Roshan created an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My fiance and I did the 7 Day ABC Trek with him. He was nothing short of absolutely professional and excellent. He’s been trekking professionally for 10 years, and you can tell that he is truly remarkable at what he does because of his focus on your hospitality: he is incredibly consistent at anticipating your needs and meeting them, even when you’re not expecting it. I personally believe his love for hospitality comes from his background as a hotel manager – his entire career has been built around serving people, and he brings that customer-first mindset into trekking. His TripAdvisor post says he is just a guide, however, that’s incorrect. Let me list out all the roles that Roshan plays for you when you go on a trek with him: + Translator: He speaks the best English of any Nepali I’d met. He translates for you when you need to speak with a local in a village, guest house, or on the road. Your words won’t be lost in translation. + Logistics Expert: He will pick the path that is best suited for you. He’ll tell you which path is shorter and more difficult, or longer and easier. If you fall behind, he will readjust the logistics plan for the trek to you. He learns your pace and adapts to you. + Accommodations Planner: When treks get busy, you may not have a place to sleep – you don’t need to worry about this with Roshan. He will call ahead and reserve a private room for you. He himself will give you the private room while he sleeps in the shared room. He cares about your comfort and accommodation above his own. + Negotiator: If you want to buy something on the road, he will negotiate for you to get you the best price. He told us where to get the best deals, when to wait for better ones up ahead, etc. He dislikes when tourists are ripped off because it reflects badly on his country. + Waiter: He will take your order for you and translate it to the kitchens on the road. He ensures that you finish your meal before he starts to eat. This is an example of how consistently he puts you first. + Entertainer: If he sees you have difficulty with the trek, he will tell stories and riddles to pass the time and keep you going. He wants you to enjoy yourself. + Culture Expert: Roshan will tell you stories about how Nepalis live and work, their traditions and values. He plays an active role in helping you understand his world more deeply. + Fauna Expert: He will point out plants and trees to stay away from or look at. For example, certain plants that are prevalent on the trek like nettle (which sting if you touch it), he will tell you where to be aware of it. + Guide: This is the role you are explicitly paying for. He will tell you where the correct turns are, where the paths get more difficult. He will meet with you before to go over the trek, elevation each day and where you will sleep throughout the week. He is highly organized. My fiance and I would trek with him again in a heartbeat. He was world-class. He even offered us a room at his house to experience a true Nepali home – he does this for everyone. I wish there were more people like Roshan in tourism.

My partner and I walked the Manaslu circuit trek together with Roshan in May ‘23. It was to be the first time any of us had walked this route, Roshan included. From the outset Roshan was responsive to messages and diligent with issuing the necessary permits and keeping us informed of progress. He was punctual throughout the trip (he was waiting on us a lot though!) and well organised. He was also happy to discuss all range of topics while we walked and rested - from local flora and fauna, geography, to local culture and traditions and politics. We successfully made it over the Larke Pass (although the weather was terrible), Roshan assisted in doing this safely. I am sure that the next group he leads over will benefit from what he learned in doing this trek with us for the first time. Upon finishing the trek Roshan invited us to his house and cooked us his famous Dal Bhat - the best we ate while in Nepal! It was good getting to know Roshan better throughout the 2.5 weeks we spent together. I would welcome Roshan to our house if he ever visits Australia.

NOBODY SHOULD BOOK THEIR TRIP WITH THIS MAN. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE DO NOT BOOK WITH ROSHAN. While he was very knowledgeable of the area and was understanding that I was a beginner trekker, he persistently hit on me and made me feel unsafe during our trek. He insisted that we share a room and proceeded to cross many boundaries with me. Not only did he try to convince me to spend the night alone at his home, he continued to make me seriously uncomfortable and CONTINUED to pursue me well after our trip ended. I would VERY HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND him to my fellow female travelers. Amongst all the things he taught me, the most important lesson was TO NOT TRUST MEN when traveling alone in Nepal. He doesn’t deserve any business at all.

We were new to trekking so looked for a guide to advise us and take us onto a trek in the Annapurna region. We found Roshan on TripAdvisor and loved the reviews so wrote a message and Roshan replied the next day. From that point on everything about our trip was totally stress free. We could ask anything and he would arrange all for us. We did the Poon Hill and Mardi Himal trek, which takes 8/9 days. This was very nice. Poon hill trek was beautiful, but a bit more touristic than Mardi Himal. Mardi Himal was mainly Forrest trekking, but once you get above the trees the view is amazing!!! in the middle of this combination you can visit Gandruk, which is a very beautiful town with a small museum about Nepal farming live, and we also visited hot springs in Jhinu. We heard from other travelers that Annapurna Base Camp is nice but very crowded and that if you have 2 weeks you should go for the Annapurna circuit. Many travelers were with guides (+-porters) but also many travelers hiked alone. The paths are very clear (a lot of stairs even) so you can easily choose to go without a guide, but the extra info on Nepal life, nature, culture and not having to worry about anything made it totally worth it! We would recommend contacting Roshan about your trip in the Annapurna region.

We are so glad we had Roshan with us for the Mardi Himal trek. He was knowledgeable, patient and professional through the whole experience. More than anything he’s great for a chat about local culture, environments or history. I strongly recommend people looking for an independent trekking guide in the Annapurna region contact Roshan.

