I highly recommend doing a guided tour through monument valley. Our guide was Cheryl, very pleasant and knowledgeable of the landscape, Navajo traditions the importance of family and utilizing the land and animals, nothing goes to waste. The road is unpaved and bumpy (this reason alone is worth going on a guided tour), Cheryl took us to very interesting points in the valley. The sunrise tour was wonderful!

We went in the Monument Valley Sunrise tour and had a great experience. Carl did a great job of getting is to a viewpoint for sunrise. It was spectacular. He provided us with a great deal of history and context to the valley which was greatly appreciated. The tour was organized and well run with plenty of stops at interesting features. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get off the beaten path and see some of the less familiar sites in the Valley. Great tour.

We went off the main road to see a wonderful sunrise, and unique arches and formations. Our guide explained the importance of the sacred beliefs of the Navajo people. He also gave interesting insights to his peoples’ lives. As much as those were important and revealing, we felt that he dwelled on some points excessively which created a feeling of “stretching” to fill time. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars. Consider this a 4.5+ review. I was also glad we rode in their van rather than our car. The road, and especially the side roads, really require an off road, 4 wheel drive. We got tossed around quite a bit in their van. Yet, overall, a very interesting, enlightening, and enjoyable experience.

This was such an awesome tour and a great way to see Monument Valley Tribal Park. Our guide was Jameson who was informative and patient with our small group. We did decide to travel during off season additionally opted for a very early tour which allowed our group to have very few other visitors. There were no long lines or obstructed views from others trying to capture the beauty this place has to offer. Jameson shared about the history of the Navajo people, their current status in the U.S and overall day to day lifestyles. This tour is suitable for those of varying fitness levels but may feel less eventful for those seeking a full hiking experience. We drove through most of the park from attraction to attraction. Highly recommend packing layers if completing a morning tour as it will be chilly. Jameson showed us the perfect places to take photos and explained the meaning of all the messas. This was my second tour with Monument Valley Tribal Tours on my trip and I cannot wait to return to complete another tour with them.

Great opportunity to see parts of the reservation not available in the scenic drive (and not have to tackle the bumpy roads for the scenic drive). Marjory was great and very knowledgeable (and a dab hand with a iPhone camera too!) definitely worth doing.

Excellent tour by Marjorie on our Sunrise Tour of Monument Valley and some of the backcountry. Although the morning was a bit overcast, and unfortunately did not have a glorious sunrise, the tour was still amazing! Marjorie shared a lot of historical information about the Navajo who own the land and shared with our group some sights and viewpoints not normally seen. Definitely recommend, we would do it again!

Such a unique and wonderful experience bought to life by our guide Cheryl. You get to visits some of the best parts of the valley which are only accessible to tours, and this really makes the tour really unique. Learning so much about Navajo traditions and the importance of the tribal park made it really the best way to discover Monument valley. The sunrise was the icing on the cake!

I cannot say enough about this company. We didn’t book with Monument Valley Tribal Tours, but with a different company - let me explain. All tours appear to meet in the same spot, and so we were waiting for our guide along with another couple. We were 15-20 minutes past our pickup time and our guide (with the other company) hadn’t shown. I tried calling the company with no success. We didn’t really have a solution. Then Cheryl from Tribal arrived for the tour with the other couple. She realized immediately that there was a problem, and graciously tried to fix it by attempting to contact the company we had booked with. She offered to take us on her tour, and stated that the details would be worked out between the two companies afterwards. At this point, the other company did call me, and we said we would go along with Tribal Tours. A bumpy start to be sure! But our experience in the end was spectacular and so memorable. Cheryl is an incredible tour guide, and if you’re lucky enough to get her, you are very fortunate. We visited many of the popular spots in Monument Valley, as well as the lesser-travelled places that you are able to access on a guided tour. Cheryl shared details about her heritage and Navajo culture, as well as personal stories which were very informative. We learned some of the language and stories about the Creator and Mother Earth and about the spiritual meaning that exists in Monument Valley. It was a great experience and we are very appreciative that Cheryl from Tribal Tours adopted us for her tour. Her kindness and the effort to go above-and-beyond will not be forgotten. Thank you Cheryl and thank you Monument Valley Tribal Tours.

My daughter and I did the sunrise tour. Marjorie was our guide. She was excellent in every aspect of our tour. She told us about how her family had lived in the area for many generations. She was extremely knowledgeable about local flora and fauna, history of the people that lived here for centuries, where the best photo ops were, and where all the best historical sites were found. It felt like we became family to a certain extent. We highly recommend Marjorie as a guide, if you can… request her… you won’t be disappointed.

Marjory made our sunrise tour unforgettable! Starting an hour before sunrise, we explored fantastic spots, including exclusive ones only accessible with a guide. The bumpy roads were smoother with Marjory leading the way, and we're thrilled we went for the tour instead of driving ourselves. Marjory's friendliness and cultural knowledge added an extra layer of richness to the experience. Plus, her rendition of traditional Native American songs during the sunrise was absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend to everyone!

We had an amazing experience touring Monument Valley with Cheryl of Monument Valley Tribal Tours. We were enveloped in a thick layer of fog and a thin layer of crusty snow, which treated us to an experience we could not have imagined - different for sure but mystical and rewarding. The tour was just my daughter and I and the unusual weather meant that we had more time to chat with our wonderful guide about the land, formations, their importance to the Navajo people and lots of other topics. Despite the weather, we had a very rewarding experience. Highly recommend the touring company and ask for Cheryl!

Marjory was a great tour guide. She made sure we had time at each of the photo sites and even sang a Navajo song with her brother for us.

The sunrise and the monuments. Our Navajo guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and knew the attraction of each stop and directed us where to go to enjoy the unique character and sight of each location.

An absolutely brilliant tour of monument valley, watching the sun rise over the rocks and seeing how they change colour was breathtaking. Our guide Frank was fantastic taking us to all the main sights and more. As the sun was coming up he played his flute, it was absolutely magical. We had a brilliant time. Would totally recommend this tour 100%.

Marjory gave us a great sunrise tour with some instrumental music while the sun rise in the horizon. She grew up in the area and she is the real deal. A lot of fun to be around!

This was such a amazing experience. Marjory was such a wonderful tour host. She had all the local knowledge and knew exactly where to get the best photos in the valley. Marjory brought us to the most magical place for the sunrise and even performed a little drum ceremony for us as the sun came up behind the monuments. It was just divine. Can't recommend enough. hot tip, make sure you rug up for the first part of the tour as it is very chilly before the sun comes out.
