We did the private Tour with Stavros and had a wonderful time. We were worried, that our two daughters (6 years old) would not enjoy spending a long time in a car, but as it turned out we needn't have worried. The tour features a nice balance of sights and activities that can be appreciated by grown-ups and children alike (+ lots of opportunities for bathroom breaks). We gained a lot of insight in cretan culture and history. The tour was definitely the highlight of our vacation.

Mike was our driver and he made the trip for us with his knowledge of the area and Greek myths which my grandchildren loved. His choice of small towns to visit suited our taste well. The guide at Knossos was also amazing. She had a great combination of knowledge of the site made more interesting with stories and Greek myths. It was an amazing day!

We really enjoyed our private tour with Mike. We got to see all the main sites on our wish list and because it was private, we could stay as long or as short as we wanted at each. He really took notice of the things we liked and customized the tour accordingly. We loved his knowledge, stories, and insights into the culture, good, and history of the area. He was great with our kids and they loved his Greek mythology quizzes as we drove! His driving was also extremely safe, which we appreciated as we were winding around the cliff side. Our tour guide at Knossos was Marina and she was exceptional. So glad we paid extra for that! We highly recommend this tour - wish we had time to do a second day! Thanks so much!

We came as an extended family and did a whole day tour. Spyros, our exceptional guide, tailored the whole day specifically to our needs and interests, including flexibly changing as we went. My family and I had the most magical day with Spyros as our guide. If you really want to see some beautiful treasures of Crete, this is the tour for you. My two teenage kids said it was the best day of our entire 10 day trip in Greece. Spyros was welcoming, so knowledgeable on the area and took so much care to create memorable experiences throughout the day. It is a day we won’t soon forget. If you find yourself in Crete, this is the best way to see what life is all about.

Spyros gave us an unforgettable experience. He got us an amazing guide for Knossos that kept our two teens engaged and interested- we learned so much. He was very familiar with local history and kept us laughing with great stories. We were so fortunate to be introduced to people and places he knew personally. The food was also spectacular. Visiting Crete in the off season was ideal, nice weather and no crowds! There were 6 of us on a cruise with Celebrity and decided we wanted to have a private experience for our visit to Crete. In a cost/value basis, this tour was far superior to anything offered by the cruise line and allowed us to see the sights at our own pace. Our driver, Spyros, was fantastic. Personable, knowledgeable, funny and welcoming. We really enjoyed the time we spent with him and felt we had an insider’s view of Crete. While Knossos was amazing (we would highly recommend hiring the optional guide for the visit as we learned so much more. Marina was our guide and she was excellent), the highlight was the special location for lunch in a small local restaurant. The proprietor, Anna, who was in her 80’s, provided us an amazing authentic lunch. The food was simple and delicious. Two in our group are Vegan, and there was plenty for them. It was liking having lunch with a Cretan grandmother. So fun! A very memorable day!

We had the best day of our trip on this tour. Our driver/guide Spyros showed us around the stops of the tour (at the Palace we hired a licensed guide to take us through), telling us about history, costumes, culture, and daily lives of the people everywhere we went. Visited an olive oil mill where he walked us through all the manufacturing process. We had a delicious late lunch at a small taverna, in the Mésa Lasithi village, where Spyros’ family is from. It was a rainy day so we had to skip the Cavern of Zeus, but Spyros hospitality and local knowledge more than made up for it. Highly recommended if you want more than just see archaeological sites while in Crete.

This tour was done very well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tour company went above and beyond to communicate with us. Due to the time of year, there was an unexpected closure but the tour company dealt with it professionally and proactively. They never left us to figure it out on our own. I highly recommend them!!

We were on a 13 days Mediterranean Cruise with a stop in Crete. Our tour guide Spyros is the best. He was already waiting for us at the port. He gave us water and pastries the moment we enter the van. He made us feel like we are family. The whole tour was amazing. We did not want it to end. We visited traditional cafeteria in Lasithi and had traditional coffee and cookies made by elderly woman. We felt like we were Cretan that day. It was so amazing. Spyros took care of us so well. Thank you Spyros. I wish all guides are like you. Or at least have a fraction of your hospitality. This is the best tour we had. Well done Spyros.

Wow..what a great tour this was. Spyros was our driver/guide and made this trip most memorable. He was very caring,knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The places he took us too,the lovely little coffee shop with family history,picking fruit along the way plus all the inclusive attractions on the tour. He arranged a birthday cake at our lunch spot for one of us..wonderful. I can highly recommend this tour and I hope that if you do it you get Spyros as your guide.

