This experience was unlike anything we've done before and we loved it. It was an adventure. The walk wasn't easy but the payoff was incredible. Beautiful waterfalls and plenty of time to swim and enjoy them. Never felt rushed. The guides, Rui and Tomás, were always there with a helping hand on the natural walkways. Knowledgable and fun, good banter. They were taking pictures throughout, allowing us to focus on the day.

We had an amazing time! Gerês was absolutely gorgeous and our guide, Renato, was brilliant and very friendly and knowledgable. This trip was the highlight of our holiday in Porto and we would definitely do it again!

Francisco was an amazing guide, super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. He kept the tour engaging and running smoothly. Extremely patient also, as there were parts of the hike we found particularly challenging, he offered his support and didn’t make us feel pressured or rushed. All in all a very kind human being and it was a pleasure to meet him. The hike itself was absolutely stunning, and the opportunity to swim in the waterfalls was amazing. We made memories for life and appreciate it dearly. The views were mesmerising and vast, and every location we explored was just as beautiful as the last.

This was such a beautiful area and such a great excursion! Our guide Patito was the best guide I had out of all the tours I took in Portugal (like 6 tours total)! The day was well planned with stops to see waterfalls, view points, each lunch, and relax in nature. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who has the time and likes to get out of the city and into nature! Note that the water is still to cold in April for comfortable swimming! I bet it's amazing to go for a swim in summertime though!

Great trip seeing the natural park and the small villages with a good guide (Petito). We had a wonderful time and very delicious lunch.

Petito is such a knowledgeable tour guide, and is a very caring and friendly person. He took us to spot the most spectacular views and introduced to us the history of the villages and how sustainable tourism has helped the locals for continuing living their lifestyle. Not forgetting to mention that the food in village is pretty tasty as well

This was a lovely experience, our host Renato was very knowledgeable and chatty. This was a relaxing trip around the national park (more of a ramble than a hike), we got to see some really beautiful sites and spend time at different spots. Lunch was a mix of local and traditional foods and was delicious. Exactly the break from the city we needed.

The tour itself was perfect for those who like to get out in nature but are daunted by big hikes in this region. It has inspired me to think about planning a trio to explore more. Petito was our guide in this trip from detour company. It fells like going back in time and studying through our legs the history of portugal. It was an amazing trip for solo traveling, i met an amazing people from all over the world. Thank you Detour! And Petito of course for your knowledge and an amazing trip!

We had a lovely day out in beautiful countryside. Carlos was very helpful and good company. The size of the group was nice (5 people) and we enjoyed a really good interesting Portuguese lunch stop. It was interesting tasting all the different dishes.

Renato was a very informative tour guide and safe driver. He took us to beautiful stops in Gerês and helped keep an eye on our children ages 5 and 7 during the hikes. I wouldn’t take younger children on this hike only because there were pretty steep hikes at times. You can tell Renato loves nature and knew all the trees, plants, and animals. His English was excellent and he was so patient with our children answering every question they had with enthusiasm

We took a trip to Peneda Geres National Park with Petito and Joao at the end of March. We had beautiful weather, and the tour was fantastic! Petito has a lot of knowledge about the area, and it was very evident that he loves everything about this park and loves sharing its beauty and history with visitors. We explored a 2,000 year old Roman bridge, toured a small village, and dipped our feet into the waterfalls. I recommend spending a day here, and seeing a different side of Portugal. - Therese, Brian and Erin (Chicago)

We had a truly memorable trip to Geres, thanks to an amazing man named Renato. We were picked up at the hotel on time and once we got past the city, we had a short coffee break and then the trip actually began. Renato explained the importance of Geres and it's beauty with utmost details. He knows so much about nature, trees, animals and the Geres park. We were lucky to witness a deer on our way to the park, which was sprinting away from a probable predator. The waterfalls, the twists and turns, the hydro power project, the greenery, and of course, Renato - everything altogether - the trip will remain in our memory for a long time.

5 stars to Pedro and Teresa for an amazing tour to the national park. It was a fantastic experience, we for sure will recommend to all our friends visiting Porto

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip, the hosts/guides Tiago & Teresa were warm and engaging , with an obvious admiration and understanding with the area. It felt very geniune , and they made a real effort to try and connection with everyone in the group. The area was beautiful and I learned a lot about a style of life in Portugal I wouldn't of even wondered about before. I even learned the Portuguese word for Loquat and daisy (nêspera and margarida),( though its going to be awhile before I'll be able to say them reliably!), and hear the hosts take the piss out of each others pronouncation of it (Portuguese vs Brazil). It was just a small moment but added up to feeling like I was part of something and not just a detached tourist. Oh and the black pudding was very good too! Also I saw many lizards

This trip was amazing! My wife and I are very outdoors type people and decided to do a tour of the national park to learn more about the history and culture of it. Orlando was a fantastic tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and very nice when it came to the history and explaining different parts of the national park and history of Portugal. Lunch was fantastic, as we stopped in one of the villages for a Portuguese style lunch! Lots of food, good conversation, and even better weather! Thank you for the amazing tour and looking forward to coming back and explore some more!

We went on the day trip to de Geres National Park in mid-March 2024. Our guides were Pepito and Orlando. We can only speak highly of the day trip which was very memorable because of the two guides. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and personable, it was a joy to spend the day with them. It was a bonus to meet with one of the villagers, the story about the wolves was particularly captivating. We enjoyed the generous 3 course lunch (you will not need an evening meal).

Pedro and his training team were fantastic on this hike! I learnt so much about the area, and saw some incredible sights. Including multiple rainbows! I was on the trip solo, and there was another couple. I never once felt alone or in the way, they all made sure I was part of the conversation and my opinions mattered. We stopped for lunch at Aguia-Real and the food was delicious! Detours messaged me prior to the to event to confirm dietary requirements which was appreciated. I had the best time! Thank you so much to Pedro and the team, for a fabulous hike! I would definitely do this again and use detours for future activities.
