Had a great time on this tour with our guide George and the other guests. I was only in Chengdu a couple of nights so didn't really have time to explore the food scene by myself. This tour provided a great intro to what Chengdu food is about with some history behind the why's. Two of us had dietary restrictions which were swapped out as needed with another option (still incredibly tasty!) If you're short on time, or just want to be shown the "good stuff" without having to wade through all the options then give this tour a try. You'll be ready for the food coma at the end!

Travel in style on a fabulous tuk tuk escorted by the fabulous Fiona through the narrow streets of Chengdu and eat where the locals eat, plenty of food drink and fun, a special evening for my husbands birthday .. ps its a must to try the rice wine 🍶

Great food tour with Fiona. She was energetic and her English was excellent. She took us to so many local spots that we would never have found our own. The food was more than plentiful and delicious. Make sure you show up hungry. Would highly recommend!

Daisy made the evening educational as well as tasty! All we had to do was relax and enjoy! I thoroughly enjoyed the night and would do the tour again the next time I am in Chengdu.

We were only in town for a brief time, but we got the perfect tour. Our guide grew up here, and therefor knew all the history and all the best food spots. And they did not skimp on the food! All amazing, all bountiful. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best things we did on our trip to Chengdu- our tour guide Fiona was AMAZING! She was so full of energy and so knowledgeable about the food we were eating. We ate so much food, drank fruit wine and played a Chinese card game. Fiona was so fantastic, she answered everybody's questions. I would highly recommend it! (Especially Fiona!)

We had Fiona as our guide and she was fantastic! She made us feel welcome straight away and introduced us all to each other. She was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. This was such a cool experience! We tried many things that were completely new to me and our guide Susan was super nice and helpful to explain everything. She was also very careful about the spiciness of the different foods and made sure everybody had a good time. We had great conversations as a group while enjoying the local food.

This was a wonderful experience. Susan was an exceptional guide providing the context of each dish, food stall/restaurant and was a wealth of knowledge as the group moved from point to point, safely in the tuk tuk. I was able to try the spicy items, but for those in our group that wasn't a great fit for there was still more than enough to try at each stop. Lost Plates was highly recommended to me by multiple friends and I look forward to sharing this gem of an experience with others!

What a way to taste and see the city! Good company and our guide tools us so much about the many different dishes, noodles, dumplings, vegetables; with a few fruit wines at the end in a cozy bar by the brilliantly lit river.

Loved the Tuktuk food tour in Chengdu with Lost Plate- the tour stopped at four restaurants and a bar, we got to try some top-notch versions of Sichuanese traditional dishes- some were familiar but we were also introduced to a variety of Sichuanese dishes you can't really find in the US. It was more than enough food for a dinner so be sure to pace yourself. Susan and Fiona did a wonderful job hosting and were happy to answer any questions we had, not only about the food but also about local culture and lifestyle and must-do activities in Chengdu. Definitely recommend this tour!

The tour was well arranged. Our guide Daisy was great, very knowledgeable, helpful and spoke English very well. Not her fault but when I booked the tour well in advance I had said we were vegetarian. She only got the message just as the tour was about to start so food could not be planned for our dietary requirements which was a little disappointing. The food was interesting and we loved the Sichuan tacos. One of the restaurants was very noisy and lots of the customers were smoking. The bar at the end of the tour was a highlight for us.

Lost Plate and the guides always do an amazing job on their food tours. This was my second one in Chengdu and I was excited to try all of the food again. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the local history of the locations and food. Anytime friends or family visit, this is a go-to experience.

We loved our tub tub food tour through Chengdu! Wendy and Daisy made the night so fun, even in the pouring rain! The food was delicious and the kids even had a blast. Highly recommend!!

This food tour took us to hidden gems that I would have never discovered on my own, offering a truly authentic taste of Chengdu's diverse food scene. The use of tuk tuks made navigating the city a breeze, allowing us to focus on the culinary delights that awaited us at each stop. Our guide Ruixi was not only personable but incredibly knowledgeable about Chengdu. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a memorable and authentic experience in Chengdu!

This was a super fun food tour, and the food was amazing. Each restaurant featured something different. My favorite were the noodles. The guide was friendly and did a good job of talking about the food. My only minor issue was we had a small group of 4 people, and a couple of the restaurants brought more food than we could possibly eat, which resulted in us leaving a lot on the table. I just hate to see food wasted. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience!!

So much good food and such a wonderful tour. I only wish we booked it earlier in our trip! Our experienced guide was a local and gave us a lot of Chengdu history and personal stories in addition to introducing the food. She even asked us what we'd eaten already so that she could order something new for us to try! Riding in the tuktuk was really fun and seamless, and we got to learn some of the story behind some of the city's changes in recent years while we rode from spot to spot. The end to end experience was really smooth and perfect for the first time visitor to the city! Unless you're fluent in Chinese and have done a ton of research on the food and how to get between locations, just book this!

Highly recommend. This tour was the highlight of our week touring China. Our guides were engaging, spoke English very well, and took us to several great eats, capped off with a visit to a low key bar to sample delicious Chinese sweet wine on ice. Warm tip, as they translate it in China: take their advice to use the subway, not a taxi, to the meet up spot!
