10.00am - You will arrive at the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre in Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí, where you will be taken straight past the queues inside.
Step inside the surreal world of Salvador Dalí and find a museum like none other. Dalí wanted visitors to see his massive collection as a ‘whole’ work, and for this reason he wanted no catalogues and refused to have his works placed in chronological or subject order. Inside is a world of fantasy mixed with architecture mixed with paintings and sculptures. It’s a complete surrealistic experience.

This tour was fantastic. Enrique was fabulous and made it enjoyable. H e really knew the area. Loved the museum, house and lighthouse because small group. Food was excellent along the water.
Excellent experience. If you love Dali art, you will love the museum. Also be sure to include a visit to the Dali and Gala house. Beautiful property. Enjoyed a great lunch in the village too. Our guide Enrique, was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a most amazing day visiting the Dali museum Figueres and his home in Port Lligat. Our small group was a perfect size. Arnau, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us the summary of Dalis life on the 2 hour drive to Figueres then walked us inside the museum and laid out the best way to experience it. The museum itself was a magical insight into the mad genius himself and included the jewel collection as well. Next up lunch in lovely Cadaqués topped by the optional tour of Dalis home- don’t miss it! On the ride gone we asked Arnau about all things Catalunya and he gave us a greater understanding of the culture and perspective of the entire region. Truly special. Be prepared to spend the whole day. Don’t miss this if you love art and culture.
We had a fabulous day out yesterday at the Dali museum (including jewels section which was exceptional). Lots to see with highlights including the Mae West room. Our guide Gloria was very charming and knowledgeable and we were able to make the most of the day because of the context that she provided on the journey, and information in the museums. Cadaques is a beautiful seaside town for the lunch stop (we brought a picnic but there were lots of options for dining), and then we went to Dali’s house nearby. This is 14 euros extra, or 8 euros for those over 65. Bring age ID. The house is by the sea with amazing views. It has lots of Dali’s personal possessions, the studio set up, and has a pretty garden. Our driver Marcelo provided a safe, smooth ride, allowing us to admire the views of the Catalan countryside as we went. Thank you Gloria and Marcelo!
We didn’t know much about Dalí before our tour but Jordi, our guide, did a great job at sharing the history and life of Dalí. He was a fantastic storyteller. The museum was very interesting and we had a lot of choices for a great lunch. The coast was beautiful and I’m glad we chose to go to Dali’s summer home.
Gloria was very knowledgeable and gave extensive information about Dali and Gala. Described his troubled childhood and reasons for his excentricity later in life.
This was a very well run, comfortable and interesting Salvador Dali-focused outing. Our guide, Steven, was knowledgeable and informative and shared many details and facts we had previously not known about Dali. We toured the museum, the charming seaside town of Cadaqués, Dali’s home in Port Ligat and the eastern-most point of Spain, Cas de Crues, all of which have connections to Dali. It was a great way to see these sights and we highly recommend this tour.
This is indeed a full day’s excursion....about 10 to 11 hours, but well worth the time. The Costa Brava is exquisite and Dali collection and home are pure fascination. Thank you Nicholas for a memorable day!
We really enjoyed this small group tour. We arrived at The Dali Museum before the real crowds hit and then had a lovely visit to Dali's house in Port Llegat. It was well worth the small extra fee to enjoy the house, gardens, and beautiful beachy location. Had a nice lunch visit to Cadaques as well. Tour guide Arnau was very friendly and energetic and kept us well-informed.
Stephen our tour guide was great! He was knowledgeable and very friendly and engaging! To be were Dali lived and worked was a surreal experience.
Our Salvador Dali tour was terrific! The combination of the Dali Museum in Figueres and the Dali House in Port Ligat gave us a lot of information about Dali. Our guide Anna was so knowledgeable. She made the paintings of Dali at the museum come alive. She also gave us a narrative on Dali’s life during our ride.
I really enjoyed the small group tour. We had 7 people plus Anna, the driver and tour guide, in a nine passenger van. Although the trip took 10-11 hours, we stopped for coffee in Figueres and lunch in Pt. Ligat... both paid for by you.
If you want to learn about Salvador Dali this is the tour to take.
Jordi made today's trip to Dali museum and Cadaques was educational, entertaining and spectacular. Cadaques is a magical seaside town
We had great time at Dali Theater Museum in Figueres and Dali Home museum in Cadaques which are about 100 miles northeast of Barcelona. It is much easier and convenient to join a tour to visit these two museums than by yourself because of distance and museum tickets. Also, our tour guide Camilo (he told us to call him Cam) is excellent, speaking English with little accent as well as vast knowledge of Dali and his life.
