This was an absolute blast. I've never surfed before, so I booked a private lesson. I appreciated the one-on-one instruction while with others who were taking group lessons. It meant I got some tips and guidance from other instructors too, and I loved that they took photographs which I was able to buy afterwards.

This was our first time in Oahu and initially signed up for family surfing lessons. My son had such a wonderful time that we decided to schedule private surfing lessons for him before returning. Again, he had a blast. The instructor was very friendly and made my son feel at ease. We would highly recommend for kids.

My twin 9 year old boys each did a private 2 hour lesson. Their instructors were amazing with them. They were very patient and encouraging. They even kept them close to each other in the water so that the photographer could get pictures with both of them in it. I would highly recommend.

It was a great time Instructor was Cole, he was great. Should have done a little longer lesson but first time was awesome.

Marc was awesome, such a great instructor and so motivational. I didn’t realize how cool it was to have multiple camera angles on you when you hit a wave. Also, the instructors really make it easy to catch a wave all you need to do is have your pop up on lock.

All the team is amazing and helpful during the lessons. It was my husbands first time and the instructor (Miguel) was helping him during the 2 hours. Also the other instructors were helping the other people if they needed. Because of their great job, my hunsband unlocked his new hobby :)

This was a great experience with Mark and Kai as instructors. My wife and I booked a private 2 hour lesson. Never having surfed before (barely ever been in the ocean), my wife was up and surfing after her second wave! We did end up in more of a group situation, but we got more than enough 1:1 coaching and it in fact was fun to go out with other beginners. Also note that the actual surfing was probably 1.5 of the two hours, including transportation, registration, safety briefing, on-land instruction- but honestly, that was more than enough. Mark and Kai offered to try and get me "one more wave!" but by then we were exhausted and ready to go in. Big Mahalo!

Fantastic experience. Made our two kids (3 and 5) totally comfortable catching waves with their tandem coach. Mom enjoyed her surf lesson as well.

I did a private lesson, and I had a wonderful time! They picked me up at my hotel and dropped me off afterward. (I think they offer this for everyone, not just private lessons.) We did a nice warm-up, my instructor taught me the steps for standing up, and then we got in the water. The instructor helped me get into position, timed all the waves, told me when to start paddling, and told me when to stand up. And I did it! I actually surfed!! I am not a very coordinated or athletic person, but the coaching was so great, and I really was able to surf. The instructors were really nice and supportive and encouraging. Also, Ohana Surf Project has a great spot where they teach you. It is away from the crazy crowding right in Waikiki. I also bought the pictures and videos that they shot of me surfing. They did a great job, and I am really happy that I have pictures and videos of me actually surfing. I had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend Ohana Surf Project. Next time I am in Hawaii, I will definitely do another lesson with them.

Mark and Alana had our 9 and 17 year old riding waves within minutes of entering the water. My son is hooked on surfing now, they were encouraging and very knowledgeable.

I purchased a one on one surfing lesson for my daughter. A female instructor was available and she was amazing! My daughter was up on the board riding waves shortly after being out in the water. She had a wonderful experience with her instructor and I can't recommend the Ohana Surf Project highly enough. I coordinated everything by phone and the office staff was incredible. Be sure to plan on buying the picture and video packet - it is worth far more than the cost. My wife went along and watched from the beach, but was too far away to get nice pictures. With their picture and video packet, we now have great quality and close up pictures and video of our daughter surfing for the very first time - including several 30+ second rides on waves! Also, if you want a lasting reminder of a fabulous experience, be sure to pick up an Ohana Surf Project rash guard - my daughter is enchanted with hers. It isn't even that expensive, which frankly surprised did the amazing quality of the business and employees.

With no surfing experience the guides were able to help us get up right away. It was a great time. I would recommend this company to anyone.
