Excellent tour and very well prepared guide. Francisco answered any and all questions we asked. His answers were always thorough. His demeanor always full of patience and consideration. Nibardo, the local guide, was also a wealth of information. We especially enjoyed the agua de panela with arepa he had waiting for us at the end of the tour as well as the visit with him and his cat Ceniza.

My partner and I Loved this rejuvenating hike so much. Our guide Louis was very punctual, informative and friendly. He even let us choose the pace we wanted to go at. The driver was very kind as well. I loved the authentic Colombian food as it was fresh and healthy.

This trip was great. Our guide, Francisco, was so friendly and knowledgeable. The landscape was really unique and not something any of us had seen before. Since it was a private tour we were able to go at our own speed which was really helpful since most of us struggled with the altitude. Overall the hike itself is not too difficult, but be prepared for the increase in elevation from Bogota. Bring layers even if you think you don't need them.

I had a great time on this hike with Liz! This hike can be challenging at some points and, depending on the weather, muddy. I highly recommended bringing good hiking boots and layers. The landscape is stunning! We were the only ones hiking that day and I felt like we were on another planet! Highly recommend this tour!

Wow, this is an incredible place! I felt I was in an other world! Francisco was my guide for 8h, he could explain all about this ecosystem and the history of Colombia, he was really friendly, full of good energy. You start by walking through this ecosystem for +|- 8km, the hike is not difficult, then you have a warm drink at the farmer house. And for lunch we went to eat at a local restaurant! It was super good !

This was a unique adventure that I highly recommend for other travelers! The Sumapaz Preserve and Paramo landscape were beautiful, and we felt privileged to be able to explore there. We found a miraculous peace and calm outside of Bogota and enjoyed the contrast to city life for the day. Our guide--Luciani--was excellent. He was very knowledgable and super passionate about the area and about his work. Our local expert--Don Nevardo--grew up in the area and shared its unique features with us in a way that made us feel special. Our driver navigated the ins and outs of Bogota with efficiency and ease--even through significant post-hike rush hour traffic--and shared his insider knowledge of the neighborhoods we drove through. We brought water and snacks, but Luciani made sure we had the opportunity to get these things before our hike (and yes, you will want them!). We had wonderful weather but prepared for heavy rain in case. Our lunch was great and really hit the spot after our hike.

This was a once in a lifetime hiking adventure! I really enjoyed my tour with Ivonne and our local guide. I learned so much about the paramos and their unique ecosystem. Highly recommend this tour for anyone outdoorsy who wants to see a unique Colombian landscape!

Amazing tour through the santuario. The ride was pleasant already since we went through neighborhoods you wouldn’t normally come as a tourist. The guide was amazing and we had a great laugh. Along with a local farmer he took us to the most beautiful places. Afterwards we had a delicious lunch at the family-parilla of the driver. Great day!

Ok, my guide Luis said this was the third worst weather he’s seen on this hike. Pouring rain, wind, and basically hiking along (and in) a trail that has turned to a mini river. Despite all of that, I had a freaking blast! My boots are still soaked days later! Luis was such a great guide - from sharing knowledge to actually connecting personally. Seriously such a great time! Didn’t really have any issues with the altitude either, which was my biggest concern. So fun!

This was an incredible hike that is not to be missed! Even though the weather never cleared up, walking through the clouds to see all the frailejones and other plants/animals was magical. My guides Jorge Castiblanco from Gran Colombia and the farmer whose land we initially entered through were both wonderful and informative. We were able to easily book a private tour for two the night before we left after our other company cancelled on us twice last minute. Highly recommend this tour instead of DIY'ing it as we definitely would have gotten lost in Sumapaz and also would have taken a long time to get to by bus.

We had a wonderful trip to the Sumapaz Paramo with a stop at a local market. David was very knowledgeable and we had some great conversations all day. We had an awesome driver and local guide who both helped make the day very special. Our post-hike lunch prepared by the local guide's family was delicious! All in all it was a really great day!

Our tour of Sumapaz was one of the best days of our trip! Our guide, Dave, was fantastic providing us an in-depth insight into the culture, history, and environment of this very unique location. The altitude and wetness breed very interesting plant life and the mountain views were amazing. The food and hospitality of the local family was delightful as well. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bogota.

I can highly recommend a day in the paramos of sumapaz with this tour. It is a wonderful, magic place to see. Even if it's not sunny, the place is breathtaking if u love nature and want to escape from the city. I spent the day with my private guide David. He catches me up at the hotel and we had already a blast on the ride. He knows a lot about kolumbia, bogota and well the paramos. Ask and he will tell u :) we catched some food on the way to bring it to the locals. While we walked they cooked our lunch. Wow... Amazing and very authentic. The walk is about 2 to 3 hours and u should bring good shoes and a rain jacket. Check it out it's definitely with it 😊

The páramo is a really unique ecological environment, and if you're in Bogotá, visiting it is a great way to spend the day. Our guide, Luis, was fantastic, and we were really lucky with the weather. Given that the hike is at high altitude in the mountains, the weather can change quickly, so come prepared for cold and rain, and but sun and heat. The food included with the tour was great, the scenery was amazing, and we had a lot of fun.

It was really nice, the great organization and preparation from the agency made a really good experience. Besides that the landscape is amazing. I really enjoyed all the information given by our guide and that there were no waiting times, everything as schedule.
