An excellent tour. Josko is very knowledgeable and gives a great presentation. I was not excited about taking a guided tour, but I am sure glad I did! Enough facts to keep it informative and enough humor to keep it entertaining and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour!

My husband decided to take a tour with Joško on the spot and we’re so glad we did! He has a wonderful personality and knowledge of interesting historical events and stories that deepened our understanding of the Diocletian, his amazing palace, and their unique roles in history. Also, loved the little tidbits of inside stories sprinkled in a long the way. We had a lot of fun learning all about the Diocletian’s Palace & Split Old Town with Joško!

This was an excellent tour. A terrific introduction to Croatia and Split by a knowledgeable, smart, engaging guide who loves his country and city. An appropriate amount of humor and irreverence mixed with a serious consideration of the cross winds that have faced Splitcand Croatia over the centuries. Excellent tour of Diocletian’s Palace packed with information and details that really were great to know. Josco is a very knowledgeable guide. He spent extra time with our group, answering questions and guiding us through all the areas of the palace. One of the best guided tours we have ever had. Highly recommended!!

Joško took us on an amazing walk through split! Among other things we visited the basements beneath the original palace and Joško told us all about how the roman emperor diocles not only envisioned his last retreat but managed to build it with the finest limestones from brec. We felt that joško was very knowledgable and he had a passionate and way of explaining. He managed to answer all our questions expertly. We met Josko at the Bronze Gate of the Roman Palace on our first day in Split. The tour he took us on was amazing. Josko was knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. He kept us entertained throughout, even our teenage sons! It really set us up for our stay in Split.

There ended up being 6 of us for the tour, Josko was a FANTASTIC guide, not only walking us through the area (and even some bonus time after), but wonderfully describing the history and the modern day usage of the area. You could tell that he loved the area and that he loved the Roman history associated with the castle and city. It was great to see the castle and other areas of Split and it was a highlight of a fabulous vacation! (Review was delayed because we just found the receipt and tour operator name!)

Joko is a native of Split, and clearly knows every nook and cranny of the city, as well as its history, culture and customs. His attention to detail and knowledge, combined with an ability to tell a great story, made the city and its past come alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Split with Josko. He tailored the trip to our interests and pace (my parents are older and needed to sit and rest from time to time), and made the history of this fascinating city come alive. Highly recommended!

Two of us took a wonderful palace tour with Josko in November, 2023. He started his tour with a very helpful overview of the history of the Palace as well as a description of what we would be looking at. This gave us some important context for the tour. We then went through the cellers under the palace, the remains of the upper floor and many of the historic buildings and monuments. Josko demonstrated an in depth knowledge of the palace itself as well as the important people and events of the time. He presented his information in an enjoyable, unhurried, and easy to understand manner. He has a good sense of humor and an obvious passion for sharing the history of Croatia. We were going to tour the palace ourselves, but we learned so much more with Josko as our guide. He also speaks excellent English. We highly recommend him!

Joe was a great guide. He spoke perfect English, had a ton of insight on palace, and added a ton of fun facts about everything we saw. We would have been lost without him! He also gave great food local recommendations after the tour was over.

My fiance and I were wandering around near the south entrance of Diocletian’s Palace hoping to find someone who might be able to give a decent tour of the palace. We ran into Joško, who was looking for people to join his group history tour. We decided to give him a try, expecting it would be good enough to give us an idea of what all we might spend time on. But it was so much better than we expected! He’s a local and knows so much about the history of Croatia, Diocletian, and the palace. He told us local stories about how Diocletian was as a person and pointed out several little spots along the tour that we would have missed otherwise. He was very personable, and offered suggestions for the rest of our stay in Split. We highly recommend his tour - he was absolutely wonderful and again, so knowledgeable about the history of his home.

This was our first visit to Croatia and the city of Slit. We were led to believe that there really wasn't much to do or see in Split, so we had no previous excursion booked. We went to the Palce and really didn't know what to try and do, when we came across Josko Zovic. Josko or Joseph, promised us the most incredible Historic walking tour of the Emperor's City and Cellars museum, and boy did he deliver! It was the best walking tour that we have ever been on! We were a group of 9 and Josko was patient, knowledgeable and went out if his way to ensure that we had a fabulous time and even gave us more information at the end of our tour. His knowledge was outstanding and the experience he provided, unbelievable and one we will NEVER forget! If you are lucky enough to go to Split, you need to use Josko, I promise you, you will not be disappointed! I know people hound you to use their services and you never know who to use, but Josko was absolutely brilliant and worth every penny! Thank you Josko for the most incredible experience of our visit to Croatia. You have our entire group wanting to come back to stay longer!!
