ClydeAlways was a remarkable host and guide! It's rare to meet someone so talented! He told tall tales, sang, recited poetry, and showed off his custom drawings to provide a visual for his stories! I travel a ton and do many tours. This was probably the most unique I've encountered and I had a blast the whole two hours! He also managed to cram in some history, a great stroll through three of the most iconic areas of San Francisco, and provide some wonderful food and fun recommendations. I can't recommend this tour enough. If I could award him 6 stars, I would happily do so!

Clyde was charming, really entertaining, told fun stories, very informative, and was a great conversationalist! Lots of interesting places that were off the beaten path, and the whole tour was a pleasure! He has done his research on the places we visited, and could answer questions about anything. Highly recommend!

Clyde was great! The weather was legit junk and he was willing to brave the elements with us. More than that, Clyde made us forget the rain with his contagious enthusiasm and quick wit. His stories were engaging and sometimes outrageous (in a great way!) It's wonderful to meet someone so obviously enjoying his job, his people and his city. We all found an appreciation and fondness for Clyde's stories, poems and illustrations. Hard not to be in awe of someone so clearly living his dream. If you are looking for an outside the box kind of day, spend it with Clyde. He will make it memorable!

Our tour with Clyde was less like a tour, and more a hangout with an old friend who lives in the city. His brand of story telling mixed fact and San Francisco lore, leaving us to figure out which was which. We very much enjoyed learning the history of the city's historical neighborhoods, hearing stories of San Franciscos most eccentric characters, and the random interactive trivia games. There aren't enough stars to rate how great of an experience Clyde's tour is!

Clyde was about the best tour guide you could ever wish for. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day to walk around town and listen to his tales (some of them tall 😁) of the city. He plays to his audience and flexes accordingly. Myself and my teenage son had the best couple of hours with him.....it all came to an end too soon. We could have spent another two hours with him. I can't recommend this tour enough.

Great experience to do when you first arrive to SF as Clyde has a ton of knowledge and recommendations for the city! Such a fun time walking around the city with Mr. Always!

There are tour guides and then there is Clyde Always. A master raconteur, he weaves into the tour wonderfully entertaining tall tales (in meter!) about the real and imagined characters that have made San Francisco what it is. A few hours with Clyde does not simply inform about the history and significance of famous neighborhoods in The City. It invites you to partake in the creative spirit that has drawn artists and avant-gardes to San Francisco for generations. Take a walk with a local bard. It will be a highlight of your stay.

Clyde is a knowledgeable, creative, and lovely guide. The tour included stories and facts about San Francisco's history and culture, with some delightful poems and tall tales sprinkled throughout. We did this tour as a team outing and we all had a great time. It was the perfect distance, Clyde was at the meeting point early, and his guiding style is highly interactive (not just lecturing). Thank you Clyde!

Clyde Always is an excellent Storyteller. “The Surreal San Francisco Tour” was a delightful experience. The tour has interesting historical facts, and funny and creative stories. I loved the amazing caricatures. I really enjoyed Clyde’s performance.

I loved this. Clyde is a really interesting, down to earth guy. He’s so passionate about storytelling, and you can really tell how much he loves this city. If you’re a writer or musician, I think you would really enjoy this tour.

Clyde led our small band of travelers in a fun story- and music-filled adventure seeing the interesting sites of the Mission and Castro neighborhoods of SF. We learned historical facts and folklore, got tips on the best restaurants and shops, and laughed our way thru the tour. I highly recommend spending 2 hours with the Always highly entertaining Clyde.

This really pulled at my heartstrings. Went with hubby on last days of vacation, an Amtrack train from Chicago to SF. Clyde was simpatico, sensitive, smart and highly talented!! Had tears in my eyes with his farewell song. Won’t forget, and send him blessings for great success and joy that he deserves.

With Clyde you'll visit San Francisco in a totally different way. You’ll here stories, legends, poetry, songs which altogether draw a fabulous portrait of three neighbourhoods of the city. You'll here music, you'll see nice drawings. I had never had such an inspiring experience when visiting any city before. There is a big part of truth in what Clyde shares. But the truth is not always the most interesting part. Fifty per cent is true, claims Clyde, but which fifty? My feeling listening to Clyde was that he is the modern version of the “saltimbanque” (in French) which for me is a highly honoring concept. A “saltimbanque” combines all the arts in a total and accessible performance, in real world environment. This is what it is. So, I was very happy to live this tour. I felt energised and inspired. I strongly recommend it. I want to do it again with my wife next year.
