Guided by Mister Q, we had great time discovering SH by night and bicycle and learnt a lot about history, architecture, pharmacy and food.

Q was amazing! Patient and kind and so well prepared. We had the best time. The places we visited were interesting and different too, and Q had a lot of interesting details to share. The food at the end was delicious. Great intro to Shanghai! Couldn’t believe we were cycling in the Wild West of Shanghai roads- felt very safe with Q leading us.

Q is such a nice guy, he became a genuine friend. Perfect English and French speaker. I was in Shanghai for a week prior to doing the tour, I regret not doing the tour earlier because I enjoyed it so much and heard so much on the tour about Chinese culture.

I chose this bike tour to see more of Shanghai and to meet new people, I did exactly that. Charlie, the tour guide is amazing! Lots of interesting information and I saw so much! It was great to start off whilst it was still light then see Shanghai at night. Includes a delicious local snack and the traditional vintage bikes are a lovely touch too. Although we have been living in Shanghai for several years, my friends and I really enjoyed rediscovering the city through the night hike tour. Our guide, Charlie was very friendly, paying attention to our expectations, and totally fluent in English. Her introduction of the different places we visited was interesting with just the right level of details. The vintage bikes they are using for the tour are super nice and very comfortable to ride. We had a great time and definitely recommend this tour.

Took the "Shanghai Night Tour by Bike" with guide Charlie. Highlights: - Went to a local noodle shop for dinner, SO GOOD - Calm bike ride with a tour guide that you could trust - Interesting information about Shanghai history, architecture, and Chinese culture I would recommend this bike ride for newcomers and Shanghai residents alike. The information was great but the friendly, knowledgable guide made the experience incredible. 5 Stars!

Fun experience! Really enjoy this biking experience in Shanghai by night. Our bike tour leader Charlie showed us the charm of night Shanghai and some little Shanghai stories. The noddle shop really amazed me (strongly recommend the "congyoubanmian"). Although I saw the bund view many time during 6 years in Shanghai, but I enjoyed the differet angle of bund landscape view that she showed us. Highyly recommended!

I have entered my 6th year in Shanghai but this was my first time with the Culture Shock team. And it won't be the last!! Amazing experience with Charlie! Amazing local food (The noodles in soup were the best I had in the city!), great anecdotes and a few surprises I was not expecting! Definitely recommand!

We had a night tour with a group already living in shanghai for many years and it was great. Beautiful Shanghai from another perspective old and new. In between stops and snacks. A lively outing in our own great city indeed nice guidance from culture shock!

Everything about the tour was ideal, I would highly recommend it. I was in Shanghai on business so doing a night tour was perfect. I do a bike tour in every country I visit - it’s an ideal way to cover lots of ground and get to know a city. On arrival at the office, German (our excellent Spanish guide) sat us down introduced himself and talked us through the tour, showing us on the map. The bikes were in good condition with lights and a helmet. We had a great tour - highlights were going inside a courtyard in the old Chinese quarter and visiting a traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy. We also had a visit at the start to a cafe for authentic noodles which were delicious. This is ideal as we chatted as a group and got to know each other. Throughout the tour German gave us cultural and historical info - just the right amount of information. We took lots of photos including at the British bridge in front of the Bund for good views. It was relaxed and leisurely and German was excellent company. Next time I would book a day tour if I can. And I would definitely use Culture Shock tours again.

We spend more than 3 hours discovering Shanghai with our guide, she was really nice and gave us a lot of information. I will definitely do it again with some friends when they will visit us. I strongly recommend this tour !!!

Our family of 3 (with an 11 year old) signed up for the Night Tour at the recommendation of a friend. It did not disappoint. The team was so accommodating and suggested an ebike for my husband and daughter. They loved it. The bike I rode was super easy to use. Our tour guide, Chris, was lovely and informative. She was able to make things interesting for all of us and did an excellent job leading us through the dynamic city streets. The stop for snacks was super fun. I would totally recommend this tour - great way to see the city - fun to ride around it too!

I've actually lived in China multiple years, learned some Chinese, etc, but what is fun about the bike tour is you have someone leading you through the small, maze-like streets. You don't have to do any of the real thinking, and can just ride along and enjoy the sites, views, and atmosphere. (And these bikes are awesome. They are the old-school style Chinese bikes, which are super durable, quintessential, comfortable, and recall to mind an older time period of Chinese history.) Our guide, Chris, was amazing; she had a lot of information to share and took us to a great local noodle shop as well as to look at the soon-to-be-torn-down shikumen (selling point, go now while you can still see them). While you can go check any of these places out yourself, having someone explain what you are looking at is sooooo helpful and makes the place a lot more interesting. Highly recommend because: - Friendly guide, friendly staff, quick responses from the company about any questions - Chris was great; I'm sure their other guides are equally competent - Fun to try local food - Great sights - Planned route so that anyone can do it, enjoy it, learn a little bit. Even the other Chinese girl with us learned some new tid bits about the area.

What an absolutely amazing experience we had!!! We got to see old Shanghai and newer Shanghai. We stopped and had delicious traditional noodles and later yummy lamb skewers. A real must!!!

We join a Night Tour by bike. All of my family is really satisfied this tour and also recommendable. We can know the Shanghai’s developement history from our guide Hana who is pretty and friendly. I found this tour very interesting. We toured areas that traditional tours do not go through and each tour guide curates the tour according to the group and their individual interests/knowledge. Food was great and group was small, which made it easy to navigate around the city. Bike ride was smooth and generally pain free. The fact that it was in the evening was probably the best part because it was wayyyyy to hot to do a bike tour during the day.
