That was a long hike in the jungle and in the heat (well, when you get to the beaches, the previous doesn’t sound hot anymore 😅)! The visit of the pueblito Taiku (kogui village) was really interesting, to learn about the community traditions and how they use plants. I saw koguis on TV a few years ago and their philosophy about the environment / Mother Nature and how we should protect it really appealed to me, so that’s why I was interested in meeting them. However I regret the lack of motivation of the « team ». The accompanier (Juan David was away on that day) and the kogui guide didn’t show much motivation and were hardly interacting if I didn’t ask questions. It sometimes felt as if I was hiking on my own. For this price and this kind of tour, I’d have expected more interaction.

Voy a dejar mi opinión en ingles por los otros turisticos estadounidenses-- Juan David is the absolute best! He has a clear appreciation and passion for the bounty of the natural world and the nobility of the Kogui way of live. He is full of vitality, sensitivity and warmth, going above and beyond to give our family an amazing experience-- scaling a cliff to fetch a rare type of mango in one instance, gathering medicinal herbs at night for my sick brother in another. He found ways to weave cultural and historical knowledge into personal stories in ways that really made the country feel real, vital and alive. Above all, Juan David has a true love for people, nature, and life. This has helped him forge true relationships with the Kogui, and their wisdom and grace had a profound impact on my family. I cannot recommend this trip, and Juan David as a guide, enough.

Juan David was an amazing guide. Very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. You can tell he has a real passion for what he does. Amazing experience!

One of the best tours I’ve ever experienced. Juan was very knowledgeable of the area. We don’t speak fluent Spanish but he was still able to communicate in a way that made for a great tour. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting colombia.

Juanda es un guía muy bueno que sabe mucho de plantas medicinales y de la historia de los pueblos indígenas de Tayrona Ha eliminado la barrera entre nosotros y los miembros de los pueblos y ha sido un tour muy respetuoso e interesante

Juanda es un guía atento, amable y gran conocedor de las comunidades kogui, la flora y la fauna del parque Tayrona. Nos contó hechos increíbles del poder medicinal (o todo lo contrario) de las plantas del parque, y nos ayudó a conocer en persona a los kogui del Tayrona y su sorprendente e interesante cultura e historia, mientras recorríamos el precioso y exuberante sendero de Calabazo. Un tour para no perdérselo. Enhorabuena!!!

Una experiencia única, llena de paisajes increíbles y mágicos, además, mucho aprendizaje en todo el recorrido, el poder convivir y aprender de la comunidad Kogui es algo maravilloso, muy muy recomendado, es una de las experiencias que todos deberíamos vivir, muy agradecida con la agencia por esa linda experiencia y por su servicio.

Experiencia maravillosa, super recomendado, David es gran conocedor de la zona, de sus plantas, muy atento, los paisajes hermosos, visitar a la comunidad kogui es una experiencia espiritual única, un día único e inolvidable.

Excursion parfaite à ceux qui recherchent une activité authentique à faire à Tayrona: entre découverte de la nature locale, rencontre avec le peuple Kogui et les habitants avoisinants, baignade au coin d’une cascade magnifique et sauvage, randonnée un peu sportive (dénivelé), et finition en moto dans la Sierra nevada et au bord de la plage coco avec un repas délicieux et une vue face à la mer. Tout ceci accompagné et commenté par Juan David, aux petits soins, toujours souriant et enfant du pays! Une journée inoubliable et loin des sentiers touristiques!
