Nice experience, Steve took care to get us into airconditioning multiple times and alerted us to bathroom facilities as we walked for about 2 hours. Informative and generous with his answers to our questions.

Maybe you’re a nerd (or insert similar noun of choice) like me, and you like architecture, culture, history, and food. If so, this tour is for you! My guide, Joe, a local aficiando, was gracious enough to endulge me in a wonderful journey through time. While the rest of society obsesses over the shiny and new, this area is a contradiction with portions of the city being carefully preserved to reflect the culture and architecture, which was orchestrated through the labor of love and colliding of different zealous characters. Joe is the embodiment of those whose came together to build Ybor City…. Enough of my blabbering, bottomline is it’s a worthwhile tour.

Really enjoyed the tour with our guide, Joe. He's a true historian and long-time resident of the city. We learned so many interesting things from someone who obviously loves the city and it's rich history.

This was a very interesting and spooky tour! The host was absolutely perfect in telling the stories! We took many pictures and I did capture little Jimmy! (Pronounced Hi-Me) in the Cuban Club! Would love to go back again to explore more!

I had one day to explore Ybor City, so I decided to take the tour to learn my way around, and get a basic understanding of the city's history and culture. I enjoyed a five star tour. It rained, and I was the sole tourist on the tour. Steve was happy to give me a private lesson, and not only was I impressed, but I will definitely be returning to Ybor to further enjoy this wonderful and historically rich destination. This tour gives the perfect introduction to the development of Ybor, with quick but effective descriptions of the powerful actors that drove it's history, racial diversity and clashes between the people, unions, business interests, religion, and foreign powers, all while describing the background of Jim Crow, the Gilded Age, immigrant life, the depression era, and modern rejuvenation/restoration/re-imagining. On top all this, you'll learn your way around, and identify places to visit for further exploration/enjoyment. Ybor City is wonderful, Steve is an expert professional guide, and there is too much to learn in a day, so you'll want to come back.

One of the best walking tours i have taken. Joe Howden was a wealth of knowledge and an encyclopedia of Ybor history. but it was his delivery, and ability to draw you into his knowledge that made this so special. When done I felt like I knew Mr. Ybor personally. This brings the Spanish, Cuban, Italian, German, and Eastern Jewish cultures and how they built the area, into focus.

Interesting, informative, and entertaining. The guide was knowledgeable and communicated well. We enjoyed the experience.
