What a great experience for photographers of all levels. Doc was insightful, patient, and fun! He's very knowledgeable and will guide you as much as you need with regard to composition, camera settings, etc. During the tour he cruised in/out of a variety of great vantage points, all very quickly and efficiently. The vehicle was clean and very comfortable. I was able to get some nice shots, learn a thing or two, and see the city from a few locations I never would've found on my own.

Doc was most professional and extremely knowledgeable. As a result we were able to visit sites that we never would have been able to photograph on our own. Our total experience was extraordinarily.

Excellent preselected locations, great historical info about photo sites, helped with camera setup and equipment adjustments, very knowledgeable, provided list of all sites visited for post processing, made recommendations for specific Lightroom adjustments to improve final image, highly recommended if you want help to get great photos

Doc is amazing! He listened to what we wanted, planned our outing, and drove us around to wonderful photo spots. We absolutely would not have gone to so many places on our own because we didn’t know about them! Doc also taught us about the area along the way. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

This was a great experience for my husband and me. Doc picked us up at our hotel and brought us to some fabulous sites for photos. He gave some great tips to my husband and taught him some things about his camera that my husband didn't know he could do. This was a one-on-one experience. We really enjoyed our time with Doc and appreciated his knowledge of San Francisco and photography. Definitely worth the money!

Booked Doc's tour for the last night of a SF work trip and boy am I glad that I did! There is no way I could have visited so many great photo locations and ended up with the pictures I did (my friends were all amazed). Doc couldn't have been any greater. He knew which locations to visit at which times, he helped me with my camera settings so I could get the 'perfect' shot, and he's just a fun guy to be around. He knows a lot about SF and shared such interesting tidbits with me as we toured different spots; the history buff in me loved it. Thanks for a great time, Doc, and sorry it took me so long to write a review :) I'll sign up for the sunrise tour next time I'm in SF!

What a great time. Doc took me to some “local knowledge” spots to get the best perspectives on the Golden Gate Bridge and the city. He gave me some key pointers when the daylight faded to make sure I captured the photo. Additionally, Doc has a treasure trove of historic knowledge about the places we visited. Highly recommended!

I had just 2 days for a Yosemite and San Francisco (sunset) tour - and Doc organized them just perfect. He knows the best locations and timing for perfect photos. Additionally, he gives valuable technical tips and tricks for the photo shooting. Best of all, Doc is an amiable and informative guide. I enjoyed every minute of his company. Moreover, when I lost my lens at the last shooting, only realizing it at the airport, he went back found it in the middle of the night and sent it back to Germany. Doc, it arrived in perfect condition - thanks again! Whenever I will be in the area, I certainly will book another tour with Doc and I'm already looking forward to it :-)

I had a great time learning from Doc and being taken to THE BEST spots for capturing photos of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. Despite the fact that the Golden Gate was all but invisible when we set out, Doc's positive thinking worked magic on the fog and the end result was fantastic night shots. We did the sunset tour with Doc and loved every minute. Doc showed us a variety of vantage points for the iconic photo shoots of San Francisco as well as showing us other locations and attractions that were not frequented by loads of tourists. Doc is a really great guy and we had an amazing time. My husband and son came along for the trip and were so glad that they had. Doc took us to locations that we would otherwise not have seen and knew all the best places to get amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm very much an amateur photographer and he helped me with settings on my camera when I wasn't sure, as well as helping whenever I got in a tangle with my tripod ;) We had been slightly worried about the weather as the fog was so thick in the morning but it cleared up completely, we couldn't have asked for better conditions for taking photos. Doc's knowledge of San Francisco is second to none and my husband commented afterwards that he had learnt more about the city from Doc than he had from the tour guide on our tour of the city earlier that day. He also spent more time with us than we expected. I would highly recommend this tour, it is so worth it.

Doc is fantastic. Great conversationalist, knows the sights, and incredibly helpful with ideas and tips. He packed more into the time than I could have imagined. I can’t recommend him highly enough. I’m going to contact him next time I travel here too; I want to shoot even more.

Had a fabulous time with Doc on our tour. He took us to fantastic locations that we had never been to in San Francisco. He knows exactly when to get there and where to get the best shots in each location. He showed me settings on my camera that I was unaware of. He was informative, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I had a great time with Doc on the SF Sunset Tour! It was incredibly helpful to have a tour guide familiar with the area who knew the best view points. I wouldn’t have made it to most of these spots on my own. I’ve done night time tours before but I’m still a beginner for sure. Doc helped me set up my camera and patiently reminded me why we used the settings that we did. Never once was bored with the conversation, he said great to chat with ! Definitely bring good sneakers, a jacket, and gloves! It can be windy and cold and several of these spots.

I went out with Doc back in April for the Sunset Photography Tour. He really knows the area and takes you to the top spots as well as some local spots not a lot of people know about. Having lived in SF, Doc knew a lot about the history and was good conversation. Taught me a lot about photography as well. Would highly recommend Doc for others looking to book.

My Sunset Photography Tour with Doc Miles was a great experience. Even though I have visited San Francisco before, Doc showed me locations I did not know of before and somehow we arrived at each at a perfect time to photograph it with excellent light. Our wide-ranging, easy going conversation added to the enjoyment of the evening. Then to top it off I got an invitation from him for a night-time photography meetup the next evening when he learnt I was free the next evening. So I got a second evening shoot and an opportunity to shoot some additional locations. Thanks Doc! Hope to do another shoot with you sometime soon!
