We toured Pompeii on a rainy day (unfortunately) --the first part in a total down pour but our guide Italio did a great job keeping us dry and getting us around the ruins. He was informative and made the two hour tour feel too short.

This tour was simply fantastic. Our tour guide, Italo, was probably the best tour guide in Pompeii. He was so knowledgeable, funny and gave amazing context to everything we were looking at. He taught us so much and avoided crowds with ease!! By the end, he left us with an ability to navigate Pompeii more ourselves and understand what we were looking at. I can’t say enough great things about Italo and this tour!!!

My husband and I loved our tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and had a funny personality. I would highly recommend getting a guide so you can learn a few of the essential parts, but after the tour, you can walk around independently.

We loved the tour and our tour guide. Leonardo was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He has a pure love and enthusiasm of the history surrounding the entire area. We had both English and Spanish speaking tourists in the group. The tour was in English, but he still was able to make the tour easily understandable for the entire party. Our guide, Maria, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She led the tour efficiently, focusing on some real highlights of the ruins. She also had a book that had representative drawings of the city before and after the disaster. Very informative! We enjoyed the tour very much.

I was disappointed not to see the wonders I've read about, including the house of the faun, the Vettis, and the Villa dei Mistere. I specifically asked the guide about mosaics and he told us this was all there was. We were in the middle class sector. Luckily, we had an extra day and Rick Steve's guidebook, so we could explore further. But we had to pay the entrance fee again.

The guide (Lulu??) did a great job. One of the highlights of our two week trip. I can’t imagine doing Pompeii without a guide and this was well worth the money.
