Amazing guide and incredible experience. Picked me up at the airport and there was a couple along with myself that rode in the back row of the SUV. Gave great instructions. Be prepared to fall and get slightly injured. I was going too fast when I basically ate it and rolled over. Was sore for a few days but definitely worth it.

We had never sand nor snow boarded before. Aldo was a patient and professional teacher. We learnt a lot and had fun! Carlos sand dune driving was extraordinary but we felt safe!

I came to Lima last on my trip, and initially, I felt like I should have put more days in Cusco. Alonso, Sebastian, and Rolando changed my mind. I had such a fantastic time. Alonso and Sebastian picked me up promptly at my hotel, where we then traveled to pick up my instructor Rolando. Everyone was super friendly and were joking and laughing the whole way to the sandboarding experience. Alonso is an excellent driver who knows the dunes well. If you have never been off roading before, do not worry. You are in good hands. Alonso is very experienced. Once out in the dunes, Rolando helped familiarize me with the equipment and assessed my experience level. He was very patient and explained everything I would need to know as a complete newbie. He very quickly had me up and practicing on some small dunes, encouraging me the whole way. By the end, he successfully had me board down a 100m dune! At all times, he made sure I was comfortable with whatever dune we were about to ride. The ride back was just as fun as the ride out, and we even went through the flavellas as a kind of bonus tour. 12/10, 100% recommend

WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Everything about this excursion was excellent from the beginning to end. The driver picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off. The instructor was super sweet and made us feel confident (although we had never done this) he instructed us so well that we thought we were pros at the end. 10/10 recommend!

This experience was one of a kind. Our kids had the time of their lives. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Lima. We are all skiers with NO snowboarding experience. We were given a crash course and in the end were able to go down the sand dunes on the "sandboard"!

Aldo and Carlos run an exceptional tour - they’re kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We loved having the dunes all to ourselves - we had the best time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone! Perfect for a day trip from Lima - beats spending 8 hours on a bus to Huacachina!

Great afternoon of Sandboarding with Ronaldo. They were able to accommodate use last minute, we reached out only 2 days before the tour. They didn’t have ski boots in my size at the last minute so I boarded instead, Ronaldo was a great instructor and I was riding after a brief lesson and improved through the day. We had a good snack of fruit and water, and a prompt driver. Great day, would do again!

This was such an adventure with great guides! Our group had an absolute blast and we'll never forget it!!

Hugo (driver) and Rolando (sand boarding instructor) were both great. Land cruiser was clean, came with snacks and he had great skills out driving the dunes. Rolando took his time showing us how to sand board, kept us entertained and took great pictures of the adventures. Would recommend 5/5 stars.

Booked an English speaking tour. Tour director was great - clear instructions, support learning and great safety briefing. Driver did not speak English - we spent an hour with him as we traveled to get the tour director. Would have liked an English speaking driver as paid for. Driver was crazy in the dunes - certainly need to add a warning not for another who gets motion sick. I would not recommend our driver again felt unsafe at times with his driving in the dunes and in the city. Tour director made sure we had a great time sandboarding!

Great fun……even with sand getting everywhere! Beautiful area. Helps to be a snow boarder or skier, then again, the sand is soft! Aldo was great.

The crew was awesome and an amazing experience overall. Lots of fun, and definitely not something that most people visiting Lima will have done. Trip each way takes between 90 minutes to 150 minutes depending on traffic. And you do about 3 hours of boarding. So I'd account for about 7 or 8 hours in total to do this.

Rolando was a great and knowledgeable instructor. The dunes are awesome. Sad that we couldn’t do the off road experience that was included in the package.

My husband and i had the best time. Our Private tour offroading/sandboarding was exhilarating. They were always ready to snap some great photos. Conductor was very sweet and knowledable. Sandboarding instructor was very patient and fun. Driver was impressive. They were on time to pick us up. They were down to earth and easy going. Thank you guys for the great experience.

Sand boarding in the desert was the ULTIMATE experience for those wanting a completely different activity in Lima. You get to see a great bit of the city as you venture out to Ancon. Aldo, Frank, and Ali were so knowledgeable and made us feel like we had been friends for years. My husband's favorite part was the adrenaline rush and the views. My favorite part was the views and learning more about the desert in Lima. Absolutely amazing experience, friendly and safe guides, and something we will cherish forever.

Sandboarding on Christmas Day with Aldo and Carlos was easily the highlight of my time in Lima! Carlos expertly navigated us safely through the crazy Lima traffic and showed us an awesome time off roading in the desert. Aldo was a friendly and encouraging guide and instructor and made sure we were safe and had fun. Overall this was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend Desert Expeditions to anyone looking for a unique and exciting adventure outside of the city for the day!

Sandboarding was something my family really wanted to try. The guide and driver were really friendly and they were able to even change the departure time to accommodate our Covid test. We drove the 1.5 hr trip through a fairly rough part of town to the location but once we got there, the scenery is quite amazing. Like the surface of the moon! The Sandboarding itself is difficult if you have never been snow boarding. Our 17 yr old daughter was the most successful and she did have lots of fun! When you fall, and all of us did repeatedly, the sand is soft so no damage done. Driving through the dunes was really fun as well and was simply a way to get from one dune to the next so you don’t have to hike back up. I would say the trip was worth doing for those that are adventurous and not worried about falling down a few times!

We had the best time with Aldo & Carlos! Aldo is such a great instructor, with no previous experience we successfully surfed the dunes and had a blast doing it. Aldo is very knowledgeable and knew how to direct each person. Driving around the dunes with Carlos behind the wheel added a layer of adventure we weren’t expecting but loved! We felt safe & cared for as 2 women traveling from the states. Communication was perfect, we knew exactly who we were meeting. I would definitely recommend this company!!! We thought about going again in 1 trip because we had so much fun.
