Disorganised from the start. We left half an hour later than planned. Tour guide spent more time trying to impress a young lady in the group than providing tour information or keeping people moving according to the schedule. So much so that we were unable to visit all the planned spots. Loud music pumping in the transport carrier and had to ask a few times for the volume to be turned down.

We took a trip to gabala with sabuhi guide. Very well planned and conducted. One must opt for the same. However we would have loved to spend more time at the snow site. By the time we reached everything was almost closing.

Aisha, our tour guide, did a fantastic job. She always makes herself available to whatever questions we have and even if we don’t have any.. she will approach us individually to ask - for a shy person, this is an advantage. 😉 She is knowledgeable and she makes sure we enjoy and satisfied with the tour. Sabuhi was a pleasant face who welcomed us on this fun filled trip to Absheron. He had great knowledge of all the historical sites. The burning mountain was my favourite pick amongst all the places we visited. Not to forget the mud volcanos and the pre historic paintings that were some of the other highlights. All smlies here. Definitely recommend this trip on your next visit to Baku, Azerbaijan.

Very good tour and Sabuhi is a great guide! Time arrangement is reasonable and finishes on time. Only downside is the restaurant for lunch is quite expensive

Extremely impressed with Tour Guide Mr Behbud. He was very knowledgeable and an extremely friendly and easy to talk to person. He explained to us everything about the places in details and kept us entertained by actively conversing with us all the time. There was never a bore moment during the entire trip.

We're absolutely glad we chose Smile Azerbaijan for our day trips from Baku. We did 3 day trips and they even have us a night city tour free (complimentary). Very reasonably priced. Though we coordinated prior to our arrival, we paid 100% advance by visiting their office. The vans were clean and comfortable, we toured all places in groups. The lunch places they stop at are also good. The coordination was super prompt on WhatsApp and they even facilitated hotel pick-up. The best part of our trip was the Guide - Maqsud. He is knowledgeable, polite, patient, English speaking and above all a gem of a person. Coincidentally Maqsud was assigned to 2 our of 3 trips.

Everyone in the trip was frustrated due to many issues - the sprinter van is old and very uncomfortable seating arrangements, there is a diesel smell coming inside, a couple went and sat next to the driver. The main issue was the road to the mountain was very bad due to construction going on and the trip got delayed. The lunch place is lake restaurant - horrible food, I paid and left just after tasting. Had coffee at the next coffee shop. The guide is a sweet guy but he is new and have no information to give, why we went for that lake what is significant no explanation. He was silent most of the trip after giving some info about couple of places. The only good thing happened was the cable car trip - this should have been first instead of lake. The rest rooms and restaurant at cable car was good and everyone would have enjoyed it. the last stop was water falls but it was late and dark nothing much to see. we reached back at 10.40pm imagine in a uncomfortable seats sitting 4 hours each way was real punishment for all of us. Please check before you book - thanks

Well for starters they were very poorly organised at the start- we were all milling about at the old gate and they just kept telling us to wait without really telling us when the bus would arrive The bus arrived 15 mins late and then chaos happened - people got off the bus, people rushed into the bus - it was reminiscent of getting into a public bus The guides were clueless to maintain any sort of order Then we set off…. Late The guide quickly explained that he also speaks English and turned out we were only 2 English and rest 10 were Russian speaking Russians or Uzbeks They struck up a conversation amongst themselves and rudely ignored us the entire tour - much clapping of hands and loud music entailed - was frankly without any taste at all After driving for 4.5 hours we reached a place called Mohur and we’re forced to eat an expensive lunch - there were plenty of choices around and prior but the guide Eldash was very keen we stop at this place …where we wasted a further 90 mins - again everybody sat wherever and the whole thing became messy to get the people into the bus After that the tour began in earnest- and they took us to the gabbala cable car - which I must say was nice and perhaps the highlight of the tour- the contribution of the guide was limited to getting us tickets After that we were taken in gloomy light to a waterfall - it was so bad no one even ventured to the top We had a flight to catch and the entire time we kept reminding Eldash and he kept insisting we will reach by 10 which was an hour later by the way from the time communicated to us when we booked the excursion They then stopped for dropping of the Uzbekistan people at their hotel and we were told to shut up and told that we are crazy because by then we were hopping mad that we were not close to our hotel! The flight wasn’t going to go accommodate our delays Then the driver told us he didn’t know the hotel name and couldn’t search it on google maps - I had to open it and keep it open for nav Totally disgusted with Eldash and he is neither capable or competent of being a guide! A wasted day filled with meaningless hours of driving Smile tours- don’t go by their name - it’s a scam operation

I was walk-in in the old city of Baku and met Visul who worked with smile Tours Azerbaijani, Visul very good person and he informed us about the city tours. We went his office and finally booked Gabala one day tour and also we met another amazing person Zainab she was very nice and friendly. Next morning car to pick up us from Hotel, Around 9:10am we met our Gabala tour guide SABRINA, She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city well spoken English SABRINA was very kind person and polite, we really appreciate her assistance for the day I can’t thanks enough for her amazing work. I wish all best for her career and May Allah bless her with many more success and happiness. End of the tour we was not able to say goodbye to her due to droop of to the hotel but I hope one of her colleague pass my message to her.
