So wonderful! All the dogs enjoyed too! Staff were in uniform and very photogenic. Music was delightful. Malachi knows all the songs and enjoys folks singing with him. Definitely will be back on the train! The rainy day discouraged one member of our party but for the rest of us, a good raincoat and mud boots made it all just fine.

Such a fun and lovely trip! Spring is definitely the best time to take this trip. The weather was absolutely perfect. Enjoyed listening to the history and facts while riding the train. The nature scenes are cathartic. They have a great selection of adult beverage and perfects types of snacks. Enjoyed the stop before turning around to take a look at the redwoods and venture off into the woods for a little break.

A great train ride into the Redwoods. Dogs are allowed! The snack/beverage car along with the live music, makes it a very fun experience. The local knowledge from the conductor is very informative. I'd highly recommend taking a ride on the Skunk Train if you're near Willits.

Fun experience. The train ride was fun and very informative. Loved the live singing by the on-board crew member. He has an amazing voice and great guitar and flute player. It was nice to be able to move around the train and go to the open cart and experience the outdoor feel and going through the tunnel.

Trip for my 6 YO grandson although there were 5 of us. We all enjoyed the ride. They have a snack bar on board, but you’re welcome to bring your own food. The 25 minute wait while they readjust the engine at Wolf Tree is a great place for a packed lunch. The meadow was a little soggy in areas. The biggest surprise was our guitar playing conductor; come with your favorite train song. I will go again.

I’ve been wanting to do the skunk train for a long time. Finally I drove from LA to Willits to ride it and it was a good experience. Staff is very friendly. It’s a very calm relaxed experience. They have a little snack bar in the train . They sell popcorn/ soda/ beer and other snacks. Kids love it!

Hands down one of the worst money grabs I've been apart of. You're given the illusion that you can get off the train once you reach your destination. You cannot. The first half of the trip is seeing the backside of Willits. Abandoned everything. Rusted everything. A crap shoot. Then when we finally get to the tree, you cannot get down. You get ushered out to the open car with EVERYONE ELSE, 4 cars worth of people, from the train and look up to see a haphazardly decorated tree. That's it! We stayed all of 5 mins and start going back. Mind you on the way up the train goes super slow to accommodate that hour worth. On the way back it was 35 mins. Do yourself a favor and find something else to do. This was AWFUL! I honestly want my money back! This was HORRIBLE! So expensive for nothing in return.

Horrible place to do business with! We live over 4 hours away and booked the one day we had free to do it. My husband is a doctor and works A LOT. We do not have many days free. We booked this as a family thing to do together and then our son had to cancel because he couldn't make it. They offered to give me a gift card instead of a refund which I took at the time because I thought sure why not the younger kids could get a souvenir at the end. Then they call to tell me that they had to cancel my booking due to a train canceling and refunded me the Vip tickets for the train ride, but would not refund my gift card. So I am out a hundred dollars unless I drive hours out of my way to go there with no train ride just to spend it. Ridiculous. Will never go now.

Riding the rails is always fun & enjoyable. The crew was friendly & helpful. The weather was gorgeous. If you're a railroad fan, even if you're not, put this on your list, you'll have a great experience.

Our Skunk Train experience was a delight! Three of us four were Seniors and two had physical limitations but that posed no problem for the conductor who provided a lift for my friend who was unable to climb the steps. We arrived early so had time to peruse the tiny gift shop. Having been in many gift shops, I was pleasantly surprised to find the souvenirs were of good quality and reasonably priced. Peter was the Ticket Master as well as the shop clerk and was very gracious. I very much appreciated his patience and positive attitude toward everyone. Matt was our Conductor on the train and was also patient, gracious and friendly without being invasive. Malachi was the troubadour on the train and sang lustily in each of the cars as he played his guitar. We went on the Pumpkin Express out of Willits and enjoyed our stopover at Crowley. Our young friend got off the train with me and we explored the trails branching off the spacious field, which was especially set up with Halloween decorations. Each person with a ticket was encouraged to take home one of the pumpkins on display. Malachi did a marvelously enjoyable job of playing panpipes and then, I believe, a piccolo till time to return to the train for the trip back to Willits. The train travels about 10pm which is perfect for sightseeing. It was fun to stand in the observation car, getting closer to nature. It was a delightful, historic experience.

It was fun for someone not from the area. The announcer was very friendly ( Joey?) and answered questions throughout the trip. Not alot to see on the train ride, more on the highway we drove later, but enjoyed the info, the Skunk Train Wine, and Malachai. Wow, so fun! Took requests, made me smile the whole way! The flute playing at the turnaround was so perfect.

Beautiful views and friendly entertaining conductors… easy relax full. Grab some fresh popcorn and enjoy a lightly narrated trip through the forest. They have an open car perfect for photography and a couple of closed cars with seats and functioning windows

We loved the entire experience. The conductor was very informative, loved the historical information and the trip. Best of all; Malachi. He had a beautiful voice, and range of songs while on the train. The flute playing in the clearing at the Wolf Tree was beautiful!

We loved the Skunk Train in Fort Bragg but it wasn't like we had seen in videos and pictures, we read that the train in Willits is a longer ride so we wanted to experience that one, maybe it was the one on video. It's longer and more expensive but we actually enjoyed the one in Fort Bragg better, the views are more beautiful and when it stops and you get to get off to explore, it's also nicer in FB. When I'm back to Mendocino County, I will skip this train

We rode from Willits. I would recommend waiting until the collapsed tunnel is repaired for a longer and prettier trip. Not much to see except a lot of deat tree's and brush and nothing to do during the twenty-five minute stop for them to turn the engine around. It was much nicer when the stop had venders selling food and novelties. I do applaud their singer Malakai who sang us railroad songs for our entertainment.

Well…Willits isn’t a very beautiful town, so there’s a lot of trash, old trains that have been graffitied, and not a whole lot to see or get for the price. There was a splash of history, which was cool. There was an entertainer on the train which was awesome. Snacks for an additional charge. Would’ve been cool if we got something “free” like a cookie and a small bottle of water. The price didn’t meet the expectation. This would be worth $10 for kids and $15 for adults for what we got to see and experience. Even that is pushing it. Where we stopped was cool…picnic benches, open field to explore and some board games which was a great option.

It was great ride through the forest complete with a guided history lesson. The singing conductor really brought out the old time train experience. Definitely would recommend.