In August of 2023, we booked 3 days of tours on Crete in the Heraklion area. Just the two of us with our guide/driver, Spyros. We spent the first day seeing the sites while walking through Heraklion, with emphasis on the Harbour and the Rocca a Mare Fortress and the outdoor shopping areas of the town itself. Spyros treated us to a real Gyro as we looked out over the Lion Fountain. The second day was the Knossos Palace and the Archaelogical Museum. Walking through the reconstruction of the Palace gives one such insight into the flourishing Minoan period. Our guide that day for both stops was extremely knowledgeable in early Greek civilization. We enjoyed the museum so much we visited it again on an extra day we’d built into our visit. It truly was fascinating The last day was particularly special. Spyros picked us up in their very comfortable van and drove us up to the Lasithi Plateau and it’s villages. Here we learned about the bread basket of Crete where an abundance of produce is grown and had the opportunity to stop in a couple of small villages. And it’s here that you really get a feel for the country. We ambled through the winding streets and (via our guide) chatted with an older resident who told tales of the German occupation. As we walked on we shared coffee and Raki at a landmark cafe run for many years by an elderly woman. When the matriarch isn’t able to open the diner (because she’s caring for her 94 year old husband) locals open up for her and pay on the honor system. Spyros’ knowledge of the people in the town is what made this tour stand apart from other tours, it’s the real deal.

Let me say from start to finish, Spyros, our tour guide was the best! He was on time at the pick up point, very knowledgeable, engaging and made us feel very welcomed. He even ordered a birthday cake for one of our friends as a surprise. The lunch at the Taverna was delicious. The ride up to Zeus cave was beautiful and the walk up to the cave was challenging but I made it! I would highly recommend Spyros for this tour. He was very enjoyable!

We did a day tour, Spyros our guide was absolutely amazing! We went as a family of 3 kids (different ages) and one tired mom. Spyros managed to get everyone interested and engaged. The whole tour was well planned but flexible in regard to our needs, the sights were beautiful, our first time of seeing "the real crete", its nature and people. Also - there wasn't a question Spyros couldn't answer, about anything. Spyros - your tour made us want to come again in the winter!

Spiro was an amazing guide and very kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour. I will highly recommend him as he knows all the good places and history and makes your experience a sensational one.

Amazing experience. We booked the day before and Nikos arranged all literally within the hour of our request. We traveled as a family, two adults and two teens. Our guide Mike was so naturally engaging, informative and felt like he was on the tour with us. He was flexible with the itinerary and gave us multiple options. We stopped at the olive oil factory (very interesting), Zeus's cave (the teens loved it), the pottery place (very entertaining sales pitch show....worth it...plus the kids got to make a vase and I got strip off my shirt to pose as Zeus for a family photo), and the restaurant we stopped at with a wonderful view (Seli Ambelou) for lunch made the entire trip that much better as was amongst the best food we had the entire trip. And then to end it off we had an incredibly interesting tour of the Palace of Knossos with the guide Marina who Nikos and Mike kindly arranged for us before hand An amazing excursion with and amazing guideina truly amazing place. Next time we are in Crete we will try the other packages this company has to offer

Marinos is the best guide I’ve ever had, no exaggeration! He was extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, and charismatic. His wife baked us fresh cookies, and he brought us cold water and fruit salad. Marinos knows everyone in the community, and brought us to a restaurant for lunch with stunning views and a meal to die for. The trip itself was spectacular and is a must do in Crete. 10/10 recommend!! Don’t miss out on an experience of a lifetime.

We booked this tour instead of one through our cruise line because it was a better fit for what our family was looking to do. We were shortened on time because of the time restraints of our cruise, but we loved every moment of our tour. Our tour guide, Spiros, was incredible. He gave us a peek into the current and past lives of those in the area. He was able to show us the hidden gems of the area, and we were impressed with his knowledge. We all had different favorite parts from having a snack from a local coffee shop to the olive oil press tour to the Knossos Palace. Even though we didn’t have time to get everything done, we would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has time in their travel plans! We felt like we got everything we were looking for and so much more!

We came to Crete on the first leg of a longer tour of Greece, primarily for history and culture. Choosing a private tour online all the way from Oregon felt a bit risky, but we wanted a private driver and guides to maximize our personal time, not worry about driving and see the best sites we could in a full day, with flexibility. We got everything we asked for and more. Our driver/guide, Spyros, was a treasure and when we went to locations with site tours, the guides and local people we met (especially Marina, at Knossos, and Anna at the cafe in Mesalithion, and the retired “teacher” who woke from a nap to proudly show the neighborhood bakery and traditional local process) were the the best. At Knossos, the timing was so perfect that we had a complete professional tour and were able to take almost all of our photographs with no people in the frame. It was breathtaking for history buffs. We visited an olive oil factory on the way to the Lesithi Plateau villages, complete with modern and vintage equipment and Spyros had the run of the place and we learned a lot. For us, the time in the Lesithi plateau, after visiting Zeus’ cave (spectacular flora!), was a lifetime experience. Spyros’ grew up around Lesithi and when we asked to take more time in the villages, he was happy to adjust and since everyone knew him we were able to meet and talk (through Spyros) to so many lovely local people. If you want to see real traditional Crete, this is the ONLY way to do it on a short timeframe. Adaptability (we even had to stop at a bank and took a novel route back to our hotel, which was an extra that we hadn’t expected as our hotel was 2 hours away from the start professionalism, courtesy and kindness; we couldn’t have asked for more and could not recommend this tour more highly. 6 stars!
