We’re so glad that we went on this excursion to Soana island. Seeing the different places of the island, especially where the local village is, alongside the turtle sanctuary was very insightful. The tour guide, Melvin, was very knowledgable about the island and Dominican Republic. He was also very friendly, accommodating and funny!! The early start is so worth it as you get to the 2nd beach stop when it’s literally empty! If you’re debating whether to book this one or the cheaper ones then please please book this tour, you won’t regret it!! We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone!

Amazing tour that was well worth the time & cost! We were on the fence about just staying at our resort but decided to book one excursion to Saona Island. We did a lot of research about which tour was the best and this one really stood out because it was a small group tour and we were able to visit several parts of the island. The tour picked us up bright and early at 5:45 AM since we were staying in Uvero Alto. Our group ended up being 11 people which was the perfect size to meet people. Our tour guide Melvin was great! He took pictures for us and was really knowledgeable and passionate. You can tell he really cares about ethical tourism and educated us on the history of the DR and the Caribbean before bringing us all over the island before the crowds got there. The island was beautiful with calm, clear blue water. The food was also great, especially lunch and the homemade juices (the passion fruit & rum combination was dangerous & delicious!) Overall, if you want a fun relaxing excursion this is the one to book! You won’t regret it.

AMAZING DAY! Melvin was our tour guide and he was honestly the best! Melvin was very informative about his home country and passionate about teaching us about the history of Dominican Republic which I loved! And the whole day trip to Saona was beautiful! This was the best excursion I've ever been on, the tour guide was incredible and so knowledgeable. He took the time to make sure everyone had photos at all the beautiful locations and when interacting with the starfish. He also sent the pics so quickly - straight after drop off. The rum was amazing, the lunch was delicious, the scenery was breathtaking Honestly could not have been any better, it was the perfect way to kick off our honeymoon.

Hands down one of the best tour guides I’ve had. Melvin’s attention to detail and genuine passion for his profession is noteworthy. Our small group of 11 was amazing. I would recommend this to anyone!

We left ahead of the other tour companies and had the beaches to ourselves for a good 45 minutes until the party boats started arriving. This was nice. Breakfast, lunch and drinks were all great. Didn’t see any turtles at the sanctuary but good education provided. Spend the extra money and go with this tour. WELL WORTH IT!

This excursion was fantastic. Melvin and his team are passionate about what they do. They really care about making this an authentic experience. It starts early (pick up was at 6am) but that was worth it as we were able to experience the first part of the trip with no other tourists groups present. The drive to the port where we take the boat is a bit long so expect a good 1,5 hours drive. We had rain during our trip but it was fun nonetheless. If you want you could think about bringing dry clothes in a plastic bag to change for the drive back to the hotel. The beaches were beautiful, we also saw starfish . I was there with my 8 yo and 12 yo and they enjoyed it too. We felt safe and price was worth it. We brought our own snorkel and mask as I wasn’t sure if they had kids masks but they had for adults. I highly recommend if you want to get out of resort and see the beautiful scenery of DR. Thanks to Melvin and his team!

Melvin was a great guide, recommend this to everyone that doesn’t want the huge party and loud music scene. We beat all the crowds to the beach and as soon as it started to get crowded we were off to the other beach where it was less crowded. He was passionate about his work and history behind the country. His staff was excellent too from boat drivers to the cab driver, I would pick this guy over any other excursion they come to your place and pick you up! I would recommend doing this!

Melvin was an awesome tour guide! He was constantly checking in us to make sure we were doing well. The food was awesome, we loved the homemade pineapple and passionfruit juice! The whole staff will make sure you have an experience unlike any other. We got to see a turtle sanctuary in a town other tours don’t go. We had some rain but that never stopped us from a good time! We got to see a sea turtle, hold star fish, and snorkel too! If you’re thinking of booking this excursion do it.

Gosh I loved this day so much 😍 We did the small group Saona Island excursion, visited 3 different parts of the island, a natural pool with starfish and a reef. If you’re ever in the DR, I can’t recommend this tour enough! Our guide Melvin was passionate about his country, educated us on the history of the Dominican Republic dating back to Columbus arriving in 1492 (which the history nerd in me was eating up) and took us to the native part of the island to learn a little about the culture before ending on the main tourist part of the island. It was a 12 hour day and I have so much respect for how hard this team worked to make it an amazing experience. To me, soooo much better than just hopping on a packed party boat. My friend and I kept saying how we couldn’t believe everything we got out of this day for just $165/person! So grateful to this entire team!

We had an amazing experience thanks to Melvin . He looked after us the entire day , he took us to the nice places around the island where it wasn’t very busy we also had the opportunity to see the starfish which was amazing . Food was good we had a nice bbq by the beach . We recommend Melvin and the rest of the staff .

The Saona Island tour was amazing, our tour guide Melvin was extremely helpful and educational when it came to describing our trip and the history behind the island and its importance.

The turquoise water was beautiful. While it was an early morning, we really appreciated beating the crowd to the first few beaches. So relaxing! The starfish were HUGE! The guides were very nice and did a great job navigating the Caribbean waters. Absolutely worth the price.

10/10 experience. The views were breathtaking, everything was well coordinated. The food was amazing! Melvin the tour guys was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot of history! I would recommend anyone to take this your if you wanna go take some beautiful pictures at this beautiful island!
