Tradition and Culture in Yangon Half-Day Tour

Learn the story of Burma (Myanmar) and get to the heart of its local traditions and culture on a half-day city tour of Yangon and its icons.
Meet your local, English-speaking guide, jump in the van and head to Chaukhtetkyi Pagoda, home to a reclining Buddha that's one of the most honoured in the country and one of the largest in all of Myanmar.
Next, stroll through a residential area to Kandawgyi Park. Along the way, your guide will share Yangon anecdotes and answer any questions you may have about local life. Pause for a tea break, before heading into Shwedagon Pagoda.

Once inside the Pagoda complex, discover a unique market that will give you an idea of how significant Buddhism to daily life in Burma. Then, climb a long, stair-filled corridor to the Pagoda platform for a magnificent view. Marvel at the golden dome of the Pagoda, said to have once been covered with tons of pure gold and precious stones, including jade, rubies, sapphires and diamonds.

Transfer back to the meeting point by van, or stay at the Pagoda to continue exploring at leisure, and make your own way back to the city center in your own time.

Tour guide “Win” did a good job, knowledgeable and friendly! enjoy the tour!
Good experience in Yangon
I was on the tour with Myo. It's fantastic excursion that I can see highlights of Yangon. Myo explained me tons of information on Burmese culture. I really satisfied with this tour.
Bad experience and tour content although tour guide is very friendly
The local provider removed the museum part of the tour and that is not published in your site. With that removal the rest of tour is sort of several pagoda visits which became too boring, frustrating and not in any average tourist non-budhist interest. I mean yes it is good to visit, take general overview and take photos then move on. But the tour was lengthy religious explanations to fill in time of tour which was totally boring and I don't know how it fulfills the title "Tradition and Culture tour" it should be "religious budhist tour". Tradition & Culture tour should be simply more about tradition and culture !!!!!!. I had the right to ask for refund from this website because of misleading content and title, but I just don't want to go into that hassle
a good impression of a historical place
a lot of information from my guide Myo. depending of his good knowledge of history and living of the people in the township
Great experience!
We had a lovely 4 hours tour, our guide was thoughtful and attentive. We had sometimes difficulty understanding his English but he will take his time to explain. He was flexible and dropped us off at our desired location instead of the finishing point. I'd contract them again :)
