This was the best tour we could have booked to discover Rioja. Robert and Rebecca are super great hosts and teach you all there is to know about Rioja and wine. I highly recommend this tour. The vineyards you visit are not large producers, so it’s quite a unique experience.

Our group of four (2 couples) had an amazing time with Robert and Rebeca. Our private Rioja winery tour "like a native" was wonderful and was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Spain. Plenty of wine, food, history and laughs. Cannot recommend this tour highly enough! 10/10

We truly enjoyed our Rioja Like a Native Tour! Meeting the families behind the vineyards and learning their history along with literally tasting the fruits of their labors was an incredible experience and highlighted our Rioja trip. Touring Alavesa and Alta while our guide Robert imparted nuggets of knowledge on the growing conditions, history and culture of the region was insightful and an integral part of our day. Rebecca and Robert are excellent guides who have forged close relations with Rioja wineries to truly connect wine tourists to the vineyards and families of Rioja.

Roberto and Rebeca are absolutely AMAZING. This tour was like no other Winery tour we have ever taken. It is a very unique experience, much more than just tasting some wines. We learned so much about the Region, Riojas wine specifications, effects of different decisions on the wine make process in the Rioja region etc. Highly recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed a customized, private tour with Rebeca, starting with a 7:30 a.m. pickup at our hotel in Bilbao, followed by visits to three wineries we chose on our own plus one we happened to drive by, and ending at 6:30 p.m. back in Bilbao. Not surprisingly given her family’s background, Rebeca is very knowledgeable about Rioja, and she imparts that knowledge in a relaxed and professional manner. We appreciated both Reneca’s deference to winery personnel during visits and her willingness to interact with us in between visits, including during a casual and delicious lunch “like a native.” Highly recommended!

It was a fantastic tour. They are very flexible as we discussed what we wanted from the tour and where we were going on other days so they could take us to other wonderful wineries. This is not the typical wine tour, you get to see some wonderful boutique wineries where you get to meet the wine makers. They provide you tons of information about the region and customs as well as the history. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is by far one of the best winery tours I’ve been too! I’m a big fan of Rioja wines and I am so glad that the tour was so well done. This tour feels very personal and authentic, and not ‘commercial’ like alot of other tours that I went to. Most winery tours I’d been to felt like they were just conducting a business tour; just drink, go through the process, some introduction, and done move on to the next one. But for Rebeca’s tour, it was very a very authentic experience, kinda like you are visiting a local friend in Rioja who is bringing you around. The wineries that we were brought to had awesome wines and to end the tour, there was a very personal surprise (which I won’t spoil here). My friend and I received a special gift at the end of the tour which we thought was very thoughtful and unique. Thank you for making my experience in Rioja such an AMAZING one!!! Muchas gracias!

Robert and Rebecca were great hosts and provided a fantastic overview of the past and present of Rioja wine making. I still have nightmares from the goat body wine carrier, but it was a delicious educational day spent in the region!

We booked our tour in May 2023 and had an outstanding experience. We don’t ordinarily do group tours as we are fairly particular about what we’d like to do and prefer to chart our own path, but this was exceptional. Our guide, Jose, was extremely professional and knowledgeable.Our touring companions were equally enthusiastic and a lot of fun. Rebecca and Robert truly made this wine tour an exceptional experience. The balance between visiting an old winery and a more modern one created a captivating blend of tradition and innovation. My friends and I had a fantastic time, and their knowledge and enthusiasm added an extra layer to the journey.

This was easily the best wine tour and probably the best tour we have ever been on! We were reluctant at first to do an all day tour but it came highly recommended so we decided to do it. Rebeca, Pjotr, and Robert were perfect hosts. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. The tour was informative, educational and a ton of fun with enough wine to keep us happy! If there was a downside, it was that they set a very high bar for how we now consider tours!

10/10. We did the full day wine tour and had an AMAZING time! We are still talking about this tour and using what we learned 3 months later! If you are planning a trip to La Rioja, you do not want to miss this. The whole day was planned out from pick up to drop off and Rebeca was incredibly communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Had a two-day tour with Robert and Rebeca and it was phenomenal. I've taken wine tours in CA, South America, South Africa, France, etc. and this was the most educational one I've taken. Went to a wide variety of wineries, learned about the history of Rioja and the winemaking as well as meeting a number of producers around how and why they produce the wine the way the do. If you are planning to go to Rioja would highly recommend spending time with Rioja Like A Native!

This was my second tour with Robert and Rebeca, and if I travel to Spain again I would book a 3rd! Not only is the tour a fantastic experience both visually and intellectually, it is a great value for the cost. Robert is an excellent guide and his knowledge of wine and the Rioja area are second to none. His enthusiastic attitude is contagious and the conversations about wine can be as deep or light-hearted as you would like. He dispenses knowledge without any of the pretentiousness or snobbishness many wine connoisseurs seem to possess. The fact that both he and Rebeca are bi-lingual was just the cherry on the top, as my partner's first language is Spanish. They each have very welcoming and loving spirits, and I honestly can't imagine a better tour or more incredible hosts. If there were a Hall Of Fame for wine tours, Rioja Like A Native would be one of the first inducted. An exceptional tour from top to bottom. Just writing this review makes me want to book another tour right now! Well done Robert and Rebeca...well done!!

Robert was extraordinary: made us feel welcome and provided lots of info throughout the tour. We visited wineries using the old ways to modern ones—all producing fabulous wines. Scenery was gorgeous. Lunch was delicious. Robert never rushed us; he even took great photos which he sent to us!

The tour provided a great mix of types of wineries, and our group was the perfect size. Big enough to meet some new people but not so big it wasn't personal. The wineries were all fantastic and a good time was had by all.

Enjoyable tour. We really highly recommend Mariajose as a tour guide. He owns a family vineyard and is very knowledgeable of the area and really friendly. Rebecca was good at replying when making the arrangements. My husband and I were really happy we booked this tour. The lunch was good but it might be nice to have option to select from a menu or option of a salad or dessert. Fellow tourists were nice and also very interested in learning about Rioja wines. The wineries visited would be hard to do on one's own, so the tour was very worthwhile.

My friend and I took this wonderful tour and had a great day. There were only 3 others, and the 5 of us, plus the van driver, had a very nice day together. The Van was comfortable and we could see the countryside easily as we drove. The wineries we stopped at were not the most famous, which was absolutely perfect, but each was very special and unique. The people at the wineries were lovely and informative. We were never rushed - plenty of time to taste and to buy, but no pressure to buy. The last stop at the vineyard was better than expected. We not only walked the vineyard, we were invited into the owners wine cellar and had a wonderful tasting. I highly recommend this tour. I would definitely do it again.
