The kayak tour was amazing. Brian was our guide and he was exceptional. He was friendly and full of knowledge. Kayaking thru the mangroves was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour; you won't be disappointed.

The trip was great.. Perfect weather with calm winds. Taylor was great, very educational and informative. The mangrove tunnels were nice and gave us a chance to get out of the sun.. An added bonus was seeing a mother and child dolphin swimming in front of our group leading the way back to the take out parking lot.

This was our 3rd outing with Coastal Kayak charters and our 2nd with Taylor! Great experience and great guides! The area is beautiful…the mangroves, the marine life and the beach on Shell Key. Taylor was knowledgeable and informative, we were glad to have her as a guide again! We’ll be back next year!

Taylor was an excellent guide. She was very informative and helpful throughout the entire excursion and took into account our specific needs. The excursion included open water kayaking as well as kayaking through mangrove tunnels and time on a beach to relax.

We took the tandem kayak tour to shell island preserve. Our guide Brittany was awesome. Knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with us who have never been in a tandem kayak before. The day was beautiful, pleasantly warm not hot. I highly recommend these folks.

My sister and I had so much fun on this excursion! Our guide, Taylor, did an amazing job leading our group and keeping it fun, even though we had very windy conditions which made the kayaking tough. Taylor was knowledgeable, friendly, and upbeat. The tour takes you through mangrove tunnels and over to Shell Key, a beautiful stop for swimming, soaking in the sun, and finding shells. I’ll definitely do this again the next time I’m in St Pete.

We took a small group tour with Taylor as our guide. She shared her knowledge of the area along with enthusiasm for paddling. Taylor took excellent care of us assuring we were safe and able to manage when the wind picked up. It was an enjoyable and educational paddle. We highly recommend you take this trip and ask for Taylor.

Brian was a great teacher, tour guide and comedian. Our family had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the 3 hours.

Trip was amazing the mangrove tunnels were incredible. Tour guides kept us informed while giving us plenty of freedom to enjoy kayaking.

Unfortunately I didn't make it on time for the kayaking tour. I live in Central FL and I've been to the Fort DeSoto area several times, usually it takes an hour and a half to get to the location, therefore I left 2 1/2 hours early but the traffic and accidents prevented me from reaching the destination on time. I called the company an hour and 1/2 prior to departure to advise them my estimated time of arrival would be 10 minutes late. I didn't expect them to delay the trip but I did ask if it would be an option to reschedule due to unforseen circumstances. The guy stated NO and suggest I continue to come. When I arrived the group had already left. I completely understand the No refund policy but in certain circumstances you should offer rescheduling options. Life happens and we are not always in control. This company could care less. I would suggest booking your experience with someone else.

This small group kayaking trip was fantastic. We saw all sorts of bird and fish life . The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable’ I would HIGHLY recommend this activity

Alivia was a wonderful guide! Group kayak tour through the mangroves and stop off at a beach. She did an excellent job explaining the history, nature, and wildlife... in addition to providing clear and useful kayaking instructions. Fun times and great experience all around.

Taylor was a great guide!! Very knowledgeable. We saw dolphins who swam right up to us. Went through tunnels in the mangroves (so cool); birds that followed us, diving under our canoes to flush out fish!!! Shell Key was beautiful, great shelling. Be ready for great photo opportunities, but also, Taylor sent us some great pictures too. GREAT experience!!!!

Alivia was our guide. Her knowledge of the flora and fauna we were traveling through really enriched our time together. We loved the double crested cormorants, who stayed right with each kayak the whole time. The mangroves were amazing - such an important example of how valuable wildlife can be to us. We are 68 & 70, fit but not fitness buffs, and the trip was not too rigorous for us. Delightful afternoon.

Highly recommend this tour! We are casual kayakers and this was an excellent experience. Since we had a small group and were experienced, our guide (Brian) took us into more challenging areas and more mangrove tunnels. Brian gave a ton of great information about the Preserve. Way better than just taking some kayaks out on our own.
