I’m so happy we got to visit Sloth Watching Trail during our time in Costa Rica! Thanks to our awesome guide, Randall, on educating us about different types of sloths, frogs, birds, plants, etc. We definitely took in all the nature sounds, soothing and a peaceful environment. Highly recommend! Also, don’t forget the bug spray!

The naturalists/guides are fantastic. We saw a number of sloths, one which was about 3 meters from us. We saw many beautiful birds as well. It’s a beautiful location and the walk through the forest was with the price of admission. Note: IMHO getting a guide is critical on any of the nature hikes in Costa Rica. They are amazing at finding and identifying an incredible array of animals. Some large. Some very small. Some fast. Some very SSSLOWWWW. Without the guides you’d miss 95% off what your there to see.

There are many sloth watching tours around La Fortuna. We chose this one on a whim, and were quite happy with the result! Our guide, Isaac, was a nice, laidback guy with a fun attitude. You could tell he enjoyed himself and his enthusiasm got us going on this especially hot day. He was very good at finding animals too! We saw two and three finger sloths, as well as birds, owls and even bats! You wouldn't think to find a place with sloths in the heart of the city, but there they are, high up in the trees. Something that I apreciated because I had heard of places that relocate the sloths at eye level to please the tourists, and that is not what I was looking for. I prefer to watch them in their natural habitat from afar, knowing that I am not bothering them. Luckily, our guide had the perfect lense for that, and we could see the animals really well while taking pictures through the lense scope. There weren't that many sloths - it was a hot day and the afternoon sun was burning - but we got to see 6 of them, including a mother and her baby, and a male with his distinctive orange stripe actively climbing a tree! That's all I needed to feel content and happy. Overall, a great place to admire nature respectfully!

We loved our time here, we showed up at 8:30 and were the only ones there and so they took our family on a private tour/walk. Our guide, Frandel was super knowledgeable and passionate about he type of flora/fauna that we were seeing. He was able to spot so many things along our walk that we would not have seen ourselves. Overall it was a great experience, thanks guys, and Frandel.

We had a great time on this easy walking tour, seeing plenty of sloths (sleeping and awake) as well as many types of frogs and birds. The guides were great at setting up the scope exactly where the animals could be best seen, and helped us to photograph/video them through the scope. I do wish that the guides had stopped to face the group when talking so we could have understood them better, as they were hard to hear when we were walking behind them as they led the way. They were generous with answering questions and very knowledgeable about the animals we were seeing. Good value for the money!

Carlos was an amazing guide! We were a group of 16 and he paid extra attention to the kiddos. The sloths 🦥 were high up in the trees and we used a scope to see them. We learned a lot about birds, frogs and sloths. There was a snake on the trail too. Got great pictures. It’s super close in town and an easy way to get your sloth fix.

We had a wonderful tour with our eagle eyed guide Isaac. Not only was he knowledgable but very, very passionate. We saw about 4-5 sloths. One was quite low in a tree and moving (slowly of course lol). We also saw poisonous frogs, snakes, a black and white owl, lizards, a vulture and lots of birds. It was 100% worth having a guide. There were people walking around seeing absolutely nothing.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Costa Rica and desperate to see sloths. We came across this attraction and we're very pleased. On arrival, you are introduced to your guide (we were allocated Joseph) who explains how the trails work and you are then on your way. We spent roughly 2 hours doing the trail. Your guide carries a telephoto lens for close up shots and even uses it for taking photos and videos on your smartphone. We saw sloths, arrow frogs and more. Joseph was very energetic during the trail and spotted some great wildlife for us to see. The trail is not physically challenging and is virtually flat all the way round. I would highly recommend it.

This was a planned stop in our Caravan Costa Rica 8 day tour. We received a guide who walked us through portions of the trail. The guides take with them a telescope on a tripod so that we can see the sloths high up the trees. We were able to distinguish if the sloth was a girl or a boy. We saw about 3 sloths. 2 - two-toed and 1 three-toed sloths. We experienced an unfortunate incident with one of the sloths. It apparently fell to the ground from whatever tree it was on. Its face hit the base of the tree. Very sad. The guide said that if the sloth hits the ground face down it most likely did not survive the fall. One of the our guides had a recording of a baby sloth making a noise, and we could see the sloth in the tree turning towards the noise.

We did the tour yesterday morning - 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 13) and we all really enjoyed it. Wesler was our guide and he was great. We saw 4 pretty active sloths (for them!), several frogs (including the blue Jean and a blue and black poisonous dart frog), toucans, owls and other birds, basilisks - all in a beautiful setting and with a very friendly and informative guide. At the end we also did a mini cacao session with tasting. 4 v happy customers

A wonderful tour, even if we got rained out toward the end. We enjoyed it so much, we booked the Coffee, Chocolate, and Sugar Cane experience with them as well. Our guide for both was Mar and she was funny, insightful, and had a ton of information. Would highly recommend!

I was very impressed about this tour.. the guild was very knowledgeable and spoke up & we understood clearly. Knowledge is powerful with a tour because it keeps you very interested. We saw 5/6 sloth, 2 owls frogs insects and knowledge about tree. So sorry me totally forget the short gentleman name 😞 but we truly enjoyed the tour

My wife and I are big Sloth fan's (who isn't) and this tour did not let us down. You might see 2 sloths in Manuel Antonio but we saw 6 or 7 including a 1 year old. Plus lots of Toucans, Motmot's and owls. Our guide was very knowledgeable and his English was great. Only downside was a fellow tourist who thought she should call her son and live video every time we saw something interesting. Very loud and annoying.

I totally recommend going on a guide walk with a guide. They will find you sloths that we normal people are not able to see. I was lucky to be alone in my group. The guided walks leave every hour. I had Harol as my guide and he was very knowledgeable and found 4 different sloths high up in the trees. I got nice photos and also could watch them in the scope that he brought. I was happy just like that. Seeing a sloth moving a little and itching its back. Towards the end of the trip Harol spotting a female sloth kind of close to us. She’s moving more than normal in the day. It turns out she’s coming down to poop. They only do that once a week and it’s not common to see it. We watched her for half an hour as she was climbing down all the way to the ground. She took the poop just half a meter in front of us just next to the trail. Business done she went back up in the tree tops to hide from predators. Absolutely amazing! Harol also found a couple of frogs and lots of birds. Totally get a guide!!!

Initially we had low expectations as the reception was small and seemed very busy, however, David was a great guide - Really knowledgeable and we saw a lot of sloths - one of which was moving so was great to watch- plus lots of other great animals such as poisonous dart frogs and a toucan.

Great tour. Our guide did a fantastic job, pointing out sloths, frogs, and giving us info about the flora in the area. Recommended!
