This is a really fun and interesting tour. Picked us up at the Cruise Port which was a BIG plus! Walking through the spice market was a photographers dream. Seeing women carrying giant sacks of shallots was unbelievable! Our guide Taufiq very knowledgeable and super friendly.

First off I’d like to thank Yogi for a wonderful day. The booking of the tour and the communication with the tour provider before the tour was great and helped alleviate any worries. This was a full day tour with several stops. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore and enjoy the beauty of each stop. I have nothing but compliments for Yogi and all the stops we made. Each stop was different from the other, but equally beautiful and interesting. During the tour we asked Yogi for a few extra things/stops and he didn’t hesitate to accommodate our requests. Thank you Yogi for everything.

Oki, the guide, and Faisol, the driver, took good care of us on this city tour. The most memorable part was the walk of through the fish market, where locals were clearly not used to seeing tourists. We got a chance to interact a little with some of the people, which was wonderful. A nice way to spend an afternoon, but remember it is just a city tour.

We learnt about the history of Surabaya. The trip through the city was very enjoyable to everyone in the group.

We didn't expect much when we booked this excursion (our cruise ship offered almost nothing in Surabaya), so we just decided to try this out. Our tour guide was absolutley amazing and we saw many beautiful and wonderful things. Lunch was also tasty and special, although I would have enjoyed sitting with and talking to our tour guide more. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to find out more about Surabaya.

We had such a fabulous day touring with Olivia! She was such a wonderful ambassador for Surabaya. In 6 hours we toured Temple Hong Tiek Hian, and played with the puppets, then enjoyed a few puppet shows. We walked through the Wet Market, where Olivia bought fruit for us to try. At the waterfront, we visited Sanggar Agung Temple, so picturesque! Before lunch we stopped at an Indonesian Craft and Gift Center, filled with a huge selection of batiks, carvings, clothing, sculptures and edibles, and very affordable! We had a delicious Indonesian lunch at Pondok, Tempo Doeloe. We then visited the Heroes Monument and learned the history of the Independence of Surabaya, also at Hotel Majapahit. Finally we walked through the dried fish market and were treated to a famous dessert cake, on our way back to the ship. We so enjoyed our time in Surabaya with Olivia!

Iwan and driver did an excellent job of showing us the city during our short visit. Was very flexible and modified the itinerary to fit our needs and the available time. Highlights were the Hero Monument and the Mosque of Al-Akbar. Lunch at local restaurant was also very good.

We had a really interesting private tour with Taufiq. He was a wonderful host, and it was a great introduction to Surabaya. We appreciated how accommodating the tour was, as our guide and driver adjusted the schedule and times for us to see everything we wanted and also fit in a little shopping. I would highly recommend for anybody visiting.

Olivia was a perfect guide through the wonders of Surabaya. We loved experiencing the busy markets and tasting new fruits, drinks and street foods. She had perfect timing to get in the sights we wanted to see along with a relaxing and delicious lunch and coffee. She explained expertly the history and culture of her country and city. We just wish we didn't have a time restraint for our visit. Olivia was the best.

What a great customize tour with Fian the tour guide and Ang our driver. My husband had a great tour of the retire submarine. Lunch of grilled fish and rice at Temple Doeloe was superb and final visit was to the Hotel Majapahit.

We had a great day visiting historical landmarks from the colonial era. Nita was very supportive in accommodating our requests, and she was able to gain permission for access at buildings that were important to us. Our time is Surabaya was a great experience because of her guidance!

Taufiq was knowledgeable, fun, and he speaks impeccable English. We had a very comfortable ride around the city, took some great pictures, and a certain highlight for me was the restaurant he took us to for the (included) lunch. It was so delicious! We ended a little early because of the pouring rain, but we had a great day and everyone was very happy with this tour.

Our guide was very knowledgeable with history, politics, religions, we learned things that no other tour gave us. Very puntual, to pick up and back (cruise). Good lunch, interesting places.

Young Putri was our guide. We were impressed with her command of English and her knowledge of Indonesia's history. We gave her a list of favorite sites we wanted to see, and she did her best to accommodate us. Our walk through the Arab Quarter was very interesting. We skipped Chinatown, as we had seen many Chinatowns before. Unfortunately, the House of Sampoerna was closed, and since it was Friday, we could not get inside any of the mosques. Putri suggested a number of other interesting sites which we were happy to visit. We did enjoy the excellent lunch where we encountered some of the people from our cruise ship who were on the ship's tour. Our charge was $120 per person (including pick-up and drop-off at the harbor pier) for a private tour in an air-conditioned SUV, whereas the cheapest ship excursion was $150 per person to see the highlights of Surabaya on a big tour bus. Our only regret was that we had to be back on the ship by 3:30 pm, otherwise we could have seen even more sights.

Had a wonderful guide Nam, who was fun, energetic, spoke great english, and very accommodating to modify the tour to what we wanted. The sights were interesting and it was great to learn about life in that part of Java. Thanks for the great time. Dale and Barb Harper

Helpful and friendly guide, willing to take us wherever we wished. I think this is the prettiest city in Indonesia and recommend the service.

Surabaya was the last port on our nearly month long cruise before the ship returned to Singapore. We had already experienced several great Viator private tours on the cruise. We found our guide easily and on time. Nice, clean, comfortable car with AC. We gave the guide and driver our wishes for the day understanding that traffic, distances & time restrains would dictate the final tour. It was a Friday and I think everyone in Surabaya had decided to leave town for a 3 day weekend. Our guide was David & the driver's name, Boy. We called him "crocodile man". The Indonesian word for crocodile is Boyo. What a phenomenal driver in all the traffic! David was a super guide with excellent English skill and a vast knowledge of info about the places we requested to see. In the middle of the tour we were treated to a huge & delicious lunch at a very nice restaurant. Because the ship was leaving mid-afternoon, because we took our time at the places we wanted to visit, and because of the Friday traffic, we did not get to our last requested place but we consider the tour perfect in every way! One of the best in our 32 year history of cruising and taking tours. Highly recommend the company, guide and driver. The tour is completely customizable within the time restraints of your day in port. Tell the driver what you do not want to see i.e. factories, museums, the beach or whatever and what you do want to see i.e. temples or waterfalls or batik shops, etc. David and Boy will make it all happen if humanly possible.

Communication before the trip was excellent and then Nita was so professional, personable and very accommodating. Sam was a pleasant and capable driver. Nita changed the tour to suit our needs and our visit to the Traditional Market, the special kampong and the becak ride were memorable. We had a very enjoyable day in Surabaya and it could not have been any better.

I went on the Surabaya City Tour with Nita (guide) and Lillis (sopir). It was a great morning and they made it a special visit. Thank you to both of them who were excellent company. Nita is sharp and knows the city well and her english is very good. It was the day after Heroes Day and it was great to be at the monument to see the young children dressed in uniforms.
