We had the best time!! The instructor was so kind and patient helping everyone get up to ride some waves in!! We will definitely be returning to Hoku Water Sports for surfing next time.

My 11 & 14 year old daughters had an absolute blast! Wish I could remember their instructors name, cuz he was fun and so patient. They both stood up right away and he was encouraging throughout the entire lesson. Thanks so much for a great time!! 🌺🏄‍♀️

We had a fun “bucket list” time with Kele as our instructor! He was a great instructor- kind, patient and encouraging. He was willing and able to modify the activity so that even though we’ll never be surfers at 70 we had a blast! Thanks Kele! Highly recommend him!

This was one of the best activities we did on the island. Our instructor was knowledgeable and got all six of us surfing during the lesson. My four kids (ages 7-15) loved every minute. Worth every penny. Totally recommend doing during your stay.

David was such a good and patient instructor. Really took the time to help each of us and gave us great tips each time we got up to try again!

What an incredible experience! I’m a 42 year old who has dreamed of riding waves ever since seeing Point Break as a kid. I finally got the chance to learn the basics in Kauai. Kele was exactly the kind of instructor I hoped for. He made the process fun, memorable and safe. I was able to get up by my second wave and ride to shore. Hoku has big stable boards to help beginners like me. Awesome!

Great attitude and instructions from our teacher, Kele. We both were absolute newbies and by the end of our session, we were successfully riding waves all the way into shore. Well worth it!

Surfing (or at least attempting to) quintessential when in Hawaii. I mean, you HAVE to try it. Even if you think you won't even make it up on the board. We checked in at a small hut on hotel grounds and the process was simple enough. This was truly a small-group as there was only one other couple there with us and, despite the fact that they had a little more experience than us, our instructor, Kele, never made us feel neglected or behind. In fact, he was positivity personified. Definitely the person any first timer would want out there with them, guiding and encouraging every step of the way!

My 15 yo had a great time learning to surf with Kele. Friendly staff at the check in area. Poipu is a great area for first time surfers. My son is planning to go back today and rent a surfboard.

My girls had a blast! They were able to surf the first time up and had an amazing coach! The waves were easy to learn on and they were confident!

Our son loved it. First time ever surfing and he truly enjoyed himself! They took to the time to teach every single person. The small classes were just right!
