We were lucky to find this private tour after a last minute cancelation during our recent trip. Due to wind many other tours were being canceled and we really wanted to get in the water. We are so happy our other plans were canceled and we found Darwin & Marlene. They helped us create a great memory during a beautiful morning in Akumal bay. From the moment we booked communication was clear and concise including directions, arrival times, and what to expect. Marlene greeted us directly as we arrived in Akumal and guided us through everything we needed including lockers, showers, etc. Darwin then gave us an amazing PRIVATE tour of the beautiful Akumal waters where we saw over a dozen turtles, stingrays, and a cannon from of an old shipwreck. He shared so much information in a way that was easy to understand and allowed us to appreciate this special sanctuary. My daughter in law got a bit seasick due to the rough seas that day and Marlene personally guided her back to the beach and made sure she was okay so that the rest of us could finish the tour. When next we are in Akumal we will be visiting again. Five stars for Darwin & Marlene!

Communication to arrange this tour was brilliant. Really easy to organise. Darwin had everything ready for us arriving and was very welcoming. We managed to see 14 turtles, 2 sting ray and lots of Blue Tang fish as well as plenty of other fish. The whole time, Darwin was giving us really interesting information on the biodiversity within the area we were snorkelling in. My wife isn’t as confident in the sea as I am and Darwin recognised this early on and ‘towed’ her using a safety ring. This made the tour much more comfortable for my wife. This level of customer service is excellent and I would highly recommend this tour!!! We were even given photos and videos from the tour, which was an added bonus

Excellent!! So glad we booked with Darwin, the whole process was so easy, we were well looked after and the turtles he showed us were incredible. The price includes your locker, pass to the beach, almost an hour swimming with turtles, stingray and fish, all gear if you need it (we had our own full face masks) and life jackets. Please do not worry if you’re not the strongest of swimmers, Darwin pulls you along as you hold on to a ring that let’s you concentrate on having fun and just marvelling at the turtles. There are plenty in the bay, we saw over ten and then headed to where he spied a stingray. The whole experience is so good, so easy and allows you to enjoy the turtles as well as respecting them 10/10 to Darwin for an unforgettable and educating experience😍.

The tour was very well organised. Marlene gave us all necessary information in advance and Darwin, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the marine life we encountered. Darwin also ensured we had ample opportunities to view the turtles and other marine life without disturbing their natural habitat. Darwin our tour guide was very polite and coordinated everything before the tour. Our experience was amazing and he showed us the amazing underwater world. He is very experienced and also equipped to make great photos with his GoPro.

Akumal is a magical place but Darwin our tour guide made this an incredible experience. They communicated with us before hand about what to expect, where to park, and all the important details. As we arrived the next morning in our rental car, Darwin appeared out of nowhere with a smile and from then on we were in the hands of the best guide. We saw our first turtle within the first minute or two. From 5 feet away! We saw probably 10 turtles total with Darwin guiding us the whole way share really interesting information with us about the turtles and the environment while still having fun the whole time. -Make sure you bring a rash-guard or swim-shirt as sun screen is not allowed. I am bald, so I probably should have worn a hat too. -Arrive early. There are lockers for your belongings, changing rooms, showers, etc. but if you have never been there before it might take a second. -Don't bother bringing a camera. Darwin took photos for us and allowed us to just enjoy this incredible place and these incredible animals.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Darwin is so professional, knowledgeable, and professional. He had everything we needed and more! Totally worth every penny especially being a private tour. HIGHLY recommend!! He also took awesome pictures for us. Thank you Darwin!

