We took the Greyfriars Kirkyard tour and enjoyed it immensely. We learned a lot of history and lore about the city, Scotland, and the cemetery itself. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly!

The tour was absolutely wonderful. Robin is a very friendly and attentive guide and my partner and I learnt a lot thanks to him. The tour contained of a walk across the cemetery and Robin knew interesting information about almost every grave and tombstone and the symbolism and history. I can only recommend this tour - especially for tombstone tourists and taphophiles!

My daughter and I were looking for a smaller tour where we could ask questions / interact with the host and not get lost in a crowd . We had a great time with the small group we were in and learned so many interesting facts that were delivered with passion and humour . What a great host - I would definitely recommend booking!

The excursion turned out to be very interesting. We were reminded of the famous Scots buried in the cemetery, and not only the Scots. The guide amazed with his encyclopedic knowledge, and this information was not something that was easy to google. The guide's preparation was impressive. At the same time, the generally gloomy cemetery theme took on a positive atmisphere due to the witty jokes of the guide.

The guide was super competent, Witty, nice and patient. We could not ask for more. Even with a rainy day, he brightened It with this tour. Easy to walk, right duration. Recommended

This is one of the most enjoyable tours I have been on in a long time. Me and my parter ended up with a private tour due to another couple not turning up...lucky us. This is a small intimidate tour of the graveyard uncovering the interesting history of its inhabitants. If you enjoy your history and have a keen eye for detail (no stone unturned 😉) you are bound to enjoy this as much as we did. The tour guide is fantastic, so knowledgeable and engaging and I couldn't write this review with a special mention for Cousin David and all of his amazing research.

Robin's knowledge of Greyfriars was astounding. I challenge you to find anyone better versed and more entertaining. A grand finale to my visit to Edinburgh. Enjoyed this above all other activities on my trip. Brilliant!

The Greyfriars Kirkyard tour was honestly one of my favorite experiences while in Edinburgh. I was the only one who signed up for the tour at that time so I was incredibly lucky to have a private tour of Greyfriars. Robin, the guide, was so friendly, incredibly charming, witty with a vast wealth of knowledge about the history of Greyfriars and beyond. Not only did Robin show me the elaborate and popular graves, he also showed me the more modest and easily looked over graves, for example the headstone of a woman that only had her initials, nothing else. Quite sad really. I have no idea how it's possible for Robin to retain so many facts and stories; it honestly boggles my mind. We walked throughout the Kirk and talked about people, their lives, their families, and the circumstances behind their death, if known. He gave life and humanity to the names carved into the cold stone. Our time together flew by, and it was an absolute joy, and incredibly informative. I understand how that can sound strange when talking about a cemetery tour, but it's completely true, and is all due to Robin. Touring a cemetery can sound spooky or eery, but this wasn't the case at all. The tour was the story of the complicated and nuanced history of Edinburgh, and of Scotland. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Robin, thank you for spending your afternoon with me; I had an amazing time!

I spent a very nice time in the Greyfiars Kirkyard! Our guide (we were a very small group of three people and I really appreciated that) was terrific, funny and knowledgeable. As I'm a big fun of Harry potter he brought me in front of the thumes of people J.K. Rowling took ispiration for her Harry Potter characters. I really enjoyed! Thank you very very much!! 😁😁
