Miyuki was extremely knowledgeable about Takayama and recommended me some sake breweries and restaurants around the area. I walked around with her for an extra 15 minutes after the tour ended which helped me better orient myself

Excellent tour . We did not have much time in Takayama so did the one hour tour in evening but it was very very good . Forgot the lady who guided us on tour but she was very good as was Yama who was at the tour agency when we arrived .

Very nice tour. We were late on our train to Takayama so had no time to go to hotel first so dragged our bags to the tour agency . There were so good . Yama was sitting there but I forgot the name of the excellent lady who actually did our tour , really enjoyed the tour and the Sake tasting which I did on my own during the tour and they arranged a cab to our hotel from there

Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and was very patient in showing us a lot of the interesting parts of the town. When we took the tour, a s it was still early morning, there weren't too many people walking down the old town streets, making it ideal for taking pictures without too many people in our shot. Outside of the Old Town, our guide also told us about history surrounding the places we went, and also pointed out many of the interesting shops and places we may want to visit after the tour. Thanks to that we didn't run out of things to see during our stay. If you are visiting Takayama without knowing too much about the area, I would highly recommend this tour!

My family and I took a 45 min Old Town Walking Tour with Yama-san and had a great time. Yama-san was a wonderful guide -- very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. I think 45 min was the perfect length for an introductory tour of the town and highly recommend it.

Wonderful online tour experience with Yama-San who explained very well the local culture and exceptional aspects of Takayama. Also cyber-visited the biggest sake brewery and learned a lot about the process. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get closer to the local culture. The tours are not to long and not too expensive. Great deal and I had a great time!

We actually had a tour group guide . The old town had been well restored and worth an hour wandering around. It is adjacent to the morning markets which are not very enthralling

Extremely recommended 45min walking tour (easy stroll) where Yama talked to different interesting historical, cultural and culinary topics when we came across sights as we walked. A lovely walk through the gorgeous old town and new parts of Takayama, at a slow pace and with loads of attention to details that we would have otherwise missed. With the Covid pandemic preventing me from going to Japan as planned this year, I did the Old Town walking tour with a local guide from the Happy Plus company online this morning via Skype with several other people from around the world. First time I've done an interactive virtual tour. It was in real time, and the guide walked around central Takayama giving a commentary as he went. His english was excellent. I was able to ask questions and make comments. I was also able to interact with other people on the tour. It was a excellent 'travel' experience, and well worth while doing. I've visited Takayama three times in the past, and wondered if a virtual interactive tour would be interesting. It definitely was! I learnt more about Takayama, and I was able to ask questions throughout the walking tour. I was able to make comments via my microphone and also via a chat box. Covid has presented us with a new world. So if we can't currently travel internationally, then a virtual tour is a great idea. It certainly brightened my day! The Happy Tour company in Takayama did this very well. I enjoyed it. I could see the company was being Covid safe with hand sanitisers in their office, and the guide wore a protection mask as he walked around Takayama. Of course, I was Covid safe at my computer! This tour made me want to visit Takayama again as soon as we can travel to Japan again! Well done!

I joined this online tour and had a great time knowing and looking at the Takayama old town. The tour guide spoke in English fluently and I think most people can understand easily. This online tour provided an opportunity for us to visit Takayama virtually in the midst of pandemic. The tour was amazing and I hope that I can visit there in person.

I attended an on line tour of Takayama. In these days of lockdown it was nice to be connected with a town in Japan. It was like being travelling again. The guide was professional and kind. Hope to arrange a live tour with them when we will allowed to travel Japan again.
