The Island Exploration at Divar trail with Soul Traveling, with Omkar as our ambassador, was the highlight of our Goa trip this summer. We had heard about Divar and were wanting to visit it for a long time. The guided tour of the island with Omkar made the visit worth the wait. Omkar’s passion for the island and its history brought its stories to life. The Saptokoteshwar temple site and its history were fascinating. The trail also included a relaxing boat ride with Mr Amrut (from Goa.Say.Boatride). Mr Amrut’s knowledge about the mangroves was extremely impressive. He helped us identify various varieties of mangroves and explained their significance in Goa’s marine ecosystem. We also managed to spot two crocodiles napping between the mangroves during our boat ride! Finally, the feni tasting experience at the Island Bar and Restaurant with Mr. Anil Durbhatkar added another memorable dimension to this trail. The snacks he made for us were also very tasty and fresh. Will definitely recommend this trail to anyone looking for an offbeat Goa experience!

Decided to see the ‘unspoilt ‘ parts of Goa so chose a trip to Divar Island . Our guide from Soul Travelling was Omkar with whom we connected instantly . He is warm and welcoming and narrated the the myths in addition to the historical facts . The trip covered a church which was a lookout by the Portuguese for other colonialists, ancient temple escalations , a boat trip and yes - Feni tasting ! Many thanks to our boat navigator ( Amrut Kaka ) who explained the details of the river , the types of trees and also the wild life ( didn’t see any crocs ) . The Feni tasting quiz ( we had to guess the flavours ) was at Anil Kaka’s home and we had some lovely green chutney sandwiches and Goan cutlets . And pulling it all together was Omkar - who was always cheerful and willing to show us the real Goa and how proud he was to be a Goan . ( This was appreciated as we are Goan too) Kudos to Soul Travelling for their clear communication once we booked the trip .

The Divar walk was very exciting, enriching and interesting! Omkar, our trail guide, is such a vivid and illustrious orator and story-teller, who really elevates the entire experience. He is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic and friendly. The trail is not only well-curated, but so well executed and researched that it leaves you in such awe of the history of our beautiful state of Goa and the making of it. Divar Island is one of the most serene and beautiful off beat locations in Goa. The place is serene, quiet and peaceful, away from the city rush.

We took the Divar Island tour with soul travelling and it was the highlight of our Goa trip. We have been to Goa 5 times but this experience stood out. The ambassadors Omkar and Karan were rockstars. Omkar became favourite of our little ones and they didn't want him to leave. Karan's knowledge and story telling skills were top notch. Omkar told the same stories to our 4 and 7 year olds in a manner suited to them and they learnt and enjoyed which was amazing. We had yummy tea on the way. Special thanks to Amrut kaka who took us on the boat ride and pointed to so many different birds and told us about how locals catch fishes and crabs. And then came the crocodiles which left us in awe. Watching them in their natural habitat in the wild is another experience in itself. The tour ended at a local eatery and bar. The snacks were yummm and feni tasting was interesting made more surreal with the sun setting above the fields. It was amazing. This tour was thoroughly enjoyed by young ones too and my senior dad. It was worth every single penny. Unmissable.

We went on the island tour to divar and had such a great experience, Omkar our guide was so knowledgeable and very friendly and made us feel very comfortable and welcome, he told us all about the history of the island from ancient history all the way up to Portuguese history. He also brought us to meet Amrut and his family who brought us on a boat ride where we got to see many birds and even some crocodiles and we got to see the beautiful sun reflecting off the water which made the river trip so beautiful and special, finally we ended with Omkar bringing us to meet Anil who provided us with some lovely food and we tasted feni, a local goan alcohol in many flavours. And we watched the sunset over the horizon. All in all it was a brilliant experience and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Goa

Omkar was a great tour guide and made this tour definitely worth it. We explored the lovely divar island and got to know about the history of Portuguese church and an ancient temple ruins. We then went for bird and crocodile watching in the river by the mangrove forest hosted by Amrut. We were lucky and spotted few crocodiles. After this we ended the day with Goan Feni tasting hosted by Anil. His restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed the sunset there. I would recommend this trip to everyone 10/10.

