I did 4 dives with the Cenote Guy (dos ojos, carwash, angelita and the pit). All were amazing. My dive guide, Paul made me feel comfortable and safe underwater at all times. He also knew all about the Cenotes and made the experience more enjoyable! Totally recommended!

Wow, 2 years ago when we 1st used The Cenote Guy we praised their Divemaster, Mel (woman), although this time she was the direct opposite. She lacked compassion, lacked patience, she changed dive communications while we were doing our 1st dive! Many of us had the impression that Mel treated these dives as they were for her own personal agenda (she seemed to be unable to ‘read the room’ as they say). Mel spent a great deal of time explaining that if she points her thumb up 👍🏼, that the dive was over for everyone (non negotiable). During the dive, she signaled termination of dive. The diver that triggered it was confused on why so she asked. Mel has adamantly and gave the thumb up 👍🏼 signal. The diver conveyed that they’d like to do a safety stop since they had plenty of air for that but Mel signaled NO. Following instructions by Mel, a certified cave Divemaster, I ascended to the surface with the other diver (I too had plenty of air). Mel, who apparently was there to enjoy the dive never ascended. Rather she continued her dive eventually surfacing. Once she surfaced, she asked why I ascended. I explained that she signaled the dive was over which per her detailed instructions was for everyone. She said, it was just for 1 diver! (Completely different than her iron clad instructions prior to our dive that a thumb up 👍🏼 means the dive is over for everyone.). The other odd thing is the 1st diver asked why Mel canceled the dive, she said bc that diver was out of air. Oddly, Mel never checked the person’s air. Mel just assumed. The other diver reached the surface with 800 psi. The disappointment continued on our 2nd dive. Mel stopped and lingered in several places causing congestion for the group (none of us are experienced cavern divers so stopping on a dime bc Mel wants to spend several minutes gazing at something was challenging to all). During a stop in the ‘Bat cave’ 2 divers communicated they were starting to get cold. Mel indicated that we would start the dive and finish up timely. Mel did NONE of the sort. Mel continued stopping several times… It seemed to the divers (the customers) that Mel considered this her own personal dive and disregarded the customers. Adding insult to injury, the gear provided either by Mel or The Cenote Guy was pretty bad. 2 divers had marginally working regulators. Both regulators allowed water to enter the mouth of the regulator. Both regulators’ mouthpiece was damaged so much so they could be unusable at any moment. One diver only had the air gauge but no depth gauge. At one point during our dive Mel got so upset with a customer because they did “instantly” become neutral buoyant that Mel grabbed the person and pulled them down then pushed them up high then just left them struggling. Seeing that, I proceeded to help the other diver. When Mel saw me starting to help, Mel shot up and abruptly hit me hard, pushing me away. Mel then manhandled the other diver. I felt so bad for the diver and regretted asking specifically for Mel. We CANNOT recommend Mel nor The Cenote Guy. (Mind you, we did ask for Mel, although someone at The Cenote Guy had to know her quality of service has diminished considerably. That fact should have been brought to our attention.)

If you want a once-in-a-lifetime diving experience in Mexico, you should visit Cenote Guy in Playa del Carmen. Aydin and his team are very professional and friendly. They gave detailed information about the place and its history, the steps they will follow, and highlighted the things you should not miss under the water. They ensure your safety very well while diving and it was a real fun chatting with them after the dive. I'm sure you will be glad to experience the cenote diving with Cenote Guy. This cannot be explained with words, you have to try it ☺️👍

Absolutely amazing experience diving in cenotes. It was my first fresh water + cenote dive and it couldn't have gone better. I was diving with Pol and I had a greatest time. We went to Dos Ojos And the Pit. Thank you guys for amazing first cenote dive.

The dive guide (Mel) was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the different processes forming the caves and caverns. Guiding us slowly through the different phases of the dive pointing out interesting formations and the pre discussed other tunnels. I felt safe and in good hands. The booking was easy, communicative and they were able to answer all my questions before hand.

Our day was amazing, and our guide was absolutely perfect in every way. It was even better than we could have imagined. The cenotes are incredible and so different from what we know in diving. The colors, the visibility, the stalactites, the clear halo, the fossils. We greatly appreciated the welcome and the organization both during our booking and on our day. The guide took the time to explain to us the cenotes, their history, their formation, their importance in the ecosystem, and Mexican culture. He also perfectly adapted to each person's level and needs, being very available. We loved our day, thank you to you, TheCenotesGuy

We are leaving El Pit right now and heading back to the shop with Ana. What an amazing day. She was a terrific guide and made an already great trip even better. I already want to come back to dive other cenotes and will ask for her when I return. We did Dos Ojos and El Pit and both were excellent. Great experience from beginning to end. Good communication with Dani all gear was provided.

We want to spread the love on an amazing trip diving with The Cenotes Guy. We dove 10 Cenotes over 5 days and had a great time. Dani was extraordinary in organizing and communicating with us daily. Our guides Mel, Ana and Sebastian were fantastic leading us in an exploration of the underwater world of “Xibalba”. Thank you Aydin and team for a fantastic experience. We will be back!

Sebastian with The Cenote Guy was our guide on this amazing dive! He made us feel comfortable right from the start. We appreciated that he spent time explaining how the cenote were formed and what we would see when diving. Sebastian was in no hurry which made the dive relaxing and fun! We have dove many times in Mexico and this company is top notch! Thank you for such a great day!!!

Fantastic experience - Sebastian, Dani and team were excellent from initial contact via WhatsApp, to booking and the experience on the day. The team clearly have a huge passion for the cenotes sharing their geological history as well as their historical meaning to the Mayan people. Sebastian made us feel comfortable and safe in this new, and potentially intimidating environment and getting in the water was incredible - surfacing in the Bat Cave was so peaceful (and a bit eerie) and we somehow managed to get El Pit to ourselves whilst the sun was high in the sky creating incredible light right down to the bottom - just amazing!!!!

It is our second visit to Mexico for cenote diving. (First time 5 years ago and was actually also our honeymoon :) ). We are glad that we chose Cenote Guy on both occasions for a most satisfying cenote diving experience. Aydın (the first cenote guy as he would put it) and his colleagues show great effort for making the experience enjoyble for everyone. We were a group of 8 people with varying diving skills and experience. They made sure everyone enjoyed their dives; with an increasing sense of amazement (and also progress) each consecutive dive. He wad also very kind to share recommendations for non diving aspects of our vacation (food, tours, other activities etc…) I also want to thank him for inspiring me & friends to go “sidemount” 5 years ago, that made our overall diving experience much more enjoyable in general but especially more so now, 5 years later, back in the most amazing Cenotes. Thanks and…. We WILL be back :)

I had an amazing time with The Cenote Guy at Dos Ojos. Paco was the best dive guide! Very professional and personable. There was one diver in our group who was really nervous about the dives and he did a great job of making her comfortable to dive. I will definitely be diving with The Cenote Guy and requesting Paco the next time I'm in Mexico!
