We booked our tour months prior to our trip with huge excitement to visit Napa, having only one day there while on a road trip, and to learn lots more about wine and how it is made, etc. And boy, did this tour live up to every expectation we had! Our guide, Steve Hunter, was brilliant. He was informative, helpful and kind. An all-round gentleman. From the moment he picked us up from our hotel he made us feel welcome, and was genuinely interested in us - where we had come from, what we were doing on our vacation etc. We visited 3 different wineries, catered to the needs of the group, and this was so much fun. Such an interesting day learning lots of new information all about different wines, how they are made and how the process differs, how the grapes are grown etc. We stopped for a packed lunch (provided by Platypus) at the second winery, in a really nice seating area overlooking the vineyard. We had requested a very specific lunch due to dietary requirements and this was looked after so well, which was a really nice touch. A huge thanks to everyone at Platypus for a very successful day. This trip has made us want to come back and see more of Napa in the future!

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on! Tour guide was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and wine. He did a wonderful job keeping us entertained and hydrated (never ran out of cold water). He was happy to make suggestions for restaurants/attractions to look into for the rest of our trip. The wineries were all small wineries that we probably never would have found or picked ourselves, but the service was outstanding. The tastings were more catered to our pallets, so we were tasting wine we would like and want to buy. The lunch provided was delicious, and the winery we ate at did an amazing job of pairing a tasting to complement the meal. You can tell that planning and organization made this a fantastic event! The wine was delicious! The views were stunning! We had so much fun!

Good selection of smaller boutique wineries that sell their wine direct to consumer. The guide Louis was knowledgeable and friendly.

We loved this tour! Picked up at our hotel, Rob was a great, fun guide providing history and info about the Napa Valley along the way. The small group aspect was perfect. Socializing with the group was easy and fun! We visited 3 smaller family run wineries and tasted a great variety of wines, with reasonable tasting fees, waived with purchase. The hosts at each were also wonderful! Special to enjoy wines we would never find at home. Enjoyed a great picnic lunch on a patio at winery 2, had lots of water to keep hydrating, and simply had a great day. Highly recommend Platypus Tours!

Awesome experience. Our guide Louis picked 3 great winery options. Each one was a different experience and was perfectly laid out during the course of the day. Lunch was good as well. Will rebook again next time in Napa.

It was our first time in Napa so we wanted to ease our way into it with a group tour. We ended up having a great day with Linda as our guide and would definitely recommend this company to anyone else looking to explore the valley through some lovely non-mainstream wineries.

This experience was awesome. It was such a friendly environment, the small group that participated really clicked and we had such a great time. I could say that we made some friends in this trip....we even went to have dinner with some of the groups after the tour.

Had a fabulous time on our Napa Wine Tour with Platypus Tours! We enjoyed all the stops the chose to take us and the variety of wines we tasted. Our guide, Gary Grossman, was wonderful! At first meet, he started the fun and easy-going vibe for the day. His knowledge of wine is impressive! I loved that he made us all feel valid in our personal opinions of the wines. We learned A LOT but we didn’t feel like we were being ‘taught’ - it was very organic. I highly recommend this tour. I’m looking forward to doing their Sonoma tour next trip!

We had a lovely day with a really fun group of first time Napa visitors just like us! The bus was comfortable for travel and our guide made it fun. The first winery, Backstage, was what we considered the best of all three stops. One note, we found that if you buy a bottle or two at any of the wineries, the tasting fee was waived. The requirements were slightly different for each but that seemed like a better deal than just paying a tasting fee. Each winery shipped as well, although Backstage again had the lowest shipping fee as well - win, win. We learned that you must get reservations and pay a fee for tastings at any winery if you book on your own anyhow, so this was a less expensive, no driving option. The lunch provided options for gluten free, dairy free people. The gluten free bread was really good - not just off the grocery shelf bread but like bakery gluten free bread. Water was also provided on the bus to keep people hydrated. Overall, a great day!

Very enjoyable wine tasting tour to three Napa Valley wineries. There were three couples in our group which made for an easy day with lots of time for questions and exploring. Jason was a wonderful host/driver and provided lots of information on the history of Napa. He selected three wineries for the day. Each had their own distinct characteristics and styles. We had a great time meeting fellow travelers and winery staff. The wine itself was pretty good too. Highly recommend taking a tour.

Tour guide was excellent. Good way to experience Napa. Small wineries we visited were awesome. Enjoyed their wine.

Tessa, our driver, was PHENOMENAL. Great people skills, wonderful sense of humor, and helped make the whole trip magical. We made some new friends, and had some great wine. It was amazing!

Kelly made a huge difference bringing strangers together and taking good care of us. She was available but didn’t hover over us. She asked the group what we wanted and made sure we were accommodated. We all loved Kelly and so appreciated our first wine tour to be so fun and knowledgeable!

We had rain and colder weather for the tour but Rob was prepared. We had a wonderful experience checking out smaller mom and pop style wineries while someone else did the driving. Would definitely book again!

We had a very good time. It wasn’t quite what we expected. Basically this is booking a bus ride to be taken to 3 different wineries and fed a well prepared boxed lunch. You will have to pay for your tastings or be prepared to spend at least double on wines to have those fees waved and everyone you meet expects a substantive tip. Plan on $800-1000 all in for 2 people taking home 4 bottles of wine. Maybe $600 if you buy no wine at all and give minimal tip for 2. We were very happy we did it, but would not it again.

Rob was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He picked excellent wineries for us. We particularly enjoyed the last winery, Andretti which was like visiting Tuscany. Our guide there Rod was very generous and it was the highlight of the day p