From start to end our tour was absolutely well conducted. From the driver, courteous and skilled to our guide Arnau who did a phenomenal job. He is very knowledgeable about Dali and has humor which made the trip not only interesting but also fun. Everything went smoothly and the museum is exquisite.
We had a previous reservation with someone highly recommended by Airbnb who canceled the tour 12 hours before the start because he didn’t reach the desired number of guests, so it was a strike of luck to me to find an alternative in such a short period of time. I can’t say enough things about Arnau and our driver. And the tour itself is one not to be missed. Cadaques is marvelous!
Very good tour: well-organized, helpful commentary by guide Rodrigo. Sufficient time to visit on our own after guided visits.
Our guide Cam from Explore Catalonia was informative and knowledgeable about Dali , hisl life and his art- just an amazing tour
Our tour guide Camillo was great. His tour narration provided the background info we needed to really appreciate the Dali experience. He also provided a work around when we ran into a traffic accident.
Even if you don't care for Dali's art, our excellent tour guide from Explore Catalunya, Camilo, brought this mad genius to life in his narrative on the way to Figures in the most entertaining and informative way which really imparted a great understanding of this controversial artist. The museum itself is a work of art. The drive to Cadaques on the Costa Brava through the mountains is beautiful. The highlight of this day for me was the optional visit to Dali's house in Port Lliget, which is fascinating. To have seen all of this without Camilo's narrative would have not been the same. An excellent day. While the trip doesn't involve as much walking as other day tours, there are a lot of steps to climb, both at the museum and at the house in Port Lliget, as well as up to 2+ hours on the mini-bus without bathroom stops, which may present a problem for some.
It was so well worth taking this day trip from Barcelona to visit the Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres (about an hour and a half from Barcelona) - we had ample time to explore the museum and marvel at Dali's unusual creative mind - even the jewellery he designed! Our guide was informative. We then drove through the scenic mountain road to the seaside town of Cadaques - we had time for a lazy lunch overlooking the bay; then on to Dali's cottage. So glad I chose this trip!
... and more. A must see. Also Dali’s House is very interesting. Our Guide, Geordi was really great. Very knowledgeable. Pity I fell asleep on the minibus ride to Figueres and missed most of his very interesting commentary.
The tour leader Jordy made this trip fantastic. He delivered all the information we needed to enjoy and appreciate everything we saw. The stops were fantastic, don't miss the jewelry designed by Dali! It's beyond amazing. The museum astounded me, I wasn't expecting anything that could delight me the way it did. The personal stories Jordy told us added richness and understanding to everything we saw. The house of Dali exceeded my expectations. Very worthwhile journey!
We really enjoyed our trip to the Dali theater museum and home. Camillo was a fantastic guide; humorous and knowledgeable about all things Dali. Would highly recommend this tour!
Without having a car we couldn’t have seen all the sites on our own and besides Stephen’s great sense of humor kept us entertained. We didn’t feel rushed except we would have liked another 30-45 minutes in Cadaques.
A well organized tour with adequate time in the various places. Learned a lot from our very pleasant and knowledgeable guide.
Great History of Dali for all art lovers. Our guide was so knowledgeable and the trip was well planned and very comfortable. Have always loved VIATOR tours, and this was great for the whole family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Laura, provided us with history and background, which helped with interpretation of the Dali artwork. Laura also shared her insights about alternative day trip possibilities. I followed up on one of her recommendations and it was one of the highlights of my time in Barcelona. Our tour brought us to the Castle of Púbol, which was very peaceful and beautiful. We ended our day at the picturesque seaside town of Georges.
Fabulous tour guide, Nickolas. Plenty of time to tour the Dali museum and to have lunch in Figures. Pubol, where Gala's house was a wonderful part of the tour. We also had nice bit of time at the seaside for beach time or just sitting with drinks and tapas by the Mediterranean sea. Always book the small group tours much mor enjoyable and more personalized.
This trip had it all for the serious or casual Dalí fan and for anyone who might be looking for a scenic ride through the Pyrenees and to the beautiful Costa Brava. Stephen was our guide and did a very fine job with the tour. Highly recommend the trip.
Camilo is a great guide for this tour. I recommend this for those interested in art and in Dalí. Thanks
The drive to Figueres was longer than we expected. Ana our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and entertaining. The museum was extremely busy with tourists being Good Friday but the museum is something to see. Don’t miss visiting the Dalis jewelry museum attached to the main building. Cadaques was a lovely seaside town we walked around and had lunch as well.
