Got great history lesson of the area and learned about the people that shaped the Patong area. You also learn a bit more about the development of the sex industry which was unique. Easy and interesting tour with narration and visuals as aids. Highly recommend if your in the area.

The wealth of knowledge provided is insurmountable. Even as an American, I learned American history I was never aware of. If you are in Bangkok you need to stop by and tour this museum.

This was a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend it. We had an American tour guide called Randy. The way Randy told the history of Patpong was predominantly just about the Americans who had visited (Jim Thompson, CIA soldiers and American military, multinational companies, and David Bowie). The curating also reflected this focus. The tour was about 1 hour or 1.5 hours long and we had no choice but to take it. When we wandered off (bored) Randy snapped and wouldn’t let us look at the exhibition alone. Randy made some very strange comments in support of US military war criminals in Laos. The tour ended with a very transphobic display, which forces visitors to guess the genitals of Thai women. When we refused to play the game, Randy got very defensive. The perspectives of sex workers was also absent. This could be such an incredible museum of an area with rich history but Randy felt like an inappropriate guide and teller of these stories. The curating felt very disconnected from the Thai people who live and work in this area.

An astonishing history, well told. Not the story you expected by any means, rather it is mired in family intrigue, war, and celebrity.

Impressive! Nice and friendly staffs :) I have really great experience there. I’ve been there twice. First time tour guide gave us a lot of informations it spent 1.5-2 hours. And the second time I went there again just for discussed one depth in Thai girl perspective (So we spent time there 4 hours in total) As a Thai girl, this museum is so different from museum I ever been in Thailand. I love the way this museum narrates us from historical sex workers into hidden story of US army in Thailand to modern day sex workers. All of things related and connected dot to dot. This museum has a lot of foreigners (more than Thais) from twice visit and i think it is underrated. One of the most impressive thing is this museum provided COVID vaccine in pandemic for people in this neighborhood and helped this community in many ways. Really appreciated.

This is an interesting museum about the history of Patpong, with plenty of interesting exhibits, and surprises in the story. There are also lots of instagrammable shots that you can take. The bartenders (two Austrians) were friendly and chatted with us. The guided tour was also interesting, but could be improved though. During the start of the tour that we had, we found ourselves standing in front of an old map of bangkok for about 20 minutes while the guide went on and on without a pause. I was wondering whether we had an option to explore on our own as the exhibits had captions (which could be in larger font). Nonetheless, if you have a keen interest in history, this is certainly highly recommended and do drop by if you are heading to the Sala Daeng / Chong Nonsi BTS area. Tip: if you are with family, head there during daylight hours, you can also have lunch at Took Lae Dee nearby. Here are my suggestions for improvement regarding the guided tour. First, ask the visitors clearly, would you like the tour or would you like to explore on your own? Second, because of attention span, keep the guided tour to 45 minutes maximum and move on to a different exhibit every 2-3 minutes or so to sustain interest.

The museum contains the history of bangkok that never been introduced, plus the great stories of Patpong Silom area now and then. Love the miniature street they created. My guide Khun August is awesome, he explained everything vividly. And there’s a cool bar inside the museum. It’s really a must visit spot in Silom.

Back in the day our laconic American host was in the centre of the action. He gave us an authentic and detailed history of Patpong - from farmland to go-go bars largely thanks to the CIA, who under the guise of a travel agency, covertly ran SE Asian US operations from there. Great stories and imaginative exhibits, including a lovely diorama of the two streets, catch the ping pong (it’s all in the wrist action) and guess the celebrities who’d been there.

I cannot fault any of this tour. A fascinating story of the history of the Patpong district told by our brilliant funny American guide. Some amazing exhibits, models, posters and even a couple of interactive games. The adult side of the area also well covered. We relaxed with our included beer in the recreated bar. I definitely recommend it.

Absolutely wonderful museum highlighting many very interesting periods of Pat Pong, Bangkok and Thailand history. Our guide was so informative. There are plenty of interactive displays, along with photographs and stories. Easy to get to via BTS Sala Daeng.

This was a great experience. I didn't really expect so much to be exhibited at the museum so the visit was a pleasant surprise and very educational. The staff was so friendly and very well informed. I'll be recommending this to friends.

A must see insight into the evolution of Patpong and the integral part it played in the Vietnam and Secret war’s. Finding out a bar we go to, used to be the CIA headquarters in Thailand was pretty cool. The guide was brilliant. He was friendly, Communicated well and obviously had a person insight into the rich history of Patpong. We were also treated to meeting “Sucky”, who is without doubt the most interesting man alive. He had some great stories to share with us. The whole staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. You really have to visit if you are in Bangkok.

I had an awesome experience at the Museum the other night, even drank a few beers during the tour.. I had been before when they first open and it was informative, but now it is so much more. Lots of interesting history. The staff is awesome. I really miss Patpong. It was always my favorite hangout in the 90's.

Amazing experience as a Bangkokien who walk pass Patpong street quite often. I've heard about this museum for a year but just have a chance to visit after they reopen again after COVID situation. The experience and local history that visualized more stories of culture, economic and war history gave me a surprise of how we know our local history very little (with interactive and entertaining way). Different from traditional museum, I would recommend any travelers to enjoy 1-2 hrs with great narration from a guide tour and exotic space within the museum!
