Alejandro was a wonderful guide. He gave us a lot of insight into the caverns but also Monterrey and Nuevo León as a whole. He also provided helpful tips for a Rayados football match we were attending the next day! 10/10

The hike, caves, & views were incredible! One of my favorite places we went on our trip to Monterey. Our group did not speak Spanish, so Polo & Alex did an amazing job of translating all the stops for us so that we could understand the history behind where we were and what we were seeing. They also answered all of our questions & were great guides our entire trip! So glad we did this experience with them!

Jose gave us lots of cultural, natural and social facts about the caves. Now that the gondola is out, you have to walk to the caves. Luckily, the guide adjusted his pace for us. He brought lots of resources to help us, like water, snacks, walking sticks. Jose shared the stories about the area that made us feel more connected to it.

Unfortunately, after the Husteca canyon tour, we received a phone call stating that the government was restricting the cave tour to people under 65 years of age. Probably because we weren't real fast walkers. But we're not that slow and in good health. Very disappointed.

The Grutas de Garcia are truly spectacular! The journey includes a steep initial hike (paved switchbacks) that took people in my group 30-40 minutes to complete. The caves themselves are beautifully maintained, with appropriate lighting, handrails, etc., to show off the beauty of the space without risking damage to either the visitors or the delicate rock formations. Afterward, we went down into the town of Garcia for ice cream, a pastry shop, and tacos — the perfect end to the trip. Alex was a wonderful guide, answering all sorts of questions, translating for those who needed it, and easily navigating the traffic. Our trip was in November, so we enjoyed cool weather. Anyone visiting during the warm season should absolutely bring water, a hat, and sunscreen for the hike up/down.

Our bilingual guide Alex was fabulous -- very knowledgeable and encouraging. The Noreste Adventurs team was very responsive and answered my questions promptly. The cave visit itself was terrific as the cave is large and beautiful. The route to/from the cave from the parking lot is steep, so good sneakers or boots and decent cardiovascular fitness are needed. Bring water also as you're pretty exposed on the hike to/from the cave. Also, for a small extra fee, we were able to arrange pickup from our hotel, which was very helpful. All totally worth the price. Other note - you may have read in older reviews or guidebooks about the cable car. It is out of service now and not likely to be back in service anytime soon.

From the moment he picked us up until the moment he dropped us off at our hotel, Alex was an amazing guide. He was a pleasure to talk to, spoke English really well, and we learned so much about the culture and history of Monterrey. He interpreted the tour of the caves for us, which was invaluable to our appreciation of the tour. The area around the cave was beautiful and the cave itself was phenomenal. It was the best part of our visit to Monterrey for me. If you love natural history and earth science, don't miss it. The whole experience was fantastic.

Great tour and guide! Alex was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable for the entire day- we would absolutely be friends in real life, too. He picked us up early, supplied chilled water bottles, and was very fun to chat with. He taught us not only about the area, but some useful Spanish phrases, too. Would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a semi-strenuous, but not too difficult hike up to a really cool cave. The path through the cave was thoughtfully designed, and it was a unique experience to view a cave from above the formations, rather than just from the cave floor. The hike back down took no time at all, and go ahead and trust Alex’s recommendations for ice cream afterwards!

Amazing experience. Very well organized. Pablo/Team were on-time and organized. The lift to the top of the mountain is out of order, so expect an uphill 40-45 min hike (zig zagging on side of mountain). Pathway is paved, but def wear good shoes and take your time. I'm not super fast, and they were very patient with me! The trip was worth it though!

We decided to go to Grutas de Garcia when we visited Monterrey. We hired a driver to take us and he had informed us that the sky tram was not working and we had to walk up. We really thought he was kidding. Once we arrived, 1 hour later, we realized it was not going to be easy because the sky tram was in fact down and had been for over 18 months. We decided to walk up even though it was 100 degrees. The employee told us it was about a 45 minute walk so we figured it wouldn't be so bad. It was brutal. If you decide to go, just know that the trip up is equivalent to about 80 floors and it is steep. Take lots of water because there is no water on top and expect to reach the top with 1 hour and 15 minutes. Take your time, take lots of breaks, take sunscreen, a hat, and travel light. Worth the trip, but maybe not the safest decision.

We went early in the morning picked up by Alex at 830AM on the dot in a nice comfortable ride with air conditioning and had great conversation with Alex on the way. He had waters and gatorades packed for us which was a great touch!! The hike up approx 1.5 miles was very difficult but going early (before the sun was too hot) made it so much better. We were told to take our time and were given plenty of breaks to catch our breath and once we made it to the top, the reward was amazing. The total time was 55 minutes of strenuous activity, heart rate at 165-180 bpm the entire time. My advice is to go EARLY when it opens. The tour guide was awesome and hilarious!! There’s more stairs to climb once you get inside but it’s gradual and once inside the caves there’s no sun and the breeze is beautiful!! Our son didn’t speak Spanish but Alex helped translate which made the tour so much better. The way down is VERY slippery because of the rocks. We were very grateful for the experience even though we were sore on the way back and the day after! 😅 Alex was a very cautious driver and got us back to our hotel safe and sound!!

This was such a fun experience. Polo was an amazing tour guide and everyone in the town of Garcia was incredibly friendly. Fair warning, the trek up the mountain is rough if you aren’t used to physical activity. So make sure to bring water, a hat and take frequent breaks if you need. Polo was very understanding and accommodating to us. I highly recommend this tour. The caves are marvelous and pictures and videos just don’t do them justice

This was an amazing experience. Polo was so nice on taking me last minute. I’m so glad I was able to booking with him and be able to learn and see this amazing place. After the hike the ice cream was much needed! Be sure to try the gansito ice cream or Mexican traditional sweet bread.

Astounding tour! The cave is breathtaking and the town is nice and pretty, it has several local things to try: ice cream, bakery, crafts, etc. We had a great time.
