made us very comfortable. Mr. Wong was our driver for our entire two days in Xian and he was an exemplary driver and very friendly and helpful to us. We met our guide Michael on the morning of our tour and we had a wonderful two day experience with him. He not only explained the sights and the history of the places we were visiting but he also gave us a lot of insight into the cultural and social lives of the people of the country. He was warm and friendly and spoke excellent English. He went out of his way to make sure that our food preferences were accommodated even after the tour ended and we were on our own. It was an overall wonderful experience and we would not hesitate to recommend the Tour, the guide and our driver to anyone travelling to Xian.

Trip Advisor Review: Lily’s Tours Three of us spent three nights in Xi’an. We arranged our own flights from Hong Kong and the hotel. On Monday, we were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel by one of Lily’s drivers, and on Thursday, the same driver took us back to the airport. In between, we were treated to a great tour, lead by Jackie with driver Dan-dan (uncertain spelling). On Tuesday, we saw the sights of Xi'an: the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, the bell tower, and the Beilin Museum—also known as the Steles Forest—were the highlights. On Wednesday, Jackie took us first to the Terracotta Warriors Museum and then to the Han Yanling Museum. Entrance fees were all included except for the Beilin Museum, which was not in the original itinerary, but Jackie was happy to accommodate our request to enter as my wife was keen to see the stele. All the while, Jackie provided a constant stream of explanation of what we were looking at and its place in Chinese history. Jackie was knowledgeable and unfailingly cheerful. Although we stopped for lunch on both days, the cost of lunch was not included, which suited us as it meant we could choose what we wanted to eat. We didn't really like the choice of restaurant in Xi’an, but the place in Lintong was excellent. The cars LT provided were clean and comfortable and the driving was professional, unlike some of the others on the road. I should mention that Mary suffered a bad allergy attack, which is apparently not uncommon in Xi’an though our weather was quite clear, so we curtailed our explorations in the city to allow her some rest back at the hotel. Obviously, Jackie couldn't do anything about this. I would advise taking suitable preventative action if you are sensitive to dust and pollution. The communication between us and Lily while we planned the tour was very good—very important to ensure all the ducks are lined up so there are no issues getting the Chinese visa sorted. The things that were not good about our visit weren't Jackie’s fault. We were very happy with our visit to Xi’an and the service provided by Jackie and everyone at Lily’s Tours. We can unreservedly recommend them for your trip to see Terracotta Warriors and the other sights of the city.

Our tour guide Jackie made our experience in Xian a great one. He was attentive to our group of 6, ranging in age from 8 to 77. We went at the end of the Golden Week, so he structured our itinerary to ensure we avoided the crowds as much as possible. Every part of the tour was excellent, and Jackie had a wealth of knowledge about Xi'an. We had authentic local food, found clean and western toilets (so important for us!), and we saw all the sights in a short space of time without feeling rushed or tired.

My family and I visited China in the first week of June, 2018. Our stay in Xi'an was thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. Xi'an is an amazing place to visit, rich in history and tradition. A very special mention has to be made of our tour guide Michael Chang. Michael is such an enthusiastic, friendly and ever-smiling person who spoke excellent English. We were impressed by his knowledge and patience in answering all our questions. Michael has a great sense of humor and made ours' such a fun visit. He is such a warm and affectionate guy that we became good friends in a very short time! It was pretty hot and every now and then he would dash off and return with bottles of water, even without our asking! on Day2 when the kids wanted to cycle on the city wall early in the morning he readily obliged and was there on the dot and happily escorted them. His concern that we board our flight safely (as there was heavy rain at the tail end of our trip) was truly touching. To anyone planning a trip to Xi'an I would hands down recommend that you arrange for Michael to be your guide. His will definitely make your visit memorable! I must commend Lily for running a most efficient guide service. We had the pleasure of meeting Lily in person and she came across as a very warm and charming lady. At every place we visited, our pick up and drop off were on time. All our guides, Luis (in Beijing), Michael (in Xi'an) and Eric (in Zhangjiajie) were simply excellent. I would certainly recommend Lily's tour services to all my friends and anyone reading this review! Thanks a million Lily!

I am from England and went to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors having seen a documentary on the television. As Lily's Tours have a two day Heritage Tour, I booked the two days to include the Terracotta Warriors (a sight to behold), the city wall, a traditional cave dwelling, the Shu Yuanmen Culture Street, the Hangyangling Museum, the Wild Goose Pagoda, the Muslim Quarter and the Bell Tower. The guide was totally professional, very knowledgeable with extremely good English and I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Visited Xi'an early June 2018. We spent couple of days strolling around the city by ourselves, but decided have a local guide for touring around the sights. I found Lily through rave reviews she and the team had on TripAdvisor. We had the two day tour with lunches included, and saw Terracotta Warriors, Drum and Bell Towers, Muslim Quarters, City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tomb of Emperor Jingdi, Culture Street, etc. We even had the opportunity meet Mr Young, who discovered the Terracotta Warriors in the seventies. Weather during our visit was hot (close to 40C/100F), so itinerary & schedule was tweaked on the fly to accommodate for the heat wave. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the tour. Lily provided us lot of information regarding the background and history of the sights. Lunches were excellent and everything worked like charm. Xi'an is not exactly easy city to get around or all the sights that easy to reach unless your Chinese is strong, so using tour guide is something you should really consider. Having done the two day tour with Lily, I would highly recommend it. And go for the lunch; you probably end up eating in places you otherwise would not have discovered.... Highly Recommended!

I recently returned from a 9 day trip to China with my family (including 3 teenagers). We spent 2 full days in Xi'an with the tour guide Harvey. He was excellent. I had arranged transfer from the train station on the evening we arrived in Xi'an. Lily's driver was exactly where he was supposed to be and we arrived at our hotel seamlessly. The next morning we met our guide Harvey. We spent the next 2 days touring the TerraCotta Warriors and the sites of Xi'an. Harvey was super-knowledgeable and was able to pass along the info to my whole family and keep my daughters interested. He quickly realized our need to see as much as possible in the short time we had and we affectionately nick-named him Hurricane Harvey as he kept us moving and filled our heads with stories, history and interesting information. On the last morning in Xi'an the driver Lily arranged for us was at our hotel on time and got us to the airport without issue. In fact, he jumped out of the car and helped us with bags and the correct check-in area. I highly recommend Lilly's Tours and ask for Harvey.

I went on the tour with my partner and his mother over Chinese New Year. Lily's Tours made this trip so easy. I compared with other companies and the price was very fair. I was recommended Lily's an would do the same for anyone else! We had the best time! Our guide Michael was excellent, very knowledgeable, generous and kind. He spoke excellent English and was also funny. He know so much about every location we went to!. We learnt so much about Xi'an's history and he gave us tips on the best food to get including local noodles, and the best dumplings around. Our driver got us everywhere quickly and safely, he knew all of the best pick-up spots so we did not have to walk too far. The team were very helpful and responsive and provided us with all of the information we needed to make the decision to go with lily's.