The trail is very well planned, it’s easy to find all the details. The ambassadors are prompt. It’s a beautiful mix of landscape, nature, culture, unheard stories of Goa. The trail involves ferry ride, mangroves exploration, bird watching ( we saw crocodiles as well), surreal sunset, authentic home cooked food, fenny tasting. The trail was so interesting because Omkar, our ambassador guide took all efforts. He is humble, knowledgeable, resident of Goa. He is a storyteller, joins the Group members with his leadership. There are pop quizzes and loads of laughter. Had a best time in Goa. It’s a must experience.

Had amazing experience with Soul travelling's The Divar island exploration trip on my recent trip to Goa. Our guide Omkar was having indepth knowledge on history of the place and he spent good amount of time with us taking us through the tour and places on Divar Island. We also had amazing boat ride with Amrut Kaka in Yadoon Ki Kasti and yummy snacks and feni tasting at Anol kaka's traven. Overall very well time spent and very informative trip. Had an enjoyable and enlightening experience delving into Goan history with Karan as the ambassador. Appreciated the way he explained the historical significance of the island and detailed insights into all the monuments. My friend Neel and I had a memorable trip to Divar Island on the 18th of November 2023. Our guides for the day, Koonan and Vaasti did a brilliant job taking us through the geography, the colonial history - how the island is a part of it and the history of the church and temple. Koonan is a very good storyteller and great at jokes! The boat ride was the most interesting part for us as we were made aware of and shown the different species of mangroves and the various birds and animals living there. Feni tasting towards the end was super fun, which I would never forget :) Glad we chose Soul Travelling for the island tour.

It was such a unique experience. This was my third trail with soul travelling and this ome definitely topped the chart for me. Not only was the island beautiful, but our guides Omkar and Koonam ensured that this experience stays etched in our hearts forever. The highlight of the trip was the recently excavated lake site and the fenny tasting session in the end which was gamified as we had to guess all the flavors one by one. All in all, Soul Travelling is a must do when you're in Goa. I already have eyes on the next trail I am going to try.

Joshua was our guide and he was terrific. Very personable and knowledgeable. Excellent communication at the time of booking and pre-tour. I really enjoyed the boat ride into the mangroves and visiting the man who made homemade Feni. We had a small group and I would recommend them highly.

Soul traveling group was excellent. Karan Koonan and Omkar were really good at organizing the trip. They are goans who know quite a lot about Divar & Chorao Islands - really appreciate their efforts in making this trip a big success. One feedback - I'd have loved to stay overnight camping at Divar. Soul Traveling group should genuinely consider the same.

The stepped well temple restored between 2005 - 10 said to have been discovered after some boys' cricket ball disappeared down a 'well' is truly a hidden gem. The majestic Church of Our Lady of Piety with it's role in Portuguese military history is eye-opening. All this was brought alive by Omkar's narration. We learnt about the various species of mangroves, birds and even spotted a crocodile amidst a surprise thunder shower in a boat ride with the knowledgeable Amrut dada on the Mandovi around Divar.

It was an amazing trip! Omkar was a very friendly guide. We saw many water birds and the mangrove variety was interesting. The boat ride in the rain was beautiful. The highlight was seeing a croc!

being a solo traveler i’ve always wanted to get away from the crowd and meet the people who actually live life and not just survive so this is one of my best experiences till date visting the divar island with the one and only my man “Rajat” He’s so good, confident and patient.. make sure you guys keep him around for a long time and he’s so well educated about the things around the island so loved it being around him hats off my man i know youre smile rajat and yess you guys are doing a great job and were up to my standards “THE old school vibe just like the books” Thankyou soul travelling and special thanks to kajal for suggesting this, you’re just not a friend but a blessing <3 ~ Ali