Roshan did not only live up to all his reviews, he exceeded and went above and beyond to look after us and make sure we had the best time trekking with him! A massive thank you for everything you taught us and showed us along the way. We couldn't have had a better guide and friend! If you go trekking with him and get a chance to try his momos after, they are the best! Not only did Roshan plan our trip with him perfectly, he also helped us to book paragliding when we got back. He's truly kind and caring and knows sooooo much, which is incredible to get to go trekking with and experience. We'll definitely be in touch next visit! :)

I was in contact with Roshan for my ABC trek. He is a recommended guide for Treks around annaporna region. He has a in detail knowledge of various trek routes, recommendations as per season, provides a list of trekking gear etc. There are many guides in Pokhara and Kathmandu, therefore at times it is confusing whom to choose and what to look for. I think Roshan is what I was looking for.

Actually my boyfriend and I didn‘t book a guide for trekking in Nepal. But we became friends with a couple that was traveling with Roshan and he was very helpful although he wasn‘t our guide. He speaks English very well, he has a great knowledge about the area and always a story to tell. He was very friendly and helping us a lot with good advice so that we really enjoyed having him on our journey!

My boyfriend and I did the Annapurna Circuit Trek for 10 days with Roshan and enjoyed it very much. Roshan speaks perfect English, is super friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to tell you everything about the surroundings, Nepali history, customs and religion. Also, he helped us out with tips for the rest our trip in Nepal (especially Pokhara), offering even to help book our safari in Chitwan. When going on a trek in Nepal, definately go with Roshan! Thanks so much!!

Roshan is a gem and a consummate professional when it comes to guiding. Every time I trek Annapurna Conservation Area, I go with this guy. No matter my group size, he always delivers stunning views, a considerate pace, remarkable food, and fantastic conversation. Roshan loves his home, knows the plants and animals in the area, and knows the ins and outs of all the local tea houses. As we covered some serious ground on foot, we covered some serious ground in conversation. His English is impeccable. He has a big heart and an open mind. I look forward to another trek with Roshan the next time I am in Nepal.

I trekked with Roshan in October 2018 to do the Annapurna circuit. Roshan was highly knowledgeable about the landscape, culture, wildlife, fauna and many other interesting facts about Nepal and the trek itself. He was highly conscientious and ensured our safety and enjoyment. Overall, wonderful experience and Roshan definitely helped to make it that way!

Roshan is the man! After spending some time in some local villages, he took us on a 4-day trek through to Poon Hill. Not only is he a great tour guide, but he is incredibly caring and knowledgeable. Over the couple of weeks I got to know Roshan, we became good mates. I've spent a lot of time travelling but never have I felt so comfortable with a guide. Not only was he fun to have around, he taught me a lot about the language and culture of Nepal and India. He had some great personal stories and old tales from the area, which made it even better. He has studied the surrounding area convincingly, and it truly showed - he seemed to know everything about he local flora and fauna, never forgetting the interesting fine details. I like asking a lot of questions and honestly tried to find one that would stump him, but it was a very rare occurrence! Roshan treated people with such respect too. He was friendly with everyone we met, caring of our needs and even helpful with fellow trekkers. He knew every tea house we stopped at and always got us the most welcoming service when we arrived - it was perfect to end the long days of trekking. He made us feel comfortable the whole way through, brought extra water and helped with carrying gear. I'm very glad my first trekking experience in Nepal turned out so well, mostly thanks to Roshan! He truly made Nepal such a good experience for me, I've recommended a trek with him to some of my friends heading to Nepal. He will help you get everything sorted - (passes, pickup, drop-off, gear), guide you through every step of the way and make it a fun experience, you just have to show up! Looking forward to going back for a longer trek, thanks again brother!

I'm very glad my first experience trekking in Nepal was with Roshan, he made it an incredibly enjoyable experience for myself and three other friends on the Poon Hill trek. Roshan took great care of our group throughout the trek to ensure we had an authentic and memorable experience. His local connections and knowledge meant that he always knew where we could get the most delicious meals along the trek and which teahouses were best to stay in. Roshan is also incredibly knowledgeable about the region and the natural/cultural environment - we learned a lot every day, which was awesome. Roshan was always flexible and accommodating to the needs of our group, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. He was also a pleasure to trek with, as he has a very social and easy going personality, and a great sense of humour. It felt more like trekking with a friend than a guide. I would highly recommend Roshan to people looking for a great guided trekking experience in Nepal!

Roshan took myself and 2 other friends on a two day trek in Nepal. Roshan discussed with us beforehand about which type of trek we would like to do as we didn’t want to do one which was too difficult. He set a perfect route for us which could easily have been changed had we wanted anything different. Roshan taught us a lot about Nepali culture and was very knowledgable! We all felt very safe and well looked after throughout our hike and instantly felt at ease in Roshan’s friendly company. Roshan was more than helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had the experience we wanted and got the most out of our trek. We would highly recommend Roshan as a tour guide for others who wish to do trekking in Nepal at any level.

Roshan is a legend!!! We did the Annapurna circuit with him in 2018. He helped us to design a schedule that suited our preferences, even supporting our changes of plan during the trek. He put in a lot of effort to find the best guest houses, and explain the natural and cultural context in Annapurna. He supported us through injuries and tough days, always going the extra mile for us. He was not just our guide but our good friend, and I enjoyed hiking with him immensely. Most highly recommended and I can’t wait to trek with Roshan again in the future!
