Arrived in Sintrtra this morning and walked into this Sintra tourist welcome centre, I didn't want to book anything but my friend did. So I agreed and we booked the mountains and palaces half day tour. I'm so glad we did, as it was the best experience we've ever had. Our guide was Paulo jahlè Durão and he really looked after us both, he was very helpful with accessing attractions, and recommended one of his local restaurant for our meal. Restaurante Dom Pipas Sintra Which we really enjoyed and would never of found this little gem if it wasn't for Paulo. The food was amazing, even the cappuccino i ordered was extraordinary ive never had a cappuccino like it. All the staff were fantastic and very friendly. After our meal Paulo came back for us and our tour carried on. I think we saw ever part of Sintra thanks to Paulo, he spent the day with us. We would both highly recommend using sintra welcome centre and having Paulo as your guide. He's a fabulous bloke is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Jose was a great tour guide and the whole group from the welcome centre made our trip to sintra seamless and very enjoyable! Would definitely recommend both the waking & tuktuk mountain tour for a day in sintra (allow enough time to see the Castles and palaces - both incredible !). Was a private tour for 4 of us and very well looked after the whole day

We are so glad we took the tuk tuk up to Pena Palace. Don’t think we could have made it walking 😅 However, the tuk tuk was not waiting for us at the station I had noted when I reserved it. One number I called did not work, and they other went to a voicemail. We had to walk into Sintra and stop at a few places asking for directions before finding the welcome center. Thankfully they had my name on the list and I had my confirmation email, and the guy there took us into a tuk tuk at once. We had 6 in our group, and the tuk tuk seemed to struggle up some of the steep hills, but we laughed about being passed on the road, and we made it up! He also picked us up when we called at the end of our tours (make sure you have the phone number and a phone to call), and the ride down was quick and easy. I think next time I would just wait and take a tuk tuk from the train station (there were several outside just waiting), rather than plan ahead. But totally worth the ride!

We had a private tuk tuk tour by Jose and it was amazing. He spent time talking through everything, every site, details and he even came to one of the places with us to do a private tour. He was funny and charming, he made the tour very special for our holiday. Definitely the best option for a tour, I can’t recommend him enough.

Excellent trip to Peña palace up the mountain. Nuno was such a lovely guide. He showed us all the places of interest and expertly told us about the lore of the area. Would 100% take another tuk tuk tour if I travel to Sintra again in the future!

Catia was the best! She was funny, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Worth every penny and would absolutely recommend!

It was a nice, fun ride! Roger was very informative! We also got a ride back at our convenience with Marta. Rita was very informative and funny on our initial visit to the center! We felt well taken care of!

We had a tour for Sintra (palacio de pena, parque and quinta de regaleira) by car because of the bad weather, with the driver Nuno, lovely person and beautiful experience. Highly raccomended!

What seemed to be a long tour to several palaces and other locations, turned out to be basically a 30 min Tuk-Tuk ride! Surprisingly, "Sintra Welcome Centre" finds this transportation 100EUR worthy... And that was after a discount (the original price is 120EUR). The agency manager presented us with a very impressive map with a vast number of locations and places we were about to visit. The actual tour was just a lift uphill to the palace entrance and a pic up back to the historical centre. Don't fall for this - when there are many other great alternatives such as tourist busses in around 2.5EUR and many Tuk Tuk drivers that are passing along the way. Very disappointing.

Ask Roger for a Nice trip ! He took us to the palace with perfect stops to take good pictures of this beautifull place that is Sintra ! I recommand.

Skip the bus and take the tuk tuk up to the Pena Palace. Rita was incredibly welcoming and kind. Our driver Andre was just the best( the Rinaldo of Sintra 😀) we stopped multiple times to take photos and learn local history. Jose was our driver on the way down, and went out of his way to take us to a local tile artist after our ride was over. He even offered to wait with us to take us to the restaurant he recommended. It would have been worth it alone to avoid the bus crowd alone. A truly great day. Thank you!!!!

Johnny was our Tuk Tuk driver for our trip up to Pena Castle, and he was not only a great driver, but he was a real friendly guy and a good character, and we had a lovely tour with him.

José was an amazing guide! He was kind and adaptive due to our needs . We learned a lot and he sure is knowledgeable! With beautiful views he showed us we got out of the tuktuk twice to stroll through gardens. We highly recommend!!!!

We will never forget this tour! The Tuk Tuk was a super unique and fun way to see all the sites of Sintra, and the mountain and beaches, in a short period of time. And David was far and above the best tour guide I've ever had - he had so much knowledge of the areas history, architecture, and environment. But what made it the best was how he weaved in his personal experience growing up in the area - we really felt like we gained insight into what it would be like to live their and about the culture and little tid bits about the area we never would have uncovered on our own. I can not recommend more!

Rogério was the best tuc tuc tour guide ever! He made our day trip to Sintra very special….the sites were amazing and his advice and stories made for a perfect day. He even got us to Cabo da Roca in time for an amazing must see sunset. Highly recommended!

In the centre of the town we were approached by André Mariano, he works for the Sintra welcome centre. He offered us a trip with the TucTuc to the palace. He made us smile for the hole trip. The appointment for the return trip was very easy to make. We were lucky to have André as our tuctuc driver and guide. He was a native Sintra-man!!!

We stopped by the Sintra Welcome Center initially thinking it was a tourist office looking for information about the easiest and quickest way to get up to the Moorish Castle and the National Palace. We were then told by both the manager and guide that the trail was closed for maintenance and would need to take a tour up to the castles. The tour was $80 for the both of us to go up and back, just the ride with NO entrance fees with a few stops along the way to call it a “tour”. Less than half way up after 2 “tour” stops, the tuk tuk broke down. A backup vehicle was called and about 1 ½ hours later we got to the top. Because of the delay in getting to the castle the lines were so long we have to wait 2 hours for our entry. When the time came we did not get picked up! We ask the security guard at the castle how we could get back down and he showed us the walking trail. We informed him that we were told that the trail was closed by our tuk tuk company to which he responded that you can’t trust them as they only want to sell their services. We walked down the trail into town (which was a 20min walk). Not getting picked up was bad enough BUT to boldly lie about the trail is unacceptable. Just take the public transportation or walk the trail!!! I see the positive reviews on this place and only wonder what they based their reviews on. Would definitely NOT recommend them.
