This tour was filled with a plethora of historical information about the era from the first people in the area up to the present time and owners of the property today. David did a fantastic job of using storytelling to make the history come alive and interesting. The property is beautiful and I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to learn more about the history of the area. It would be great for field trips as well.

What a great history lesson about the Tocobaga Indians and how life was lived in this part of Florida from early 1000 AD. David is your guide and a member of the family who owns the land. He is very knowledgeable and obviously loves what he does. Peacocks roaming the area are also fun.

a little gem in St. Pete. David is an excellent tour guide, storyteller, caretaker, etc for this little piece of history. If you want to learn something about this area from 1000 A.D. to the present, take this tour. We will definitely be taking friends and visitors here in the future.

Having enjoyed the tour previously, I brought a few friends along for a second tour. We are all locals, but not native Floridians. The tour does not disappoint! David is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area, and you understand immediately that his family's deep connection to the property is one of gratitude and preservation. David provides countless wonderful tidbits and stories about the Tocobaga tribe and other characters of the time. Of course, being there in the spring, and seeing the resident male peacocks perform and display for the females, just added to the charm! I highly recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike who enjoy learning about local history.

I have been wanting to do this for months since moving to the area just to learn about the peacocks and general area. It was phenomenal, entertaining and highly informative. The fact that you are learning from the family that has occupied this area since the 1940s just makes the whole experience even more personal. It is the ultimate hidden gem tour that makes you feel like you’re a better person for having learned about! Do not hesitate to book it

More than there’s so much to see. There is. There’s so much to LEARN. David was an intelligent, sociable, wealth of knowledge. He and his family have made themselves the caretakers of this rich Florida history. His presentation is age appropriate for everyone. It was just a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. As my husband said afterwards, ‘this was 100 x’s anything he expected’.

A unique experience for adults or older children. Wear comfy attire when attending the tour. Historic tour on private property. Peafowl do not bother you. They may wonder area by you, but are NOT aggressive.

We really enjoyed the 90-minute tour which was energetically presented by David Anderson. It included a seated introduction which set the scene for what was to come—beautiful property with scenic views of a Native-American mound listed in the National Register of Historic Places, a boat ramp with an amazing view of the Treasure Island area, and the magical feel of walking through the nature of centuries past! Peacocks were showing off their beauty and grace to each and every spectator! Parking is easy, the cost is minimal, and the experience is wonderful!
