Pablo and Ivan were so helpful and kind. Me and my friend were very much beginners and they taught us a lot. Totally recommend to any beginners as they take you where the waves are up to your level.

The best decision I made was to sign up for surf lessons with Pablo from Chingon Surf Lessons while visiting Puerto Escondido. No matter your skill level, you only have to watch the point-break surf at La Punta once to realize your attempts to surf will be challenging with the crowds of surfers and the speed, size, and rules of the waves. But Pablo and his crew were born and raised in the area, they are professional, and respected by the other coaches on the beach. You will have a much more enjoyable time surfing in the PE area with them by your side. As a relative beginner to the sport, Pablo helped to improve my surfing skills, wave knowledge, and confidence. Pablo keeps the number of lessons small to ensure your safety. On numerous occasions, I witnessed the large group lessons putting their students on crowded waves, especially after a long wait for a set to roll in, which (though hard to believe) resulted in numerous collisions. I did ten private 2-hour sessions with Pablo but never once did this happen to me. He would advise me on the perfect timing to enjoy a less crowded and beautiful wave. I loved it! Also, as a female taking lessons by myself, I felt 100% safe with Pablo. He would even pick me up at my hotel in La Punta and take me to secret surf beaches where I had magical days surfing lefts and rights with virtually “no people”!! Many visitors to the Puerto Escondido area get frustrated with the surf, but not me. I had the best time. Muchas gracias to Pablo at Chingon for making it possible. Without a doubt, I 100% recommend them. Don’t hesitate over this decision. Your surfing will improve, you won’t tick off other surfers, and you won’t get hurt. You’ll just surf!

Highly recommend. Went with a group of friends, most of the groups were beginners and everyone was able to catch a few waves with their excellent instruction. We all got one on one time and left with a huge smile on our face.

We had such an awesome morning learning how to surf with Pablo, Diego, Emilio, & Ivan! We were three beginner surfers, and they made us feel so safe. We started with a quick theory and safety lesson on the beach, practiced our pop-up form, then headed into the water. We each had our own instructor who was by our side the entire time we were in the water, giving us instructions. We learned so much and were all consistently standing up during the lesson! You should absolutely choose this team for your surf lessons in Puerto!!!

Surfing with Pablo and his squad was pure bliss and enjoyment with guaranteed success. Surfing classes are very well structured, they briefed us in with theory, safety and wave conditions before we jumped into the water. All instructions are super nice and the team really knows how to spark a love for surfing or get you back to focus if they see you struggling. After our first class we knew immediately that we wanted to come back for the follow up lessons.

We had 5 days of semi-private lessons with Pablo! He was a great teacher and it was an amazing experience. It was our first time and with his help we managed to ride quite some waves (already on the first day) The only thing we would do differently next time is a 1-day break in between. Thanks, Pablo!

We booked two beginner lessons which were totally perfect for us without any preknowledge. Pablo showed us how it's done and we had a lot of fun with him :) He really wanted us to stand some waves and was also hyped with us as we did it. I would say the perfect support you need. All in all definitely recommendable and also the price was not that much in my personal opinion for 2h and the equipment. See you next time in puerto escondido Pablo but then on some bigger waves ;)

I took three lessons with Pablo in May and it was the best experience I've ever had surfing! I've snowboarded for years and decided I wanted to learn how to surf a few years ago too. Despite having taken a few lessons with other surf instructors before, I still would say that I was a beginner and not very confident trying to catch or ride a wave. Pablo was very helpful in correcting my form and explaining the basics for how to spot a good wave and when to start paddling for it. He was very patient with me when I was struggling with a certain aspect and was always encouraging! I originally only booked one lesson with him, but was so happy afterwards that I immediately booked a second lesson for the same day and a third for the following day. I feel much more confident, now that I've had such good one on one lessons with Pablo. If you really want to learn and improve, while also having fun, you should definitely take lessons with Pablo!

Wow Chingon. I have visited Pablo, his brothers, and Javier four times now in Puerto Escondido (NY is home). This place is beautiful. People are great. The weather is on point. And the waves. This is where and who you want to learn surfing from. Pablo took me from never surfing - I just randomly decided to try it my first visit Nov. 2021 - to helping me get better with each lesson and now I catch waves, pop up, and stay on till I ride it out. And all with Pablo’s help. He’s a great teacher. Super knowledgeable. And just a great dude. We’ve gotten plenty of beers . I’ve worked with Javier before too - also good. A bunch of good guys. These beaches have some of the most beautiful skies and sunsets you will see. Watching the surfers here is so much fun. And being one is equally fun. You will have a great time with Pablo. Pablo and Emilio were great! My boyfriend and I were total beginners but through their help, we were able to catch many waves! Even though I was a bit scared at the beginning, since I am not very strong, it was so much fun and they helped me in every possible way, so that I had an awesome time! Also they bring everything that you need for surfing, even a rash guard. Furthermore, we were lucky and saw some sea turtles during surfing in La Punta! If you are in Puerto Escondido you should definitely try surfing with Pablo!

It was first time for me to try surfing and I was coming from Europe to Mexico. So I had to arrange a teacher for surfing lessons. After searching on internet I found Chingon. Pablo was very helpful and straight forward for arranging the schedule and payment. Everything was very smooth and problem free. When I arrived to Puerto Escondido and lessons started I realized that I did a right choice. One to one lessons of Pablo were very informative and fun. I can say, He is expert on teaching the techniques for a beginner. He also chooses the best location, time and even the waves for your level. Besides Pablo, I had chance to get 1 lesson from his brother. And he was excellent also. So just pick them and have fun on the waves. Definitely recommend. Definitely would choose them again.