We had a great experience with Darwin and Marlene from start to finish. The booking process was easy. Darwin made sure we knew how to get to Akumal Beach from our hotel with ease even dropped a pin of the bus stop. Marlene collected us so we wouldn’t get lost! The actual snorkeling session was amazing seeing 11 turtles and 2 stingrays even a barracuda! Darwin is very knowledgeable (marine biologist) and was a nice private tour unlike those around us which seemed crowded. Darwin cared for the animals and our experience. 100% recommend

What an experience! Had the best time. I messaged Darwin at almost 9pm and asked if he could squeeze us in at anytime the following day, which by a miracle he did, thankfully for us. He explained exactly how to get to him with photos of each step and pin drops so we couldn’t get lost. Not that we needed them as his lovely wife actually met us from the collectivo and took us straight to the beach. They sorted out wristbands, lockers and showed us where to wash off our sun lotion. All snorkelling gear was all sanitised and life jackets sized and tightened securely. In the water Darwin always checks your doing ok and pulls you along with his “Uber” if you get tired. We were amazed by the amount of fish (loads of different)but I know the names of all but stingrays and barracuda and especially how many turtles we saw. It was magical to us, we were so lucky he could fit us in at such short notice. Even after we finished he set us up with an umbrella so we had shade whilst we enjoyed the beach for afew more hours. It really was a brilliant excursion and would definitely recommend. Both him and his wife were lovely.

Darwin is the best. He was very easy to communicate with prior to our visit. Once we arrived at the beach he was there to greet us. He is a biologist. He was very informative about the turtles as well as the other marine life. This is a must excursion. I will do it again on my next visit to Mexico.

My husband, teen daughter and I had an amazing time on the tour with Darwin to swim with the Green turtles. Darwin is a biologist and has the utmost respect for these peaceful and kind creatures, and with his thoughtful guidance, we were able to spend time in their habitat without putting stress on them. Darwin pointed out and gave in-depth details about the other fish, coral and sting rays we saw, in addition to some fun historical ship wreck details. I got tired during our swim - and he gave me a ride on his Uber (swim ring) which was much appreciated! He took tons of photos during our time in the water - I didn't need to bring my camera. His lovely wife Marlene was super responsive in setting up the tour and communicating with us throughout - and waited with our belongings on the beach. On top of all of that - he recommended an awesome place for a tasty fish lunch right up the road - La Cueva Pescador. Don't forget to wear a rash guard as sunscreen isn't allowed. I would absolutely recommend Darwin if you want an amazing turtle swim experience!

We booked a private sea turtle snorkeling tour for our anniversary and it was AMAZING!!! The tour was very personalized for us and Darwin took pictures and videos for us which were unbelievable!!! Prices were extremely reasonable. Be sure to give a nice tip. Darwin goes above and beyond to make your experience a once in a lifetime your!!

Darwin did an amazing job showing us many turtles and beautiful fish. He is very knowledgeable and works hard to provide an amazing experience. He also filmed the experience and for a small tip gave us the photos online. Great communication from Marlene made finding the meeting location very simple. Highly recommend this private trip (only my wife and I) over the large groups.

Darwin was such a pleasure and I was able to get closer to the turtles than expected! We went first thing in the morning, the weather was perfect and the water felt AMAZING! Definitely recommend!!

Our guide, Darwin, was excellent! He was patient, kind, and knowledgeable! He took photos with his Go Pro for us. We saw a lot of turtles, rays, and fish, and a pirate canon too! It was amazing!

Our guide Darwin took care of everything, offering to meet us where we were arriving in akumal (the collectivo stop), taking care of standing in line for tickets and lockers, and showing us where to go. Our 5 year old had an amazing time holding onto the floating tube pulled by Darwin! We got out early and saw many turtles, rays and fish almost immediately off the beach. The entire time was fantastic and a highlight of my trip.

Please book Darwin!! It was an magical trip for my family and myself. Darwin waited of us at the meeting point and it was a very friendly welcome. In every moment we felt the Knowledge and love of him to the ocean, the turtels and the whole underwater world. It was so comfortable to have a private Tour! Darwin s absolutely incredible! He is so knowledgeable and made me feel safe and confident in the water as I am not a strong swimmer. Darwin gave us information about the area and sea creatures we saw as he guided us around on his "Uber" (a life ring!). His communication before we left was excellent and he answered all of our questions and gave detailed directions for how to get there and return back safely. He was friendly and personable and so knowledgeable about the creatures we encountered. This experience was absolutely incredible and I am already looking forward to doing it again next year!
