Depart Barcelona and set out for Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí and home to the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre. Explore where he was born on Monturiol Street and also visit the famous museum. Step inside the surreal world of Salvador Dalí and find a museum like none other. Dalí wanted visitors to see his massive collection as a ‘whole’ work, and for this reason he wanted no catalogues and refused to have his works placed in chronological or subject order. Inside is a world of fantasy mixed with architecture mixed with paintings and sculptures. It’s a complete surrealistic experience. The tour itinerary varies:
From September 1 - June 30 (Winter):
Leave Figueres and head to the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués. Famous for its white washed Mediterranean houses, narrow shady streets, and sandy bay, this is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava. But what really stands out for many people is the dramatic drive there, which offers some of the best views in the whole of Catalunya. This is the perfect place for lunch. In the afternoon we will travel just a few minutes up the coast to the even smaller village of Port Lligat, the place where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him and where he built his house. Finally, we will move on to Cap de Creus, the most easterly point of mainland Spain and one of the most starkly beautiful coastal landscapes in the whole of the country.
From July 1 – August 31 (Summer):
Leave Figueres for Pubol Castle, once a home of Dalí and his wife Gala, located in the village of the same name. Visit the Gala Dalí House-Museum in the castle, and after lunch (own expense), venture to one of the many beautiful beach side towns that dot the Costa Brava coastline. Please remember to bring suitable clothing if you want to enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea or relax on the beach.
Please note: Dali House will be closed from the 1st of January to the 4th of January and from the 11th of January until the 11th of February. It is still possible to see the house from the outside.
Confirmation will be received at time of booking.

The drive to Figueres was longer than we expected. Ana our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and entertaining. The museum was extremely busy with tourists being Good Friday but the museum is something to see. Don’t miss visiting the Dalis jewelry museum attached to the main building. Cadaques was a lovely seaside town we walked around and had lunch as well.
Our guide, Enrique, was absolutely fantastic! He was so enthusiastic about everything and made the trip totally worth it! The Dalí museum was amazing and having Enriques information on the way was really what made the experience surreal. Book this, you don't be dissadisappo!
Excellent tour, well thought-though itinerary, very interesting and informative. Our guide Stephen was excellent - very knowledgable and easy-going. Wish we could have more time in the Dali's Theatre-Museum and especially in his Jewellery museum - stunning masterpieces! A bit long drive back to Barcelona (took 3 hours) but it was raining heavily and we got diverted because of the floods. Overall it was a great experience - we might consider taking this tour in summer to visit Pubol Castle as well.
I am a fan of Dali and of Barcelona. I have been to Barcelona many times but never did the Dali triad (museum in Figueres, visit to Cadaques, and then his house). I am glad I did, as it's a lot of ground to cover. Nicolas, our guide, shared the story of Dali's life on the long ride to the museum. Having the background offered a lot of context and I got a lot more out of the museum and his house than I would have on my own. Thank you, Nicolas.
What a good choice I made in selecting this complete Dali trip. Our guide was so full of knowledge and entertaining. Including the lovely town of Cadaques and Dali's house made the trip so much more memorable. I would have liked a little longer at the museum but I was able to see everything. I would recommend this day trip to everyone wanting to experience Dali while visiting in Barcelona.
A great look at the life and work of Salvador Dali.
The museum in Figueres was interesting and fun to see. I recommend it. The trip to Cadaques was very nice, I enjoyed being by the ocean and seeing Dali's home. A must for Dali lovers. Our guide was very well informed and gave lots of info on Salvador Dali's life.
This tour was well worth our time and money. The ride was long but Cam made good use of the time by providing excellent insight into the life of Salvador Dali, and more. The countryside was breathtaking near Caldeques. The Dali house was the best part of the tour. We wished we had more time there. Don’t skip the part. Thanks Cam for making it a perfect day!
This was a wonderful full day trip from Barcelona. We toured the Dali museum and then toured Dali's home but the highlight of the tour was our guide Feliciano. He was very knowledgeable about Dali but was also had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us engaged.
Ana, our guide, really made the trip worth it. We could have spent hours in both the Dali museum and relaxing by the coast in Cadaques, which is my only regret. Ana did a great job managing the group as well as adding a personal touch by giving us an in-depth view of Dali's life. She really did an amazing job by being our guide as well as an expert driver!
Our family had a great day with our tour guide Cam! It was a long day but he kept everything and everyone on schedule. We learned a lot and would recommend this tour highly. One of the highlights of our trip.
We had a great day with our very knowledgeable guide Rodriguez. We went in a comfortable large bus. We stopped firstly at the Dali museum which was fantastic, had a brief lunch then went to the castle he bought for his wife which again was amazing to walk through. Then to the Costa Brava where we could take a dip or enjoy a drink beachside. This is a great day, must do for Dali fans and even if youre not yet, you will most likely be by the end of the tour. The meeting place was easily located in central Barcelona. Well worth the money but its a full day needed to put aside to do this.
We traveled with my husband and teen boys; we all enjoyed and had a good time during the trip. Our guide was excellent, very personable, knowledgeable and funny. The only complaint that I have is that we (my family) did not have enough time to finish seeing the museum, but otherwise it gas a really good experience and the trip was comfortable.
Very accessible tour. Met at Explore Catalunya -- Small group outing in a minivan. Guide was extremely knowledgeable. Got to see lots of country side, along with the seaside towns. Seeing both the Dali museum and Dail's residence in one day was a special treat.
Wonderful and fascinating experience.. great tour guide!
I Loved the small group size and comfortable van. Guide, sorry forgot his name, was terrific. He focused on little details vs. dates that make any tour feel like a history lesson.
The eccentricity that is Dali on display...a wonderful day with a wonderful tour guide Anna who seems to really love her country and showing it off.
Cam was our tour guide and truly extraordinary. As an art student Cam had a true grasp on the essence of Dali and his surrealistic, prolific work. The information Cam shared at Dali’s museum and home was fascinating. After going on many tours in Europe, my husband and I agreed, “Cam’s was the best!
Wonderful Experience! The tour is fantastic and worth every penny.
Our tour guide, Feliciano is one of the best tour guides I have encountered. He is just amazing. His knowledge and courtesy make all the difference. He presents the pertinent stories and the history of the places visited in a lively, comprehensive and enlightening manner. During the tour, he also gives an informative talk about Salvador Dalis oeuvre as well as his lifestyle.
In Cadaques my recommendation would be to just grab a quick bite and take a walk around town and up to the church it is a lovely town, not to be missed.
Thank you very much, Feliciano!
I highly recommend this tour!
Salvator Dali's home that is now a museum was charming to visit and informative as to the influences in his life. The tour was well given and my wife and I enjoyed it greatly.
The Trip was amazing on all fronts: knowledge and courtesy of the guide, the sights to marvel at, the stories and history behind the places we visited, the surrealism of Dali, his lifestyle and his home were just outstanding, not to mention the wild waves and fantastic food in Cadaques...one of the best trips ever!!! Every penny was worth it.
We had a great time learning abou all things Dalí. Our guide and his knowledge made all the difference. We would highly recommend this trip. Muchas gracias Feliciano!
Liette and Robert
I enjoyed this trip and learned much about the artist's life and works.
The tour was fascinating. I enjoyed all segments of the tour and it was a nice opportunity to get out of Barcelona and see the countryside of Costa Brava. My favorite segment of the trip was a tour of Dali's home in Port Lligat. It is as eccentric as you would expect. The tour was guided by Arnau who was very knowledgable and personable and gave a very thorough history of Dali and his wife Gala, which helped explain some of the artist's obsessions. I highly recommend this tour and Arnau as a guide!
