We had a great tour. The crew was very personable and even volunteered to make a necklace with one of your shells. It was a perfect day at the beach. It was a quick boat ride from Fort DeSoto. As mentioned, there are no rest rooms on the island.

Captain Lauren and the Seashell King are the absolute best!! Very funny duo that make the short ride very entertaining. They even have a complimentary jewelry making service for shells you find on the island!

Was a wonderful experience! Captian Todd was great, and so was shell king! Would book this again for my family in the future ! I recommend bringing sunscreen, water, some snacks, an umbrella, a shell bag and goggles!

We LOVED Shell Key. It definitely lives up to its name. The water was turquoise and beautiful and a very pleasant temperature. We could walk quite a distance away from the beach and still be barely over waist deep. We saw a manatee and at one point a dolphin was playing in the water and came within about 6 feet of us. We found tons of olives and lettered olives, a few small shark eyes, banded tulips, sand dollars, conch of course and many other kinds. We will definitely go back the next time we travel here.

Wonderful excursion to secluded island loaded with shells. I took my son and his wife and my 4 year old granddaughter. We saw many birds and a bottle nose dolphin and picked shells until we had our fill! If you go and want to find the larger shells, I suggest using snorkel gear and masks to be able to sink down 6’ in water that is bringing new shells up slowly. Lots of fun and the captain and his ship mate were very kind and accommodating. Maybe take a snack and large Yeti iced water container!

My family & friends all had a blast at shell key island! We found lots of shells snorkeling! Todd & Mike were great on the ferry to & from. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Seen dolphins while we were out & Mike made our kiddos lots of jewelry out of the shells they found on Shell Key! Todd allowed our children to sit in the captain seat & both were very informative and interactive with the families!

Hubbard's Marina Shell Key Ferry isn't just a boat ride; it's a gateway to a secluded paradise. From the moment you step aboard their ferry at Fort De Soto Park, the adventure begins. The friendly staff whisks you away on a scenic journey towards the untouched beauty of Shell Key. The ride itself is a delight. Keep your eyes peeled for playful dolphins, majestic sea turtles, and maybe even a gentle manatee gliding through the crystal-clear water. The anticipation builds as you approach the island's pristine shoreline, fringed with white sand and dotted with a treasure trove of seashells. Shell Key is a dream for shell collectors. From delicate coquinas to magnificent conchs, the variety and abundance of shells will leave you breathless. But Hubbard's Marina goes beyond just transportation. Their passion for the area is evident in their knowledgeable crew, who are happy to answer questions and share tips on shelling.

Great time. Island is beautiful and peaceful, few other people there even on a beautiful (week)day, our 4 hr there went by in a flash. Ride over and back was scenic and mellow, captain and mate were very helpful with information and loading/unloading some gear that we had. We'd made reservations and paid in advance, when one of our party got sick the night before scheduled departure, we were able to roll over tickets to following day with no problem. Recommended.

Great 1/2 day outing. Was able to make reservation that morning for Shell Key Ferry. I just wanted to be out in the middle of nowhere, lol. My wish was granted. Took my beach chair and beach bag and caught the 2pm ferry. Capt Scott was friendly. The setting was pristine. Water was delightful. I felt I was in heaven.

I had a great time on this trip. The ferry ride was wonderful. The ride was smooth, crew was informative and we saw some dolphins on the way. The island is nice and relaxing, shells everywhere. I had taken a bag to collect shells but they do sell some if you forget. Make sure to take some drinks, snacks, whatever you want as there is nothing on the island.

We paid the $6 to park and parked where they told us and still received a $30 parking citation. We have no idea why we received a citation.

It was a great day at Shell Island. The captain and 1st mate were so polite and courteous. They gave the members on the boat great safety instruction and information about the area. Also on the way back from the island a pod of dolphins were in the area feeding. The captain was so kind to stay in the area so we could watch them around the boat. The sighting was so up close. My family enjoyed the adventure!

Extremely friendly and informative. Saw dolphins on the way back and they took the time to stop and watch and went out of their way for everyone to get to see them! Definitely recommend!!

On our boat ride out to Shell Key, we saw lots of wildlife including dolphins which enjoyed following our boat. Our captain reminded us to be respectful of the fragile environment & wildlife. We spent the day finding a variety of lovely shells & enjoying the beauty of the island. Sadly we departed after several hours & our captain returned us safely to Fort DeSoto.
