When I take a food tour, I expect the tour guide to be passionate and knowledgeable about food. If there is extra time on the schedule, I expect to be taken to additional restaurants, I do not want to be taken into department stores to kill time.

We had an amazing time with Hiromi! She was a lot of fun, lovely and very friendly. Great evening, great food, and great conversations! Now we want to experience more food tours because of her. What a way wonderful to see Japan!

There are so many reasons why I would not recommend. Very expensive compared to other experiences we had in Japan. Did not learn anything about Japanese food. Basically followed guide around to various restaurants and then she asked us what we wanted to eat and ordered food. Awkward silence. Went to a Korean restaurant. I like Korean BBQ, but we were in Japan!

My guide was Hiromi, very nice Japanese lady. She communicated with me via WhatsApp beforehand about my dietary restrictions and if I have an opinion about the food suggestions. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t nice, it’s drizzling pretty much during the tour so made the walking part not as pleasant as it should be. I am not a big eater so i was pretty full after sushi and bbq meat. I would suggest not to have big breakfast for your food tour day. Overall experience was good.

Naoto did an amazing job taking us to 3 traditional Japanese places. The food was delicious. He explained what the different foods were and gave us history about the Shibuya area.

My wife and I showed up at the right time and the right place, but could not find our guide. It was very crowded at the dog statue, and we walked and walked. We called them and a very nice man answered the phone on the first ring. He immediately got into action and promised us that within the hour we would have our tour. We soon got a text via WhatsApp from Chisato. She would be there by 12 PM. We went and had a delicious iced latte and a few minutes after 12, she found us. After that, we had a wonderful four hour private food tour. At the first restaurant, we cooked our own Wagyu beef and beef tongue. Wonderful and delicious. Then we went for sushi. I’ve never had standing sushi before in my life. It was delicious and memorable. We went to Miyashita Park and had a nice sit down break. We went to the Shibuya Mark city food court called the Tokyu Food Show. It was unbelievable. Three stories of beautiful food items of every kind imaginable. We had a Doryaki dessert. Thank you, Chisato for saving the day for us. I was really looking forward to this food tour and it was great!

Great tour in such a lively area! My friend was sick so I went alone, and I was the only person so I got a private tour! Amber was fantastic! She was sweet and knowledgeable and shared history with me as well as food. And aahhh, the food!!! Be bold and try it all! Amber knows her food! Sushi, BBQ, octopus balls, Mochi. I was stuffed and loved every bite!

This one of our favorite things we did while in Tokyo! Incredible food, along with knowledgeable guides. We loved learning about little things we don’t have back in the states. This tour went by so fast…we will come back and do another one! Shoko and Adam were amazing. Highly recommend this tour. I’ve already sent this to two friends that are flying into Tokyo soon.

This tour wouldn't have been as amazing as it was without Amber as a guide. She was very patient and accommodating, and very personal too with the tour group. She gladly answered all our questions and gave useful advice, but also assisted in things unrelated to the tour like choosing a suitable present. And of course, the food was delicious too! I warmly recommend Ambers tours! :)

We had a superb evening being shown around the restaurants near Shibuya with Adam and Kai. Having Adam’s expertise at knowing where to go made for a really informative evening in restaurants we probably wouldn’t have found ourselves. It’s definitely worth considering this tour as soon as possible after arriving in Tokyo as there was so much to learn about Japanese dining culture - the types of food, how to ask for various dishes and what to expect. The restaurants served great food, covering a number of different styles - sushi, wagyu, street food (takoyaki, okonomiyaki) and katsutera. Contact with Adam before the tour made it easy to meet up in busy Shibuya, and we were given plenty of flexibility and choice of how the evening should go. Highly recommended!
