We quite enjoyed the tour, although the market area was very crowded. A decent range of food was provided. Our guide, Yohko, was very pleasant, but hard to hear in a crowded market, she needs to speak a lot louder. Most of the information provided was drowned out by the crowds of people.

The tour was more than we thought it’d be! We were in the kitchen, trying samples and watching a fish fillet demonstration! Nick was great!

We had a lovely morning with Mieko. We started at the temple, where she introduced us to the religious practices, then went through the market. We had ample samples of beans, fish cakes, egg omlettes and tuna. We ended the tour with a fish cutting demonstration. Pace was good and Mieko is personable.

Our tour guide Zia picked us up at the hotel with a nice and comfortable van. During the drive he gave a lot of information about Japan. Tokyo and mt Fuji. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. On the way he showed us little detailed and shops that one would normally miss. The tour stopped at multiple places. In each step he patiently waited for us to walk around and take photos. And what a day to see mt fuji

Sean-san was great, very accommodating when I wanted to stop for off tour food (and also helpful on what is good and popular). Helped with other trips ideas as well after tour.

Amazing walking tour with our Guide Romy!!! She was absolutely lovely, so energetic and thoughtful! We tasted local foods and at the end of the tour all gathered together for a light meal with the other tours! Japan Wonder Travel would highly recommend and we used them for our Sumo Tour as well, excellent for both! Would highly recommend and book with Japan Wonder Travel!

Tour was excellent. Ended up being about 3.5 hours of slights sounds and tasting items I wouldn’t have tried on my own.

We had an incredible tour of the Tsujiki fish market Nana our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun she described in great detail the nuances of modern Japanese culinary culture and talked of some old customs too. We sampled some great food fresh fish eggs and sweet strawberries washed down with some nice sake and cold beer. We even learned how to make sushi and had a nice lunch at a local restaurant thank you for the experience

It was a rainy day in Tokyo and our guide Sean really made the best of it! We tried a variety of items, and Sean had a few recommendations of additional things to try, like the wagu beef skewers, which we’d recommend. Sean also gave us a brief history of the market. All in all, a very yummy experience!

May 2024 If you start your trip with Tokyo, this tour may be a good option. However, in our case, we finished the trip with Tokyo, and after having the chance to see many similar markets during our trip (notably markets in Kyoto), the market of Tokyo was not very different. Pros of this tour: - You have the chance to see how they make a "special egg omelets" as you will see the kitchen. - The guide will let you know if the price of the different shops are good or if it is too expensive. - The guide will show you the best spot to enjoy sashimi + terrasse. Cons of this tour: - As for any tour in Japan, do not expect to have a guide that will be 100% fluent in English. Not very fluent in English = necessarily limited in the type of information you will get. - The guide was mainly providing information about the ingredients and vegetables of the different markets. As our group was more interested about historical information, most of the information received was not pertinent for us. - Do not expect to see Tuna cutting in this tour. The restaurant at the end of the trip was good, but the chef prepared sashimi of a very small fish. Would we recommend this tour? We did not feel that paying $CAD 650 for a group of 5 was a good deal.

We did tours of each of the major markets in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo. This was by far our favorite one. Our tour guide, Hiro, did a great job of mixing in folklore, history, and fun facts into his tour and also easily answered any questions we had. We had a great sampling of different foods and left very full, which is what we wanted!

Hiro was the best guide with a great sense of humor, very personable, and made the tour very enjoyable. We got to try many different types of food and he took us to a few places that presented a great photo opportunity. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Romy took us on a private tour of the inner and outer markets and was a delight from start to finish! Romy asked us what our favourite foods were and then sought it out within the market arranging for samples of everything from dashi to sake. She was very informative and we developed a true friendship! Thank you so much Romy for entertaining a group of 5 englishmen! You're a super star!

Our tour guide Ash was great. It was a very informative tour with him telling us about the history and showing us best places to eat (where it isn’t western prices) and also showed us where the locals shop for fish. I think the tour was great but definitely more so for fish lovers!

It was great experience to explore Tsukiji market with tour guide. Hiro was our tour guide, easy to talk, and explain well about Japanese food culture. We enjoyed many Japanese foods such as Yakitori, seafood, sake, and so on. Overall, I really enjoyed the tour more than I expected. Highly recommended!!
