Santiago and Alex were great For us to the site quickly and outbid in the right spot for to see fish and turtles. Enjoyed the individual attention from both of them

It was amazing experience! Alex and Captain Max are very friendly. They took us to the open ocean to swim with turtles and fish. We also used their service for underwater pictures and videos. Especially, I liked that there were only 5 of us on the boat which is almost a private tour for a reasonable price!

Great price. Sebastián and Alex were great guides. There were only 6 of us on the tour. It's a small zodiac type boat so no frills ar bathroom but I love the small group tours. The big boats looked so crowded in the water.

I this was the 2nd Turtle Canyon Snorkel tour I booked that was cancelled while I was in Hawaii. I did not get to experience this at all.

So cool. Nice boat, crew super helpful and knowledgeable. Did “King of the world” (Titanic) on the front with Diamond Head in the background! Tons of people in water from other boats. About 25 on board for us. Go earlier like 9:30 or 10:30am for lesser people. Little hard to find dock/slip so give yourself time. Saw many turtles and literally thousands of fish, cool colors and sizes. The guide brought up a couple sea urchins, 1 good, 1 bad (to stay away from). Just excellent. Thanks Shawn for awesome Captaining and all the crew! lol. Super good!!!!

Captain Max is the BEST Snorkeling Tour there is!!!! There was 6 of us and our tour guide was in the water with us pointing out the turtles and sea life!!! The bigger boats had 30+ people swimming way too close to each other AND the sea turtles!!!! Their tour guides were above water on surf boards and nothing personal about it!!! Captain Max rinsed each of us off with fresh water and offered us a freshly chopped pineapple and Hawaiian Juice drinks. I enjoyed my tour beyond words!!!! It was amazing!!!

The boat ride was fast and fun. We could walk from the Hilton! Even though it was rough weather, we saw turtles and lots of fish. Great to be in a group of just 6 people! Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed this snorkeling tour! Alex (the captain) and Santiago (the dive guide) were very upbeat, friendly and knowledgeable. The small boat, 6 guest, format allowed for a very personal experience. Santiago guided us through the water away from the big boat crowds making it a relaxing outing. I have been on big boat snorkeling trips before where it seemed you were always getting kicked by some other guest. Santiago avoided that for us. We highly recommend this tour.

The crew, Alex, Zola, and Santi, made sure we felt comfortable and safe from start to finish. The 6 person limit is great for an efficient, uncrowded experience its important to note that Turtle Canyon is the destination for MOST excursions from Honolulu, so there are a lot of people and boats in that spot. Fresh pineapple and a quick photo op with Diamond Head in the background topped off a great excursion. I'm glad I chose this excursion.

We had a great time with Captain Alex and Santiago on this trip, saw lots of turtles and fish and got a close look at the reef. Santiago was in the water with us and shared lots of good information about the area and wildlife. I definitely recommend this small group experience!

The captain and his crew member were extremely nice. There was not a lot of people on the boat so you get a more personalized experience

I had the most amazing snorkeling trip with Captain Max Boat Tours. Our guides, Garett and Santiago, were friendly and professional, the equipment was clean and comfortable, and the boat was spacious and well-maintained. But the best part was the wildlife we encountered in the water. We saw a pod of Hawaiian Spinner dolphins swimming and playing around us. They were so curious and playful, and they came right up to the boat. It was incredible to see them in their natural habitat. They seemed to enjoy our company as much as we enjoyed theirs. Another highlight of the trip was when we saw a humpback whale and her calf on a mating run. They were majestic and graceful. It was stunning to see them breech the horizon and race towards the horizon. A humbling and awe-inspiring experience that I will never forget. But the best part of the trip was when we got to swim with the sea turtles. Santiago was a wonderfully knowledgeable and kind tour guide, ensuring we all had a moment to see the turtles. I was amazed at the clarity of the water and the closeness of the turtles and fishes. I highly recommend Captain Max Boat Tours for anyone who wants to snorkel with turtles. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I am so glad I did it. It was the best snorkeling trip I ever had, and I can't wait to do it again.

The two gentlemen in the Boat helped me considering I have a lot of mobility issues And I also have a water phobia which I wasnt real aware of until I got out there and I wasnt gonna get in the water but they were so nice and one man actually stayed with me in the water the whole time I was there this is a great bunch of people. they are very helpful patient and Understanding So there's definitely worth trying You might want to bring a Extra shirt or towel for the way back Because it is a little cold After you've gotten out of the water and the wind is blowing on you like it is.

This was a wonderful experience. So much more private than a huge group. Garret and Alex do a wonderful great job at what they do. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy this experience with them.

It was a great experience for our family! I chose "semi-private boat" tour, because it gives you more attention and seems like "family friendly" tour. Captain Max and his partner(staff) is very friendly and gives you an instruction in detail, so if you're a beginner for snorkeling, you don't have to worry about it, because they are there! Also, when you are on a boat, you can feel like riding on a jet ski, which was so much fun! If you are experiencing motion sickness like me, Captain Max will give you motion sickness relief inhaler. Just enjoy!!

Swimming with Sea Turtles was on my cousins bucket list so after sorting through all the different tour options, we chose Captain Max’s semi private tour. There are only six guests and a crew of two on the boat. They were so helpful explaining the safety rules and getting us fitted with the snorkelling gear. One of the staff gets in the water with the guests acting as lifeguard/ tour guide. He pointed out turtles making sure that everyone saw some. We had so much fun watching the turtles and fish! We were even treated to a pod of dolphins that swam right through our area. Apparently the dolphins do not always frequent the area. The dolphins swam near our boat part of the way back to the harbor! We enjoyed the entire experience so booked a second outing with them on the las day of our trip!

What a phenomenal experience! Alex and Zola were attentive, kind and knowledgeable and took care of my whole family ranging from my teenagers to my elderly parents. Extra care and attentive given to my daughter who cut herself right as we stepped on the pier and my mom who is afraid of water. They have life vests and floaties available and in the end my mom had a lovely time just looking at fish / turtles without ever leaving the boat. We saw several turtle and schools of pretty fish with minutes of jumping in the water. Wetsuit shirts from Snorkel Bobs in town made it more cozy but it would have been fine without. Snorkel equipment from the tour was nice and the guides were mindful about being respectful of the animals. Highly recommend this tour and a special thanks to Alex and Zola!

Captain Garret and Alex were great. Smooth boar ride and great snorkeling. Our family of five enjoyed the turtles and reef very much.

Captain Garrett and Santiago made this such an incredible experience! I am not a well versed snorkeler and they had patience and checked in on us routinely. We got to see several Sea Turtles and while I know they can’t control that they knew when and where to head to certain spots. I also loved that this was a smaller boat because it felt like we were able to get a more personal experience because of it.

I went on this tour with my daughter and 6yo grandson. We loved snorkeling Turtle Canyon with Captain Max tours. The captain was so great to explain everything we needed to know. He helped us get in our gear…really nice gear btw. The first mate got in the water with us and was able to spend time with each of us because there was such a small group. He also took some great underwater shot of us snorkeling. We saw spinner dolphins, sea turtles and lots of beautiful fish! We loved this crew so much…really appreciated how kind, helpful and knowledgeable they were. We learned so much :)
