We had SUCH an amazing time! Sara, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and I loved getting to chat with her. Who would’ve thought we’d see sloths in the city of San Jose?! However, I loved how passionate our guide was and how she inspired us to go back and take care of the nature in our own towns. Really cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

I honestly just wanted to see a sloth and got that and more! The tour was mainly walking through the University of Costa Rica campus but our tour guide (Sarah who was great) opened my eyes to so many things that I never paid attention to such as insects, plants, etc that I take for granted. Oh, and we got to see three sloths hanging around (4 actually but we don’t talk about that one)!

Sara was a lovely and amazingly smart guide. She knows so much about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica and the world. She took time to explain birds, plants, trees, special flowers and most importantly, sloths! We saw 3! it's not guaranteed to see one but she made it happen. thanks so much!!! And she made sure we were hydrated--so thoughtful. Highly recommend!

We had a small group of 5 with our guide being Sara. Sara was an absolutely terrific guide, she clearly loved what she was talking about and the environment around us, she was so knowledgeable and helped the group engage with each other. She was approachable and accommodating. The best tour guide we've had in Costa Rica. The entire tour was such a nice surprise, there's never guarantees finding wild animals but with guides like Sara you feel a lot more hopeful.

We were really impressed to see so much nature in the city. Sara was very knowledgeable and encouraged us to look closely at things we would not have noticed without her guidance. I was particularly happy to see the sloths, it was an unexpected surprise on our last few days in Costa Rica.

Really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about nature. We really learned a lot and saw 2 sloths. Not a lot of walking but your neck will get tired lookin up to search for sloths.

Extraordinary! I never imagined I’d see so much — and learn so much — of Costa Rica’s flora and fauna without ever leaving San Jose. Our guide, Raquel was an extremely knowledgeable biologist and true naturalist. Her passion, energy, and respect for nature was contagious! Fun and intimate! Oropopo is clearly a special company — a model of true and responsible Ecotourism!

Sarah is very knowledgeable, we saw 2 sloths and 2 species, took a clear picture of its face even by using monocular, and numerous types of birds, plant. butterfly garden is another big hit, the walking is easy to handle and can see that many within the limited time locally is beyond expectation.

Melissa was an awesome and engaging tour guide! I love how passionate and excited she was about the biodiversity on the university campus. I learned so much while on this tour. I had been doing a lot of wildlife tours so it was great to hear something new. I recommend doing this wildlife tour over going to a wildlife refuge, as the wildlife on campus is all authentic. We got to see 3 sloths on the afternoon tour, all of them curled up in a ball and sleeping.

Thank you Sarah for such an educational walking tour through the University of Costa Rica. My family enjoyed the observation of the flowers, butterflies, and sloths. We had a different tour the day prior in the rain forest and we did not spot any sloths. We were excited to see three sloths with Sarah. Do the tour, it's worth it!

We loved the experience. Getting to see sloths so early on our trip around Costa Rica was amazing. The University campus is excellent and our guide Sara was very knowledgeable. She also delivered the tour in english and Spanish as we had speakers of both languages on the tour.

This tour was our first event in Costa Rica, and it was absolutely wonderful! We saw beautiful birds and two types of sloths. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. She focused a spotting scope so we could take pictures of a sloth using our own phones. We were lucky enough to see an ‘active’ sloth foraging - it was so, so cute! It was great seeing wildlife in the city, especially with such a knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Luis was amazing. He got the group together, he was very knowledgeable and informative. I found it interesting to learn about the urban ecosystem. We learned a lot and Luis's excitement of the topic was contagious. The highlight was seeing 4 sloths of which one was eating. This tour was worth every penny and more.
