This Basque Country private tour begins with a guided tour of San Sebastian. We will walk along the La Concha beach on the way to the old part of the city. Your private tour guides will point out historical points of interest including the Catedral de Buen Pastor, the Basilica de Santa Maria and the plaza constitución in the center of the old quarter of the city.
The tour also includes a visit to the picturesque outlook of Mt. Igeldo overlooking the entire city of San Sebastian. A stop in the fishing port of Getaria. Getaria has some of the best restaurants in the Basque Country along with San Sebastian. A short drive to the unique coastal village of Zumaia is the next stop, with its famous rock formations containing fossils that date back some 100 million years. Here you will find some of the most breathtaking vistas in the entire Basque Country.

My wife and I attended the San Sebastian and Basque Coast Day Trip From Bilbao tour by The Best of Basque. Our guide, Irene, was wonderful and provided extensive information about Basque country and Basque people on our way from Bilbao to San Sebastian and wherever we stopped. My wife and I were the only passengers in a comfortable luxury car. Irene walked us through San Sebastian and stopped at all places of interest. We had lunch in San Sebastian where Irene advised us about the local dishes. We walked along the beaches in San Sebastian and took several pictures. We were provided comprehensive information on the history of San Sebastian. On the way back we stopped at a number of small towns of interest. The whole tour took about 6 to 7 hours. This tour is a great day way to spend a day if one has limited number of days in Bilbao.
Irene and Zack did an excellent job giving us a tour of San Sebastian and the Basque coast. We covered a lot of ground and the couple were well informed and insightful. The tour was tailored to our needs and we especially liked that Irene and Zack were accommodating enough to split their duties when our needs differed from the couple w/ whom we were traveling. That was an unexpected and welcome perk for this semi-private tour.
Zack arrived on time. The van was comfortable and both were very hospitable and responsive to requests. We marveled at how well Zack spoke English, only to find that he is originally from Detroit. Irene is a native of Bilbao, so she has a retrospective view of the city before tourism and the effects of the Guggeheim on Bilbao.
I have no hesitation in recommending this tour of San Sebastian and the Basque Coast Day Trip.
Our guides Zach and Irene are a great couple. It was like a day out with friends. Very knowledgeable and easy going. This coast and area is so unlike the Costas and the rest of Spain .Excellent pintxos and txakoli local white wine in the lovely fishing village of Getaria. All - in - all a great day out.
Zach and his Basque wife, Irene were superb tour guides in this full day trip to San Sebastián and the Basque coast. Although we kept pace, they were willing to stop anywhere we desired-even to purchase a txapela, the national Basque hat! Our seafood lunch at the seaside was a bonus. Everything about the day was delightful, with enough time to see the highlights. My husband and I highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful day off! Great guides, Zac and Irene, who took us to awsome places we had the fortune to see the gigantes fiesta in san sebastian and stunning and unforgettable landscapes over the ocean.
This excursion went beyond our expectations, and we recommend it to everyone who wants a great service. It could seem expensive but it's worth every euro!
