Joined a tour with Elizebeth, it is perfect! She’s very considerable and very nice to communicate. I usually don’t go for a large group of tour, joined this one cause there is no ticket for newswan castles turns out this is great experience! No shopping during the way, everyone is nice l, they check vaccination and negative test as well to keep everyone safe. And the lunch place Elizabeth recommended was really great and that was not for commercial reason! The view so amazing and background intro tour guide provided is very great and educative. Driver is great as well! Highly recommend!

Fantastic tour of these two castles and both locations went smoothly and were amazing!

Realize that you’ll be on a group tour - the bus CANNOT stop in certain places. There was a little grumbling due to a COVID restriction that wouldn’t allow us to stop in the town before getting to Neuschwanstein; nor can the bus slow down on the main road to take pictures of the houses or of the castle as we approached it.

This is what it is…if you’re looking for a little more flexibility - you may want to select a private tour and not a bus/group tour. The group tour was priced perfectly for use.

Feedback for Gray Line - better organization up front could make the ticket distribution go a little more smoothly. While it didn’t impact the quality or time - it did create a little angst waiting for tickets after getting off the bus. Other tours we’ve been on - guides have organized the tickets ahead of time - the locations may not have allowed for it - but if it could be improved - this would be the one improvement recommended.

Really enjoyed the trip. Our guide Monica was really helpful and gave us a lot of insight into the castles and the palaces. Only regret is that Marienbrücke is closed, so you cannot get that beautiful view of the castle from between the two mountains.

Well organized and with suitable time for everything.
Good option for a last minute trip, as it's hard to get tickets to Neuschwanstein Castle.

The tour operator was great. But the castle itself, not so much. When you see the famous pictures how's the castle, you can't help but be underwhelmed when you actually go there. It's all beauty from the exterior but not much to see in the interior. That's because the castle has over 200 rooms and only 21 or finished. When Ludwig died, construction stopped.

This tour was great. The bus was very comfortable. The tour guide was sweet and knowledgeable. The whole trip was worth the money for the day. The guide was great at recommending places to see and eat at. Also very helpful for our plans after the bus trip. The castles were amazing and worth the fee to see inside. We saved lots of money doing this bus trip and highly recommend it.

Cannot fault the tour or our Guide Jacklyn for providing what they stated they would and did so very well. However Linderhof castle was, well, boring. The alpine town where the Passions was, was also just a dull tourist trap with added Jesus statues. The Neuschwanstein castle was the main and by far best bit. I honestly think the tour should just go there and add the cable car and bridge over the waterfall behind the castle.

The uphill walk to the castle (and back down) takes about 30 minutes on quality roads but you will be walking so be prepared.

Also please note - as the tour company states in advance - you pay extra to enter the castles - The total for both = €27 adult / €6 for kids (Oct 2020) I would avoid Linderhof and to be really honest Neuschwanstein main attraction is its exterior which can be viewed free from the viewing deck at the top of the hill near the castles front door. But €27 to find out yourself is hardly extravagant.

Busy day with lots packed in. Monica was a great guide. Despite the weather, it rained most of the time, I was able to see some great sights. I wanted to take photographs of the castle from Mary’s bridge and was able to do so but had to foresaw lunch for an on the go sandwich To ensure I got my place in the bridge queue and made the castle tour at the set time. The walk at the end of the day is quite a trek fortunately I was able to jump in a horse and trap but be careful these guys only leave when all the seats are full!!!

The tour was on time for departures however after the depart everything went downhill. The tour mentioned a stop after the first castle for lunch, but due to time issues, lunch was skipped and so was the village visit. The tour ended 3 hours prior to the estimated time. The tour guide did not give helpful insights for photo locations or the local know hows. I say this because the castle can be seen from a specific bridge for which the queue is very long and instead of whiling away time at a nearby lake one could have done the bridge as you travel 5 hours only for that one view!

Tip: From the tour bus drop off point at the Neuschwanstein Castle, take the local bus to the top of the hill. The bus stop is close to a natural path that leads you to this iron bridge, from where you can see the castle in its full glory.

Great Trip, fantastic hosts. No issues with the COVID situation, well prepared and social distancing on bus. The Scenery at both locations and whilst travelling around the Bavarian Alps is stunning and we had time to stop for 30 mins at an Alpine Village which was a bonus.
The Bonus of current COVID Situation meant that albeit Neuschwanstein was busy apparently it was no where near how busy it would have been under normal circumstances to access to all the viewing points were accessible.

Things were a bit delayed in the morning but tbe tour still went mostly as expected. Due to covid-19 the castles were quite empty so it was possible to see a lot and to really enjoy the experience. Our tour guide was always very informative and told us a lot of details about the history of the places we visited.

The trip was fantastic. The timing leaves you no margin of error if you want to experience the most of it but on the other hand, who would book a trip longer than this one?
I was already having second thought about this one because of its length, and I have no regret, every stop where meaningful, enjoyed the whole experience, great couch, great guide.
I highly recommend it.

Hanae, our guide, was great!! She explained a lot about the history of the castles and locations. The entire trip was excellent. Agenda is pretty packed and almost to time to look around, nonetheless it was very nice and organized. The guided tours on the castle and palace are a little rushed (nothing to do with grayline, these are the actual attraction guides) and not being able to take pictures inside the properties is a bit disappointing. But overal experience related to the tour was great. I would definitely recommend.

Monika, our tourguide, told wonderful stories about king Ludwig and made the bus ride (luxurious and spacious) already a great experience. Also our driver, Senat, was very friendly. If you are looking for a perfectly well arranged day tour with beautiful sites, make sure you book this one!!

Both castles were very beautiful, and were decorated much more over the top than many European castles Our guide, Paul, was very fun and had some good stories. You might even get him
singing. Paul has some good history of Ludwig II and his family. The actual castle tours require the castle guide. They were informative, although a bit quick. Both castles are worth seeing, and the area around the castles is stunning. It is a long day, so having a driver and guide made the day much easier!

If you're hesitating, go for it.

This was a great day out.
And we covered so much more than we could have if we'd been doing it by ourselves.

We had a great tour guide. I enjoyed everything we learned on the bus.

The castle was outstanding, and the countryside on the way stunning.

We had time to get lunch and then walk up. My mum isn't the fittest but we took our time walking up and got there with time to spare.

Tour guide was fun, nice, and spoke a few different languages. They had a bathroom onboard the bus, it was a two story coach. Timing is tight, but I expected that from the description (it's not until you get there, you want to stay longer). First Castle was ok, the grounds were more impressive that the actual Castle. The second stop was fun, but not long enough to do anything besides visit a gift shop and get a quick bite. The big Castle was the money market of this trip. It takes your breath away. Don't be lazy, walk up to the bridge to see the Castle, it's unreal and breath taking.

Be prepared to walk uphill for around 40 mins. Need to build up your stamina fyi.

But this tour is smooth... takes you all the way on a bus to 3 places and you can have ample time... they also sell beverages on the bus which are cheaper than buying on the stores on location.

Beautiful scenery but too rushed. The tour company could have easily given us at least 30 more minutes in the last two stops but they told us the driver was in a rush because he needed to get to another job.

This was a very full day. Our tour guide, Danielle, was very clear on what we needed to do and when we had to do it. She provided excellent narration about the area, the dire and King Ludwig II. Because there was so much to see, there was very little down time other than when we were traveling from site to site. The downside was with the tour being done by the Neuschwanstein tour staff. When we were ushered into the castle rooms, he did not advise all to move into the room. Therefore, some people were just outside the room while the room explanation was being given.
