This was a fabulous tour and Tony was an outstanding Guide. He did a great job of narrating throughout the day as we drove through the various parts of London and our destination Locations. I loved the fact that, as a small group, we were able to travel on some of the smaller roads throughout the Cotswold. It was a very enjoyable day. My only suggestion is that I would’ve liked a little more time in Stratford upon Avon. We made a stop at the Trinity Church, but only had 10 to walk around.

Cotswold, Oxford and Straton Upon Avon with Lucy Crane. First, I must say, Lucy is wonderful. We absolutely loved her. She was fun, friendly, had tons of information to share with us. History, suggested spots to visit, little things to notice along the way, etc. She made this tour so fun and informative. We never felt rushed. Really highly recommend your tour.

We loved our small group tour! Andy was very organized, informative and insightful. His tour of Oxford was extraordinary, and entertaining. Don’t miss it!!! The shuttle was very comfortable with plenty of room for personals.

What a delightful day! We loved the small group tour and our tour guide Lucy was wonderful. She was funny, informative, and helpful - and took time to get to know each of us a little. Our van was super comfortable, had charging ports, and seats that could lean back a little. The extra cost of doing a small group tour (vs a larger bus) was worth it! Our van could get to places that the larger groups couldn't and the experienced was more personalized. We were most excited about the Cotswolds and they were spectacular in the spring - but we were pleasantly surprised by Stratford as well. We appreciated the informative walking tour of Oxford - we really didn't know anything about the area or the buildings and found it all fascinating. We wanted an overview of each of these areas and now we know we'd like to go back to the Cotswolds and spend several days there. We highly recommend tours from The English Bus company.

In spite of the weather the trip went smoothly. The guide Andy was extremely informative, friendly and made sure everyone was comfortable. There were many scenic stopovers. It was great to have free time to explore Oxford. It would have been great to stop the bus twice through the Cotswold area for a quick photo opportunity. Otherwise well worth doing.

The tour we took to see William Shakespeare’s birthplace lasted 12 hours, and I didn’t mind it! My husband and our daughter went to see the Harry Potter play in West End while our son and I took a tour aboard The English Bus. At Shakespeare’s birthplace, we saw a sign for Shakesbeer, looked through the window of the ShakesPaw Cat Cafe, and took lots of pics of the Bard’s old stomping grounds. Our awesome tour guide Lucy was full of excellent facts, intriguing stories, and important history. We learned that Shakespeare was 18 when he married Anne Hathaway (no relation to Ella Enchanted) who was 26. His cause of death has never been determined, but one of the many theories (besides murder) is that he passed away from a bad hangover on the traditional date of his birthday in 1616. In chatting with some vendors in Stratford-upon-Avon, it’s obvious they don’t believe Christopher Marlowe penned any of Shakespeare’s works. Fascinating tour. Everything I learned in my high school AP Literature class came right back to me. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Tudor, Victorian, and even Renaissance and Gothic elements in the architecture throughout the quaint town. There’s so much interest and detail in their designs. Our tour also ventured into the Cotswolds. Apparently, wolds means rolling hills and cots means sheep. My son and I took advantage of a photo op with a hollowed out tree trunk. We also may or may not have been a few minutes late meeting our tour group due to a not needed, but much wanted duck selfie. Our tour of Oxford and its campuses and libraries was very eye opening. If you read a book a day from the Bodleian Library, it would take you 600 lifetimes to get through the entire collection! We also saw a street lamp and an ornate door which may have been the inspiration for CS Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” So grateful to have had this time with my boy. Thanks, tour guide Lucy, thanks to the hubby for all of our trip planning, and thank you, Lord, for all these blessings!

Excellent tour! The guide was amazing. The trip was exactly as described. Stratford is a cute town and the Cotswolds are beautiful. The buildings at Oxford are magnificent. Really enjoyed this tour. Plenty of stops for creature comforts!

My family had the most wonderful day with Lucy, on our tour of the Cotswolds, Oxford, and Stratford upon Avon. Our tour guide Lucy was an absolute delight. She was extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. She was incredibly upbeat and quite witty which we appreciated so much. I have not learned nor laughed that much in a long while! She taught us so much on our journey and it’s clear that she loves what she does. We would recommend the English Bus to anyone as it was a 10 out of 10 experience!

This is our second tour with the English Bus (our first was Stonehenge, Bath & A Secret Place) just a day before. We took the tour to Stratford-upon-Avon, Cotswolds and Oxford with Tony, our amazing tour guide. The bus is very comfortable and Tony is very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. There was also an optional walking tour in Oxford which guided by Tony. He shared a lot of information about Oxford during the walking tour. If I'm not mistaken, there were a total of 9 people in our group. Small group day tour with The English Bus is the way to go! Highly recommend to book this day trip tour when you're in London.

Johny, our driver and guide, was such a hoot! He kept us entertained and at the same time, shared a lot of history & knowledge during the tour. The size of the group was perfect, and so was the size of the vehicle. We could sit comfortably without being squashed in a small van, and the intimacy of group led to a great experience. Almost all of us sat together in pubs or walked around together during our own time, and we started off as strangers! The experience could have been better if we had known that Shakespeare's house was closed for a week for conservation. Not even the tour company knew it. Google and their website never announced the closure. We only found out through a sign at the door. Poor planning on their end. Also, if you want to view Shakespeare's final resting spot, you need to go on a Sunday when the church is open. Something we didn't know about. Cotswolds was really unique, but we didn't get much time to see or do much. Just got a quick overview of a couple of towns. The tour might have tried to squeeze too much in, especially during winter, where it gets dark much earlier. We walked around Oxford in the dark, which was a pity as I would have loved to have pictures of some of the impressive buildings. It did however, give us a taste of the 3 cities/towns we went to and quite a bit of history narrated by Johny, in the cold! If you want an overview of whether you would like to visit on your own, this is the tour. At the end of the tour, Johny was really nice in asking us where our hotels were. He then made the effort to drop us off at various points to catch the closest tube, walk around the corner, or right at our hotel's doorstep if you were one of the lucky ones to be on the same route. I was glad my husband and I were lucky enough to get dropped off at our hotel as the day was long and it was getting frigid.

We are return tourists with the English Bus. Tour group is small. Bus is also small, comfortable, and clean. Because the bus is not huge, the bus can go on smaller roads in the countryside. Our guide, Tony, was super nice and knowledgeable. Would tour with them again! And again!

Andy was a fantastic tour guide! We had a wonderful day in Stratford, The Cotswolds and Oxford. Since it's November, it was dark by the time we arrived in Oxford but Andy had a great walking tour which was informative and entertaining. Since it was a small group, we made some new friends which enhanced the experience. I'd highly recommend this tour, and ask for Andy!
